Chris Jericho Claims He Doesn’t Accept His Wrestle Kingdom 13 Match

This past weekend saw New Japan Pro Wrestling announce a Wrestle Kingdom 13 match for Chris Jericho, but it seems he doesn’t agree with the decision.

Jericho successfully defended his IWGP Intercontinental Championship this past weekend at New Japan’s Power Struggle event against Evil and is now set to defend it once again at the highly anticipated Wrestle Kingdom 13 show.

Jericho had protested that he wouldn’t defend his title but is being forced by NJPW management with the company announcing that he will face Tetsuya Naito at the show.

This is, of course, a rematch from this year’s Dominion event where the WWE legend dominated Naito and destroyed him in a very one-sided match, which also set up his most recent match with Evil.

Chris Jericho made his first appearance for his current New Japan run at Wrestle Kingdom 12 when he faced Kenny Omega, but it appears that Jericho doesn’t want to compete at the event again this time around, at least not against Naito.

Jericho posted to his Instagram stating that even though New Japan has announced the match, it doesn’t mean that he has to accept it, adding that it is not approved.

Hey @njpw1972, just because you “announce” a match, doesn’t mean I have to accept it. NOT APPROVED. @s_d_naito pic.twitter.com/LCkwjn4TTI
