Spurs target three as Mourinho given assurances over key men

Spurs boss Jose Mourinho has been told that he doesn’t have to worry about holding onto key players this summer with the club eyeing three transfers, according to reports.

There have been rumours that chairman Daniel Levy will provide Mourinho with only limited funds to spend this summer, fueling speculation that he might have to sell key players first before he could buy.

But the Daily Mail claim that Mourinho’s plans have received a boost ahead of next season as it’s ‘almost certain not to entertain offers for any key players this summer.’

Levy is ‘hugely reluctant to engage in negotiations for any of his most important players’ as he knows he would be unlikely to get their market value due to the current economic climate.

The Tottenham chairman will, however, ‘entertain offers for fringe players to raise cash’ with the report adding that Tanguy Ndombele ‘could be sacrificed’.

Watford’s Ben Foster and Fulham’s Marcus Bettinelli are interesting Spurs as they look to provide competition for Hugo Lloris but it’s Bournemouth’s Aaron Ramsdale that tops their list.

Everton recently had a £25m bid accepted for Southampton midfielder Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg but his ‘preference’ is to join Spurs and the north London club are ‘increasingly confident’ of landing the Dane.

Spurs also have ‘big interest’ in Beijing Guoan centre-back Kim Min-jae as they look to add a defender to their squad with Jan Vertonghen looking set to leave in the upcoming transfer window.

Reports earlier in the week from 90min claimed that Spurs are playing hardball over their pursuit of Kim with the Premier League club having two bids rejected for the £15m-rated centre-back.
