The Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Tommaso Ciampa is said to be dealing with an injury, but it’s unknown what the injury is or how bad it is. Ciampa is trying to work through it and is currently of the mindset that he will take care of it after his match with Johnny Gargano at NXT Takeover: New York. The injury is reportedly why Ciampa was kept off of RAW and Smackdown this week and was also kept off this weekend’s NXT shows. Ciampa’s last match on the main roster was last week’s Smackdown, where he and Gargano defeated The Bar.
Ciampa, Ricochet and Gargano didn’t perform on any of this past weekend’s NXT events. Aleister Black, Ricochet and Gargano are still advertised for this weekend’s events in Cleveland, Columbus, Pittsburgh and Royal Oak, MI.
