Man Utd make ‘firm’ offer for €80m Liverpool target

Premier League side Manchester United have made an offer for Lille forward Nicolas Pepe, according to reports.

It has been suggested recently that €80m-rated Pepe favours a move to either Liverpool or Serie A giants Inter, with several European heavyweights understood to be interested in the Ivory Coast forward.

The Times claimed on Sunday that Liverpool ‘are yet to make an offer’ for Pepe, but United are confident of being able to afford him thanks to ‘Romelu Lukaku’s sale to Inter Milan’.

Lille’s president claimed yesterday that a deal that would see Pepe leave the Ligue One club was “almost done” – although his destination is unknown.

And now Yahoo Sports France (via Sport Witness) report that United have made a ‘firm’ offer for Pepe but Lille rejected the deal.

The report suggests that United will continue their pursuit of the player with Pepe understood to be ‘ok’ with a move to Old Trafford.
