Dortmund ‘will offer Sancho big pay rise’ amid Man Utd impasse

Borussia Dortmund are reportedly ready to offer Jadon Sancho a lucrative new contract if Manchester United fail to match their £108million asking price by Monday.

United are at an impasse with Dortmund over the transfer fee, with the Premier League club insisting the asking price is too high given the financial climate.

And Bild claim Dortmund will tempt Sancho to stay with an improved £190,000-a-week contract.

This will increase his annual salary from £5.4million to £9million, but it’s still significantly less than the £340,000-a-week reporteldy being offered by United.

Dortmund used the same tactic to keep Robert Lewandowski for a further year in 2013 and a new deal was offered to Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang before he joined Arsenal.

United’s deal for Sancho looked to be close a week ago, but as it turns out the fee continues to be a stumbling block.

Dortmund are not budging from their £108million valuation and have set Monday as a deadline for United to commit to the move.

This has ruffled United’s feathers, and they claim they won’t be ‘bullied’ into the deal. And so it continues.
