Some of the very famous schools in Dehradun have denied admission to a class X girl who was allegedly gang-raped by four other students at a boarding school in the state capital last month, claimed the survivor’s advocate.
Advocate Aruna Negi Chauhan, the survivor’s lawyer, said, “The CBSE itself had given us the list of schools to be approached to seek admission. However, when we went to the schools, all of them said that they cannot admit students in the middle of the semester.”
The biggest shock came when the family approached one of the prestigious schools in the city, which turned them away citing the girl’s “past”.
