For the first time in India, Kerala government will start cooperative societies for the transgender community in the State, minister for cooperation Kadakampally Surendran has said.
Addressing the media on the sidelines of the Sahakarana Congress here on Sunday, he also said the government would release the working grant for these cooperative societies, and this pioneering venture is aimed elevating the status of the community.
