Lyon demanding €111.7m in damages from the LFP

Lyon President Jean-Michel Aulas is demanding €111.7m in damages from the LFP following their decision to terminate the 2019/20 campaign with 10 matchdays left to play, which resulted in OL missing out on European qualification for the first time in the 21st century.

Le Parisien report that Aulas has not gone into detail in the club’s demand for this indemnity and what the legal grounds are for it, but insiders believe this action has little chance of success. It has however been met with consternation by other Ligue 1 club presidents, as if his legal action is successful, then the money will come from every other club’s TV rights money.

Kasper Dolberg has house robbed & car stolen

L’Équipe report that 22-year-old Danish international Kasper Dolberg has been the victim of a robbery on his property in the Nice area as well as having his Porsche stolen whilst he was away on international duty with Denmark.

Local authorities have opened an investigation into the matter. Dolberg returned to Nice on Thursday evening, when he reported the disappearance of his Porsche which he had left in the Nice Côte d’Azur airport long stay car park. Then, he discovered that someone had broken into his home when he was away. It would appear that an access pass, which was in the car, allowed the perpetrator to enter his house.

Arsenal make a formal €35m offer for Houssem Aouar – what we know so far

RMC Sport report this evening that Premier League side Arsenal have moved to make a formal offer to Lyon for attacking midfielder Houssem Aouar worth €35m.

The outlet has no other information at this stage of any kind on the situation, contrary to Téléfoot Chaine who provided the following updates earlier this evening:

The Gunners’ bid for Aouar went in on Thursday – the player has agreed provisional terms with the London club, but would prefer a move to Juventus or FC Barcelona. However, neither of those sides have made a bid for the moment, contrary to Arsenal.

Mikel Arteta has intervened personally on the matter, according to the French TV station, and it remains to be seen how Lyon will respond to the bid.

Note: this is the first official offer made in writing to OL – it is understood that Technical Director Edu did speak to his counterpart Juninho in August about a cash plus Mattéo Guendouzi offer, which Lyon had no interest in.

PLAYER RATINGS | Istanbul Basaksehir 0-2 PSG

Adam White provides his ratings on Les Parisiens’ following their victory over İstanbul Başakşehir on Tuesday night in the Champions’ League.

NAVAS

5

Clean sheet. One smart stop mid way through the second half and two other simple saves besides. Close to a 6.

FLORENZI

4

Produced the usual hussle but little else and tired noticeably before his subbing.

DANILO

6

Handled the physical Enzo Crivelli comfortably in the end and looked assured in his much discussed centre-back role.

KIMPEMBE

6

Lucky with a misjudged first half header which might have led to a goal but woke up after half time producing a much more aggressive and proactive second period.

KURZAWA

4

Had some nice moments on the ball and in forward areas but was worrying static defensively when Istanbul pushed forward early in the first half.

HERRERA

3

Wasteful and ponderous on the ball throughout.

MARQUINHOS

6

Tuchel is right, this is his best position. Quietly commanding in midfield and protected his back four astutely.

DI MARIA

4

Struggled to find space or create openings. Subbed early.

SARABIA

5

On for Neymar after 27 minutes following injury. Added some intensity and found some useful space across the front line in the second half but struggled to truly affect the game consistently.

MBAPPE

7

Flashes of brilliance and produced a group of mesmerising runs – three in first half. His corner assisted the crucial opener. Just about worthy of 7.

KEAN

7

Did very little other than win the game with two neat finishes – a well placed, if free, header opened the scoring before an astute spin and shot to seal it.

Others

Neymar – 5, Kehrer – 5, Rafinha – 5, Bakker – 5, Gueye 5.

Terrible. A horrible clash between the purple and the black, a significant downgrade on previous Jordan efforts.

Kyril Louis-Dreyfus attempting to buy Sunderland

As reported by The Guardian, 22-year-old son of historical owners of Marseille, Robert and Margarita Louis-Dreyfus, who held the French club in their possession between 1996 and 2016, Kyril, is close to acquiring English 3rd division side Sunderland with a Uruguayan businessman called Juan Sartori.

His mother, Margarita, still retains 5% of the shares of Ligue 1 club Marseille.

The Black Cats, who have been regular participants in the Premier League in the 21st century, have faced financial troubles over the last half-decade.

Sartori is already a minority shareholder in the business and has obtained an agreement with current owner of the Northern side, Stewart Donald, to acquire 80% of the shares, with Kyril understood to be part of the Uruguayan’s consortium.

After months of negotiating, the deal is in closing and is expected to be finalised by the start of December.

Kyril refused to comment when contacted by France Football.
