Solskjaer reveals frustration with Bruno Fernandes in Man Utd win

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has revealed he was “frustrated” by Bruno Fernandes’ positioning in Manchester United’s win over Everton.

Fernandes scored twice and assisted the other as United came from behind to win 3-1 at Goodison Park.

It was another in a long line of virtuoso displays from the Portuguese since he arrives in January, but Solksjaer revealed an area for improvement after the victory.

Solskjaer told MUTV: “Great performance. Of course leading the boys, there’s desire and determination. He’s everywhere on the pitch!

“Sometimes that frustrates me, because sometimes there’s passes being played where he should have been and he’s not there.

“But you know when you’ve got someone who drives them on like this, of course you’re very happy.”

Meanwhile, United captain Harry Maguire heaped praise on Fernandes and highlighted how the Portugual star bounced back after the midweek defeat to Istanbul Basaksehir.

“Bruno was excellent today,” Maguire said. “He came under a little bit of stick on Wednesday night.

“But he’s a big character, he’s a big leader, and he’s reacted brilliantly. And that’s only what he does.

“He does his talking on the pitch and I’m delighted that he’s got a couple of goals – or whatever you want to call it, a goal and an assist. But he was brilliant out there and helped us get the victory.”

It might well be the biggest weekend of the season so far. The two biggest title contenders finally clash in a long-awaited meeting, but will Leicester or Wolves come out on top? Liverpool also play Manchester City or something apparently.
