Coming out of Double or Nothing, AEW has made announcements for their next two shows.
– AEW sent out a press release tonight announcing that Jon Moxley (formerly Dean Ambrose in WWE) will make his in-ring debut for the promotion at Fyter Fest in Daytona Beach, Florida on Saturday, June 29. It was also announced that Moxley has signed a full-time, multi-year deal with AEW.
Moxley appeared after Chris Jericho defeated Kenny Omega in the main event of Double or Nothing. He interrupted Jericho’s post-match promo, then laid out Jericho and the referee. Moxley brawled with Omega and ended up laying him out as well.
Fyter Fest is in partnership with CEO Fighting Game Championships. The show is taking place at the Ocean Center in Daytona Beach.
– At Fight for the Fallen, Cody & Dustin Rhodes will team against The Young Bucks. That show is being held at Daily’s Place Amphitheater in Jacksonville, Florida on Saturday, July 13 and is the third event in AEW history. Proceeds from the gate will benefit Jacksonville’s Victim Assistance Advisory Council.
Cody defeated Dustin at Double or Nothing, with Dustin bleeding heavily throughout the match. After the match, Cody cut a promo and said Dustin doesn’t get to retire here. He asked Dustin to team with him at Fight for the Fallen. Cody said he doesn’t need a partner or a friend for the tag match — he needs his older brother. Cody and Dustin then hugged.
Following Double or Nothing, Dustin tweeted that he’s feeling okay after his match against Cody: “I’m ok. God bless y’all and from my heart of hearts, the greatest night of my life.”
