Zinedine Zidane wants to bring Tottenham star Son Heung-min to Real Madrid this summer, according to reports in Spain.
The South Korean, whose current deal is due to expire in 2023, is reportedly in discussions over a bumper new contract at the club following a devastating start to the season.
Son has scored 12 goals in 16 Premier League matches and also chimed in with five assists, having been central to Tottenham’s goal glut.

He has already exceeded his goals from last season and that kind of form will always earn you admirers.
And the 28-year-old has one in the form of Zidane, with Defensa Central (via Sport Witness) claiming that the Real Madrid boss ‘lives with the dream of signing Son’.
The French boss ‘seriously advises the board of his signing’ but ‘no serious talks have yet taken place’.
Apparently Son’s name is ‘sounding strongly’ to the Real Madrid board after Zidane’s advice and the manager ‘is interested in Son, knowing that the arrival of [Kylian] Mbappe or [Mo] Salah is not guaranteed’.
Despite ‘leading Zizou’s agenda’, a deal with Son could come with complications as Spurs are likely to demand a ‘high price’ which will ‘far exceed 100 million euros’.
Meanwhile, speaking back in October, Spurs boss Jose Mourinho believes that Son’s form is likely to see him be rewarded with a hefty new deal that would make him one of the top earners at the club.
“I would love that,” he said. “Son has three years of contract so it’s not like we’re in an extreme situation of everybody being worried.
“It’s more that Son loves it here. I believe that he would like to commit his future to the club for a long time.
“Everybody at the club is totally in love with this player and this boy and is trying also to make him feel part of the furniture.
“It’s normal the club tries to go from three years to four or five or six, I don’t know. It’s normal.
“But it’s a very calm situation because Sonny has three more years of contract.
“But I wish [for him to get a new contract]. He deserves one. The club knows that and sooner or later, without any pressure, they will arrive into a decision.”
