This Week’s WWE Smackdown Viewership Decreases Despite a Title Match Main Event

This week’s WWE Smackdown Live was headlined by Carmella challenging Charlotte Flair for the WWE Smackdown Women’s Title. The show ended with Flair successfully defending the title only to be attacked by Becky Lynch.

According to ShowBuzz Daily, this week’s WWE Smackdown viewership averaged 2.350 million, which is down from last week’s 2.437 million viewership average.

Nick Aldis Ready For War, Brandi Rhodes Was Against Pharaoh Appearance, Izzy Continues Training At EPCOT

Current NWA Champion, Nick Aldis is preparing himself for tonight’s huge title defense against Cody Rhodes and he claims he is ready for war at ALL IN.

Ronda Rousey Match Announced For WWE Raw Next Week, Triple H to Respond to Undertaker, Hall of Famer Returning

WWE has announced another stacked deck for Raw next week, as Ronda Rousey will be teaming up with Natalya to face the team of Alexa Bliss and Alicia Fox in a Tag Team match.

Also on the show next week, Triple H will respond to The Undertaker’s comments on Raw tonight, and Hall of Famer Mick Foley will appear on the show to celebrate the 20 year anniversary of his iconic Hell in a Cell match against The Undertaker.

It’s worth noting that Monday Night Football officially commences next week, and with the NFL airing two games next Monday night, all three hours of Raw will be going against football, which is likely why WWE is advertising numerous high profile segments in advance. Tonight’s show was stacked up against the Labor Day holiday, which usually yields a lower viewership number for Raw.

Brackets Announced for This Weekend’s RPW British J Cup; Rich Swann, Jushin Liger, Kushida, David Starr & More

Revolution Pro Wrestling has announced the final brackets for their second annual British J Cup, a tournament filled with some of the best junior heavyweight/cruiserweight superstars in the world today.

The first ever British J Cup was won by the legendary Jushin Thunder Liger, who perhaps has more accolades than any other high-flyer in the history of professional wrestling. The great Liger returns to the ring for this year’s tournament, joined by fellow NJPW stars Rocky Romero, Tiger Mask, SHO, YOH and of course New Japan juniors ace, Kushida!

Below is a list of all the first round matches. For the final brackets, check out the tweet from Rev Pro below! The tournament takes place this Saturday and Sunday in Manchester, but for those hoping to watch at home, both nights will be uploaded to the RPW On Demand streaming service shortly after they’re recorded live.

Velveteen Dream And Austin Theory Talk Trash, More Backstage Details On Why Dream Is Making EVOLVE Appearances

As noted, WWE NXT star Velveteen Dream, who defeated Johnny Gargano in the main event of this week’s episode of NXT, will be competing in two matches at EVOLVE events this weekend. On September 7th, in Joppa, MD, Dream will face Austin Theory, and on September 8th in Queens, NYC, Dream will face Darby Allin.

According to The Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dream heading to EVOLVE was something he personally asked to do, as he began his wrestling career at Maryland Championship Wrestling in Joppa, MD, and wants to return to the city. Dream began his career in Maryland alongside fellow WWE star Lio Rush.

Velveteen Dream And Austin Theory Talk Trash

In related news, WWN Live has issued the following, highlighting the trash talking between Velveteen Dream and Austin Theory ahead of their EVOLVE match:

Anything can happen in pro wrestling in 2018. Did you check out Velveteen Dream at the WWE PC talking about EVOLVE and his first-time-ever match vs. Austin Theory this Friday in Joppa, MD. This match could main event Wrestlemania one day, but there is only one first time. This will be a homecoming for Dream, who trained at the MCW Arena. Watch the promo here.

The Rock stated that the Make A Wish charity asked him for a “rush wish” and he shared a video to a young fan who he knew all about hoping to make her day.
