WWE has announced that NXT Superstar Bianca Belair suffered an injury at a recent live event, and will not be able to compete in next week’s advertised Fatal 4-Way match to determine the next challenger to the NXT Women’s Championship.
Kairi Sane will instead face Nikki Cross and Candice LeRae in a triple threat match next Wednesday on WWE NXT television, with the winner getting a future opportunity at Shayna Baszler and her title.
It would appear that Beanca Belair’s so-called “injury” may just be a a part of a larger storyline, although we have reached out to sources and will report back as soon as more information becomes available. WWE actually taped the triple threat match last month at their last television taping event, so there was never any plan for the Fatal 4-Way to take place at all. They will return to Full Sail University on Wednesday, July 18th for another round of tapings that will take the promotion through NXT Takeover: Brooklyn during SummerSlam weekend.
