Pre-Show:
The NXT TakeOver: New York Pre-Show opens up live from The Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York as fans make their way into the arena. Charly Caruso then welcomes us to the panel. She is joined by Sam Roberts & Pat McAfee. They hype up tonight’s loaded TakeOver card. Charly Caruso then sends us outside to Sarah Schreiber with a bunch of wild fans doing The NXT chant. Schreiber & Caruso then hype up The WWE 2K19 Million Dollar Challenge, which will see a fan compete in a game against AJ Styles for $1 million, later on The Pre-Show. Charly Caruso then sends us to a video package for Matt Riddle vs. NXT North American Champion The Velveteen Dream.
We then go back to the panel for a video package and a discussion on The Fatal 4-Way Match for The NXT Women’s Title. We then see WWE United Kingdom Champion Pete Dunne backstage arriving earlier today. WALTER is also shown backstage. Charly Caruso then leads us to a video package on that match. We then come back to the panel and Nigel McGuinness has joined them. We also get a video package for The NXT Tag Team Title Match. We then go backstage to Sarah Schreiber with The Undisputed ERA’s Bobby Fish, Kyle O’Reilly & Roderick Strong. They talk about Adam Cole and look forward to him capturing the vacant NXT Title in tonight’s main event. They then say that The Undisputed ERA begins tonight as NXT will change forever and the era will see them all draped in gold. We then get more hype and discussion on tonight’s show. Charly Caruso then plugs the finals of The WWE 2K19 Million Dollar Challenge, which continued at WrestleMania 35 Axxess earlier today to determine the finalist that will face AJ Styles. We then go to the arena and it’s time for the finals. Corey Graves is introduced. He then brings out Xavier Woods to help with the competition. The fan, Stephan T. Benson, then comes out to The Miz’s theme music as The Miz was his Superstar coach earlier. Woods then introduces AJ Styles and out he comes to a pop.
AJ Styles goes with Seth Rollins while Stephan picks WWE Universal Champion Brock Lesnar. Stephan actually cut a decent heel promo and went on to win The $1 million. He played up the heel antics to the crowd and posed with Graves, Woods & Styles while holding up The $1 million check from 2K. We then go back to the panel to plug WrestleMania 35 Week on The WWE Network. Charly Caruso then leads us to a promo for tonight’s 2-Out-Of 3 Falls Match for the vacant NXT Title. McAfee believes that Johnny Gargano can take the title tonight but he argues with Sam about the winner. They go on and that’s it for The Takeover Pre-Show.
Main Show:
The NXT TakeOver: New York Main Show opens up with a video package recounting the history of TakeOver and building into the hype of tonight’s show. We are live from The Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York as Mauro Ranallo welcomes us to the show. He is joined by Nigel McGuinness & Percy Watson. We also see The Spanish announce team at ringside.
We then head to the ring for the first match of the evening as NXT Tag Team Champions The War Raiders make their entrance first. Ricochet & Aleister Black make their entrance next.
The War Raiders (Hanson & Rowe) (c) vs. Ricochet & Aleister Black: The NXT Tag Team Titles are on the line in this one. Rowe & Black lock up. Black grabs an armbar. Rowe counters into one of his own. Rowe & Black trade headlocks. After a bit of chain wrestling, it ends in a stalemate with Rowe on top of Black. Another stretch of chain wrestling ends with Black’s foot on Rowe’s neck. Rowe & Black fist bump after the exchange. Ricochet & Hanson tag in. After a flip exchange, Ricochet dropkicks Hanson out of the ring. Black & Ricochet hold the ring and sit and wait for Hanson & Rowe to get back in the ring. Ricochet sends Black into Hanson but Hanson counters with a seated senton. Rowe bodyslam Hanson onto Ricochet. Black takes out both War Raiders with a leg sweep. Springboard lariat by Ricochet. Ricochet gets a near fall after a standing shooting star press. Black & Ricochet take turns working over Rowe. Rowe hits the judo throw high knee on Black. Short crossbody by Hanson to Ricochet. Hanson puts Ricochet & Black in opposite corners. Hanson freight trains Ricochet & Black over and over again. Hanson tries another crossbody but Ricochet catches Hanson in midair and hits a fallaway slam. Black & Rowe trade elbows. Black tries a springboard but Rowe counters with a high knee. Rowe hits the ropes and runs right into a spinning knee by Black. Black hits a nasty German suplex for a near fall. Ricochet & Hanson trade flips. Ricochet misses a handspring kick. Hanson hits a handspring back elbow. Ricochet kicks out.
