MANCHESTER, NH — A man accused of kidnapping a woman and her child at The Mall of New Hampshire Saturday was arrested in Pennsylvania Sunday, according to police. Everett Simpson, 41, of Vermont, faces a host of charges. Simpson left the hotel and the woman and child were able to call for help, police said. Simpson was later tracked to Upper Darby, Pennsylvania and arrested.

Police said Simpson escaped from a substance-abuse rehabilitation facility last week, stole a Kia Forte sedan and drove to New Hampshire to kidnap the woman and child. Simpson has had previous encounters with police, including a September incident where he stole a car and assaulted a Vermont State Police trooper.

Simpson has had previous interactions with the police, including a September vehicle theft,
high-speed pursuit and aggravated assault on a Vermont State Police trooper in Lyndonville.
