While this kind of thing is pretty much a given considering the “unexpected” nature of the WWE brand extension / draft, Dave Meltzer reported in the latest issue of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that WWE has plans to split up a few established tag-teams at the WWE Draft special edition of SmackDown.
The special WWE Draft edition of SmackDown is scheduled to air live from the DCU Center in Worcester, Massachusetts on Tuesday, July 19th. As noted, following the upcoming Draft special edition of SmackDown, the show will air regularly live every Tuesday night, as opposed to being taped on Tuesday nights and airing on Thursday nights.
Regarding the separation of tag-teams in the upcoming Draft, the Wrestling Observer Newsletter did not mention any specific tag-teams, however the more established a given team is as a unit, the more likely they are to be split up for the “shock value” factor.
