According to reports, Leeds United have decided to “pull the plug” on the signing of Newcastle United goalkeeper Freddie Woodman.
The 24-year-old is yet to make his senior debut for the Magpies. He joined them in 2013 from their Premier League rivals Crystal Palace.
Instead, Woodman has spent the last few years on loan in Scotland and in the EFL. His latest loan spell has come with Swansea City.

The Englishman has spent the last two years with the Swans and he has played 92 times for them. Steve Cooper’s side lost in the Championship play-off final against Brentford at the end of the 2020/21 campaign.
Leeds want a new backup goalkeeper amid Kiko Casilla’s departure to Spanish side Elche. They reportedly have a three-man shortlist in place.
One ‘keeper they have been interested in is Woodman, who is rated at around £10m by Newcastle.
It was revealed earlier this week that Woodman has “rejected” Leeds and now they have “pulled the plug” on the deal according to Football Insider.
They name Levante’s Dani Cardenas and Valerenga’s Kristoffer Klaesson as alternatives to Woodman.
Elsewhere, Dimitar Berbatov has urged Manchester United to sign Leeds United’s Kalvin Phillips after he “stood out” for England at Euro 2020:

“Kalvin Phillips stood out again too [in the 2-1 semi-final win over Denmark]. He’s been one of the players of the tournament and, sooner or later, I expect him to leave Leeds for a bigger club.
“Offers will come in for him after the tournament. He is playing with maturity, agility, knowing when to run with the ball and when to pass.
“I would like to see him sign for Manchester United.”
Berbatov went onto say that he is “pleased” that his former club have “finally” signed Sancho:
“Some fans are disappointed that Sancho hasn’t played more for England at Euro 2020. But I am just pleased that Manchester United have signed him, finally.
“Does Sancho’s arrival make them serious Premier League title contenders?
“I can’t wait to see him playing in a red shirt. But let’s wait and see what it means for United’s title chances.
“What does this signing mean for Anthony Martial? Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will have to be clever in rotating his attacking players.”
