The problem of conservation of endangered species seems to have only increased in India. After tigers, now the leopards are into the radar of being endangered. The Indian leopard is listed as “vulnerable” on the International Union for Conservation of Nature’s Red List. It is protected under Schedule I of the Wildlife Protection Act, 1972.
According to a report by IANS, as many as 106 leopards have died in the first two months of 2018. The number has dipped drastically in forest areas across the country.
