Pins Push Vikings Past Dragons, 30-12
MOORHEAD, Minn. – The middle-weights for Augustana wrestling caught fire to lead the Vikings to a 30-12 victory over MSU Moorhead in Moorhead, Minn. on Saturday afternoon.
Augustana picked up steam in the middle of the dual against the Dragons winning five straight matches from 149 pounds to 184 pounds. The Vikings recorded three pins in that span to distance themselves from the Dragons and earned them their first NSIC road win of the season.

Brayden Curry put the Vikings on the board with an 8-3 decision over Seth Hutchison at 133. Curry went 2-0 on the weekend in his first dual action as a Viking.
Oscar Ramirez Jr. got the Vikings going at 149 pounds. Ramirez Jr. got a third period fall against Riley Byklum to give Augustana its first lead of the dual. The Vikings wouldn’t trail again and Ramirez Jr. started a string of three pins in four matches for Augustana.
Bruce Lemon Jr. rode the pinning momentum with a first period fall against Patrick Freeman at 157 pounds. Regan Bye picked up a 7-1 decision over Weston Dobler at 165 with a strong third period.
Lukas Poloncic faced the biggest challenge of the dual going up against No. 10 nationally ranked Adam Blees at 174 pounds. Poloncic rose to the challenge with a second period fall over Blees to complete the string of three pins in four matches for the Vikings.
Aero Amo won a 7-1 decision over Mitchell Kotschevar at 184 to make it five in a row for Augustana. Luke Nohns, at 285, ended the dual with a takedown in sudden victory against Jordan Magnuson to take a 6-4 decision and giving the Vikings a 30-12 dual win.
Augustana will hit the road next week to take on No. 16 Minnesota State in Mankato, Minn. on Thursday, Jan. 25 at 7 p.m.
