Former Liverpool manager Gerard Houllier has died at the age of 73.
The Frenchman had a long history of medical problems but the cause of death remains unknown.

Houllier suffered a life-threatening vascular problem during a Premier League match against Leeds in 2001 which requied 11 hours of open-heart surgery.
He initially arrived at Liverpool in 1998 as co-manager alongside Roy Evans, but took sole responsibility after Evans left his post later the same year.
He oversaw a major rebuild of the first-team squad, signing the likes of Dietmar Hamann and Sami Hypia.
And his greatest achievements at Anfield came in the 2000/01 campaign, when the Reds won a cup treble of the FA Cup, League Cup and Uefa Cup.
Houllier also managed Aston Villa, PSG and Lyon, as well as playing the role of assistant manager with the French national team, while his work with the country’s youth sides was credited with playing a major role in the successful 1998 World Cup campaign.
