Kairi Sane to face Bayley on WWE Raw

Another match has been confirmed for tonight’s post-Extreme Rules episode of Raw.

WWE has announced that SmackDown Women’s Champion Bayley vs. Kairi Sane in a non-title match is set for Raw tonight. Bayley and Sane’s tag team partners faced off at Extreme Rules, with Sasha Banks leaving with Asuka’s Raw Women’s title belt when Bayley interfered, put on the referee’s shirt, and counted the pin after Asuka accidentally spit green mist in the referee’s eyes.

Bayley retained her SmackDown Women’s Championship against Nikki Cross at Extreme Rules last night.

The main event of last week’s Raw was Bayley & Banks retaining their Women’s Tag Team titles against Sane & Asuka.

While reporting on today’s Raw tapings being delayed and rewritten, Dave Meltzer wrote about Sane’s status with WWE: “Another item scheduled for the original episode was the one talked about two weeks ago in the Observer regarding Kairi Sane leaving. There was a plan in place for tonight’s show where Sane would be written out via injury which would lead to a new feud for Asuka. It is not confirmed whether that is still on the show, but at the time tonight was Sane’s last night with the company as she will be returning to Japan after recently getting married. She may continue to be with the company while living in Japan but will not be a regular active roster performer.”

Randy Orton vs. Big Show in an unsanctioned match and Seth Rollins vs. Aleister Black have also been announced for tonight’s Raw, along with WWE following up on the situations with the Raw Women’s Championship and United States Championship coming out of Extreme Rules.  MVP called himself the new United States Champion last night due to Apollo Crews not being able to compete in their scheduled match.
