Liverpool have been in talks with Egyptian officials as they try to get Salah home to Merseyside as soon as possible.

And they have confirmed that although the 28-year-old will be allowed to fly if his test returns a negative result, but will be forced to self-isolate for ten days.

Premier League rules state a player who tests positive for Covid-19 must self-isolate for the same period.

Salah tweeted: “I’d like to thank everyone for the supportive messages and well wishes. I’m confident I’ll be back on the field soon.”

Salah will therefore not be available to Klopp for the crucial clash against Leicester on Sunday in another blow for Jurgen Klopp.

Virgil van Dijk, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Joel Matip are all out, while there are also concerns over Andy Robertson.

Just about all of the greatest uncapped Premier League players ever were pursued by England. And only four of them were English.
