ATLANTA, GA — The FBI Atlanta Field Office is helping its counterparts locate a Wisconsin teenager officials believe is in danger after her parents were found dead Monday inside their home.
Officers received a 9-1-1 call around 12:53 am. Oct. 15 and arrived at the residence to find two adults dead and their 13-year-old daughter, Jayme Closs, missing. The FBI said Closs is now considered to be “endangered.” The Barron County, Wisconsin, Sheriff’s Department said the teen is not a suspect in her parents’ killings, however.
“We’re over 200 tips, which is a great source, but we need those tips to come in,” Sheriff Chris Fitzgerald said.
Local authorities in partnership with the FBI and Wisconsin Division of Criminal Investigation are continuing their investigation. They’ve released new photos of Closs, deployed K9 officers, used thermal sensors and have conducted a massive foot and door-to-door search.
FBI Atlanta Field Office spokesperson Kevin Rowson said FBI digital billboard partners across the country will soon begin displaying Closs’s photo.
