PSG pushing to sign £25m-rated Arsenal full-back

Paris Saint-Germain are said to have bid around £25 million for Hector Bellerin, according to reports.

It is unknown at this time if Arsenal will accept this offer, as they are currently mulling over the bid.

FourFourTwo adds that Mikel Arteta would prefer to keep Bellerin at the club, but they may have to sell so he can pursue other targets.

It is well known that Atletico Madrid’s Thomas Partey is one of Arteta’s main targets this summer. But to enable them to trigger his release clause of £44.5m, Arsenal may have to let a few players leave first.

Arsenal are not short of options at right-back. They have Cedric Soares, who recently returned on a permanent deal. Ainsley Maitland-Niles also remains at the club, despite being the subject of interest from Wolves.

Wolves reportedly offered Arsenal around £20m to sign Maitland-Niles, but talks have since broken down.

The Gunners may be more willing to let Bellerin go, with the fee in question being greater than for the England youngster.

Bellerin has been a regular in the Arsenal side ever since breaking into the team in 2014/15. But his number of appearances have decreased in the last two seasons due to injury.

Maitland-Niles (23) is two years younger than Bellerin, and Arteta may see him as a ready-made replacement for the Spaniard as his new first-choice right-back.

Arsenal have already been very busy in this window. On Tuesday they completed the purchase of Gabriel Magalhaes from Lille, with the centre-back joined in a deal worth around £27 million.

Gabriel was the club’s fourth summer signing after Willian, Pablo Mari and Cedric Soares all moved to the Emirates earlier in the window.
