The Goldberg vs. Brock Lesnar “dream (re)match” might be a go as soon as Survivor Series, if Jim Ross’s sources are correct. He cites multiples sources saying the deal is now done, and Goldberg will likely face Lesnar at Survivor Series next month, keeping WWE on the radar in the midst of UFC 205 in New York City at MSG dominating a lot of combat sports fans conversation.

Keller’s Analysis: I think there are fans who are eager to see Goldberg live for the first time after watching replays of his legendary hot run in WCW in the Attitude Era over 15 years ago, and there are fans who experienced Goldberg’s hot run in real time who feel nostalgic for him. WWE hasn’t exactly built up other credible, marketable opponents for Brock Lesnar, so this is a good short-term hot-shot match to give some buzz to Survivor Series and boost WWE Network subscriptions. If it’s at Survivor Series, that’s a fast turnaround for Goldberg to “get into ring shape” for someone of Lesnar’s level. I expect the fan reaction will be the opposite of their WrestleMania 20 debacle, but I also think there’s a chance fans could turn on the match if it’s awful or too short. If they get Goldberg vs. Lesnar out of the way this year so they can hopefully build to a Shinsuke Nakamura vs. Lesnar or Samoa Joe vs. Lesnar match for WrestleMania next year, I’m all for that. I’m just not sure what the finish is? Do they do a copout with some heels coming out and interfering, leading a non-finish with Lesnar and Goldberg banding together to fend them off? Does Goldberg do the job? Certainly Lesnar won’t lose.

Another source says that @Goldberg vs @BrockLesnar is a done deal and that it will likely go down at #SurvivorSeries. If true, bravo @wwe
