Bayern set to take Coutinho off Barca’s hands – reports

Bayern Munich are reported to be in talks with Barcelona over a deal to sign Philippe Coutinho.

The Brazil star has endured a torrid season and a half at the Nou Camp since his move form Liverpool which could have cost the Catalans £142million.

Barca have been looking to shift Coutinho off their books all summer – a deal with Tottenham was close last week – and it appears they are closing in on an agreement with Bayern.

Numerous outlets have reported that talks are progressing well with Goal France claiming that an agreement has been reached.

The specifics of any deal are not yet clear, with Sport identifying two possible options.

The first involves a two-year loan with Bayern liable for Coutinho’s salary in full plus a loan fee, similar to the deal which saw James Rodriguez spend two seasons at the Allianz Arena.

The second is a one-year loan deal with an obligation to purchase next summer.

Bayern have already confirmed the signing of Ivan Perisic from Inter Milan as Niko Kovac begins to rebuild his attack after restructuring his defence.