Hanson goes up top. Ricochet cuts him off. Ricochet tries a rolling attack but Hanson catches Ricochet and sends him into the corner. Rowe hits a flying knee. The War Raiders destroy Ricochet with a German suplex/springboard clothesline. Rowe & Hanson pin Ricochet at the same time. Black breaks up the pin with a double stomp off the top. Hanson tries to toss Black in the air. Black turns it into a double knee strike. Triangle moonsault to the outside by Black. Rowe hits a suicide dive. Ricochet hits a sky twister cartwheel splash to the outside. Hanson climbs up top and hits a swanton to the outside. Everyone is down. Ricochet & Rowe gets in the ring to break the count. Ricochet & Black each hit big boots on Rowe. Black hits the Black Mass on Rowe. Ricochet crushes Rowe with a shooting star press. Hanson pushes Black into Ricochet to break up the pin. Ricochet misses the 630. Black misses a moonsault to the outside. Hanson clotheslines Black. Ricochet runs right into Thor’s Hammer by The War Raiders. The War Raider hits Fallout for the win. After the match, Hanson & Rowe stand tall and raise The NXT Tag Team Titles in the air as their music hits. We go to replays. Hanson & Rowe help their opponents up from the mat and the crowd cheers again as they all stand tall together. We get another show of respect. The War Raiders lay the titles down in the middle of the ring and bow at Ricochet & Black for another show of respect and another pop from the crowd. We get more replays. The War Raiders head to the back. Black & Ricochet stay in the ring, playing up to the crowd after what might be their final appearance for the black and yellow brand. Ricochet looks to be getting emotional. Fans chant for NXT now. Black & Ricochet hug in the middle of the ring as the cheers continue. They bow to the crowd as a “you deserve it!” chant starts up.
We head backstage where we see Johnny Gargano preparing for the main event.
We then see Piper Niven & NXT UK Women’s Champion Toni Storm in the crowd at ringside.
We then get a video package for the next match which is NXT North American Champion The Velveteen Dream vs. Matt Riddle for The NXT North American Title.
The Velveteen Dream (c) vs. Matt Riddle: The NXT North American Title is on the line in this one. Dream & Riddle both play to the crowd. Dream goes into the crane kick stance. Riddle kicks Dream in the leg. Dream tries a takedown but Riddle stuffs it and almost puts Dream in a double wrist lock. Dream gets to the ropes. Riddle monkey flips Dream into an armbar. Dream gets to the ropes again. Dream stomps on Riddle’s foot and floors him with a shoulder block. Dream rolls up Riddle. Riddle kicks out. Dream rakes Riddle’s back. Riddle waist locks Dream and lands two gut wrench suplexes. Dream rolls Riddle into a schoolboy. Riddle kicks out. Dream lands a few ax handles off the top. Riddle falls to the outside. Dream leaps off the top for another ax handle but Riddle moves out of the way and destroys Dream with a German suplex. Exploder suplex by Riddle. Running senton followed by a penalty kick by Riddle. Dream kicks out. Riddle tries to put Dream in The Bromission but Dream gets to the ropes yet again. Dream surprises Riddle with a German suplex. Riddle pops back up to his feet and hits a sick running knee. Dream kicks out. Riddle rains down elbows on Dream as Dream is caught up in the ropes. Dream puts Riddle in a sleeper. Riddle turns it into a pin. Dream kicks out. Dream charges at Riddle but Riddle puts Dream in a triangle. Dream escapes. Ripcord knee followed by a GTS by Riddle. Dream kicks out.
Riddle lays in a few nasty kicks to Dream’s chest. Dream Hulks up and lights Riddle up with a few straight shots. Dream big boots Riddle. Dream sends Riddle to the outside with a clothesline. Axhandle to the outside by Dream. Dream sends Riddle back into the ring and hits a fameasser. Riddle kicks out. Dream dives off the top but Riddle meets him with a high knee. Codebreaker by Dream. Riddle kicks out. Dream tries a running knee but Riddle counters with a rolling single leg crab. Riddle transitions into an ankle lock. Dream escapes and superkicks Riddle. Dream Valley Driver by Dream. Dream tries the Purple Rainmaker but Riddle locks Dream in The Bromission. Dream breaks the hold. Dream goes to the outside. Riddle deadlift German suplexes Dream back into the ring. Riddle hits the floating bro. Dream kicks out. Superkicks by Dream. Riddle powerbombs Dream, then hits the flash knee. After the match, Riddle’s music hits and he clutches the title as Riddle expresses shock at the finish. Dream takes the title and poses in the corners as Riddle looks on. Dream comes back down and Riddle applauds him. Riddle offers his fist for a bump and Dream gives it to him for another pop. We go to replays. Dream continues his celebration as the music plays.
