Unforgiven has come and gone, and there is a new World Heavyweight Champion: Batista.
Earning victory against opponents from all ends of the size spectrum, The Animal won an arduous Triple Threat Match against both The Great Khali and Rey Mysterio. Now a three-time World Heavyweight Champion, the road ahead for Batista appears to be a bit darker than one might expect, given the final image of Sunday night.
The Phenom made his long-awaited homecoming to sports-entertainment at Unforgiven, vanquishing the World’s Strongest Man and signaling that he may have returned for more than mere vengeance against Mark Henry. Judging by the motions he made at the conclusion of his match, it seems that Undertaker may be interested in resurrecting a rivalry between two of WWE’s most dominant forces. Will the events of Unforgiven yield yet another war between The Animal and The Deadman? How will the dramatic events of Sunday night alter the Friday night brand and its top championship gold?
Also, sports-entertainment’s odd couple Matt Hardy & Montel Vontavious Porter successfully defended their WWE Tag Team Titles against Deuce & Domino. What lies ahead for the rivals-turned-partners and the championship gold around their waists?
As if that wasn’t enough, be sure to RSVP for a spot on your couch Friday night when SmackDown’s season premiere presents the wedding of SmackDown General Manager Theodore Long and Kristal.
Tune in to SmackDown this Friday night at 8/7 CT on The CW Network for all the Unforgiven fallout, a night of nuptials and much more.
