The final inductee into the WWE Hall of Fame this year has likely just been revealed. The WHTZ 100.3 FM radio station in New York City has begun advertising the Hall of Fame ceremony. While giving out a rundown of the complete Hall of Fame lineup this year, none other than Brutus “The Barber” Beefcake was included among the previously announced names for this year’s class. Beefcake is the only person in the lineup that has not already been confirmed for the HOF by WWE, which may indicate that WWE will announce him as the final entrant in the Hall of Fame this year next week. Beefcake has been rumored for the Hall of Fame for a couple of weeks now, and it appears that he will receive the honor in New York City after all now.
Reports of Brutus Beefcake going into the Hall of Fame this year were first brought on by the WrestleVotes Twitter account weeks ago. It was then discovered that Beefcake and Hulk Hogan were being brought into New York for some of the WrestleMania 35 festivities this year. Beefcake competed under numerous monikers throughout his career, but he is perhaps best remembered for his “Barber” gimmick in the WWF. Since this hasn’t been made official by WWE yet, there is a chance that this induction may not take place, but all signs seem to point towards Beefcake going into the Hall of Fame this year. He will join D-Generation X, The Hart Foundation, Harlem Heat, The Honky Tonk Man, and Torrie Wilson in this year’s class.
As reported yesterday, the legal dispute between Lucha Underground and King Cuerno, Joey Ryan, Ivelisse, and Kobra Moon has been settled. Although there is still no word on a fifth season for the El Rey Network series yet, those four wrestlers in the lawsuit are free agents and can work anywhere they wish. Where will they be headed? According to Lucha Central, King Cuerno (aka El Hijo del Fantasma) has reportedly attracted the attention of WWE and is expected to be pursued by the company now. Meanwhile, Joey Ryan is said to be joining the rest of the Being the Elite cast in All Elite Wrestling very soon. No words on plans for Ivelisse or Kobra Moon as of right now, but that is expected to change soon.
