Raw’s Alexa Bliss will challenge for Bayley’s SmackDown Women’s Championship at Stomping Grounds.
On tonight’s SmackDown, Bliss defeated Charlotte Flair and Carmella in a number one contender’s triple threat match to get the title shot at Stomping Grounds. Mandy Rose and Sonya Deville got involved in the match and tried to pull Carmella out of the ring, which led to Bliss hitting a DDT on Carmella and getting the win.
Bliss was appearing on SmackDown as part of the Wild Card rule. The number one contender’s match was set up when Bayley appeared on Bliss’ Moment of Bliss talk show segment earlier in the episode.
Stomping Grounds is taking place at the Tacoma Dome in Tacoma, Washington on June 23. The pay-per-view replaced Backlash on WWE’s schedule. Backlash was originally scheduled for San Diego, California on June 16, but it was canceled when Super ShowDown moved from May to June.
It was stated on this week’s Raw that Roman Reigns will face Drew McIntyre at Stomping Grounds.
