Seth Rollins may be looking to “burn down” the main event of WrestleMania 35, as the so-called Kingslayer is currently Vince McMahon’s pick to face Brock Lesnar for the Universal Championship at next year’s Showcase of the Immortals.
According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Rollins vs. Lesnar is slated to be one of the featured matches at next April’s massive event in New Jersey — for now. Obviously, as the old saying goes, “the card is subject to change”, and Mr. McMahon could very well completely change his minds on plans for WrestleMania at any point in the next few months.
Lesnar’s next current title defense is scheduled for the Royal Rumble in late January, as he will not be appearing at next month’s WWE TLC pay-per-view. He is currently expected to face the “Monster Among Men” Braun Strowman, so it will be interesting to see how that situation is handled.
There’s also the matter of Seth Rollins being the Intercontinental Champion, although that problem is easy enough to solve. He is set to defend against Dean Ambrose at WWE TLC.
Another important aspect of the proposed Lesnar/Rollins match is that it will reportedly play off Roman Reigns, who is both the Shield “brother” of Rollins, and the sworn enemy and greatest rival of Lesnar. The “Big Dog” and his battle against Leukemia may end up being a part of the story-telling heading into that bout.