We head backstage where we see The Undisputed ERA preparing for the main event.
Commentary then sends us to a video from earlier today of WWE COO Triple H & NXT General Manager William Regal signing International Superstar KUSHIDA to The NXT brand. We also see KUSHIDA sitting in the front row and he gets a huge pop.
We then get a video package for the next match which is WWE United Kingdom Champion Pete Dunne vs. WALTER for The WWE United Kingdom Title.
Pete Dunne (c) vs. WALTER: The WWE United Kingdom Title is on the line in this one. Dunne tries a single leg but WALTER stuffs it and puts Dunne in a single leg crab. Dunne counters and puts WALTER in a standing ankle lock. WALTER gets to his feet and walks down Dunne. WALTER puts Dunne in a chin lock but Dunne bends WALTER’s fingers back. WALTER misses a chop. WALTER tosses Dunne to the other side of the ring. WALTER misses another chop. Dunne tries like hell to avoid one of WALTER’s nasty chops. Dunne elbows WALTER in the face. WALTER obliterates Dunne with a chop. Dunne looks up at WALTER like he saw a ghost. WALTER picks Dunne up and hits another devastating chop. Leap frog by WALTER. WALTER hits a big boot. WALTER sits Dunne on the top rope and stomps on Dunne’s neck. Dunne falls to the outside. WALTER suplexes Dunne on the apron. Dunne puts WALTER in a heel hook. The referee pulls Dunne off of WALTER. WALTER destroys Dunne with a boot. WALTER goes back up top. Dunne cuts WALTER off. Dunne snaps WALTER’s fingers yet again. Dunne puts WALTER in a triangle while they are on the top rope. WALTER hits a super powerbomb off the top. WALTER hits a top rope splash for the win. After the match, WALTER takes the title and celebrates as his music hits and we go to replays. We get more of WALTER raising the title as Dunne looks on from the corner, resting his head on the bottom turnbuckle. We get more replays and come back to WALTER clutching the title.

Cole bad mouths Gargano. Gargano levels Cole with an elbow to the head. Gargano sends Cole over the commentary desk. Before Gargano can set anything up, Cole kicks him in the gut and hits the angels wings on the table (which doesn’t break). Cole gets back in the ring. Gargano gets back in the ring at 9.9. Cole super kicks Gargano. Gargano kicks out again. Gargano & Cole trade superkicks. Gargano puts Cole in The Gargano Escape. The Undisputed ERA hits the ring and attacks Gargano while the referee is out of the ring. Fish & O’Reilly hit their finisher on Gargano. The referee gets back in the ring. Cole pins Gargano but Gargano still kicks out. Gargano sends Cole out of the ring onto The Undisputed ERA. Gargano takes out each member of The Undisputed ERA. Cole superkicks Gargano three times and hits the Last Shot. Gargano still kicks out. Cole misses the Last Shot. Gargano puts Cole in the Gargano Escape. Cole almost gets to the ropes but Gargano rolls Cole back to the center of the ring. Cole taps out. Winner & The New NXT Champion: Johnny Gargano

After the match, the crowd pops as Gargano takes the title and tries to get up from the mat. Gargano clutches the title as his music plays. Gargano stands tall and has his arm raised in the middle of the ring. Wife Candice LeRae runs down and celebrates with Gargano. Gargano raises the title high in the air as we go to replays. Gargano sits on top of the barrier and celebrates with fans at ringside. He & Candice celebrate with family members in the front row. We go to replays again. Candice & Gargano head to the stage to pose with the title now. The injured Tommaso Ciampa comes out from the back now. Wearing a neck brace, Ciampa stands with Candice & Johnny for a group hug as fans cheer them on. TakeOver: New York goes off the air with Gargano, LeRae & Ciampa standing together on the stage.
