11/27 WWE NXT vs. AEW Dynamite Rating Info – Black & Yellow Wins Again, Both Shows Down

WWE NXT beat out AEW Dynamite in overall viewers last Wednesday night, for the second week in a row. Both shows saw significant drops, and we are just now getting final numbers due to Thanksgiving delaying everything last week.

The black-and-yellow brand dropped 11.6% and was watched by 810,000 viewers. It’s not the lowest number the show has done on the USA Network, but given the heavy exposure the NXT brand got at Survivor Series many were surprised by the score.

Dynamite was down 25.8% with just 663,000 viewers, which is by far the lowest number the show has done since debuting on TNT. All Elite Wrestling still technically won out the night in the 18-49 demographic, with a 0.26 rating (down 33.3%) to NXT’s 0.24 rating (down 20%).

Knockouts Legend ODB Returns to Action on Impact Wrestling, Scores Big Win

It was ODB appreciation night on Impact Wrestling this Tuesday, as the promotion invited the Knockouts legend back to help raise money to restore her food truck, which burned down shortly after the AEW All Out pay-per-view earlier this year.

ODB addressed the New York crowd, thanking fans for their outpouring of support in recent months. She talked about “smoking meat and pulling pork” for the the last three years, as the food truck was her primary source of income and the plan she set up for herself for life after professional wrestling.

The five-time champion’s return was cut short by the current champion Taya Valkyrie, who relentless mocked ODB to the point of provoking physical violence. The two ended up facing off in Impact’s main event, and ODB picked up a win via rollup after Jordynne Grace came out and stole the Knockouts Championship from a drunken John E. Bravo.

Malakai Black/Aleister Black debuts on AEW Dynamite Road Rager

The former Aleister Black in WWE is now part of AEW, debuting as Malachi Black on Wednesday’s Road Rager edition of Dynamite.

Arn Anderson was in the ring with Tony Schiavone and was about to say something when the lights went out for a minute. After they came back on, Black was standing in the ring and threw a Black Mass kick, dropping Anderson.

Cody Rhodes then got in the ring to confront Black. After some shared words, Black motioned like he had no issue and then Rhodes also ate a Black Mass kick before Black eventually left the ring.

The announce team revealed his new name during the segment with Excalibur referencing their past matches 15 years ago when he was Tommy End.

Black was released on June 2nd along with several other WWE talents, but Dave Meltzer reported that he only had a 30-day non-compete. PWInsider reported the reason it was only 30 days was due to a clerical error as when Black got called up to the main roster, WWE didn’t adjust this contract to the standard 90-day clause.

Zelina Vega, Black’s wife, made her WWE return last Friday on SmackDown after being released last November.

Last month, Dave Meltzer reported that the belief was that Black was AEW-bound, but there was a chance WWE would make an offer to have him return after believing they may have made a mistake in releasing him.

Norwich City sign Nice star Lees-Melou for £4.5m

Norwich City have signed Nice midfielder Pierre Lees-Melou for a fee believed to be in the region of £4.5m, the club have confirmed.

The 28-year-old midfielder, who has Champions League and Europa League experience and made more than 150 top-flight appearances in France, joins the promoted Canaries for an undisclosed fee on a three-year deal. Sky Sports have reported that the deal is worth £3.5m plus £1m in add-ons.

“I’m very excited to join Norwich City and discover my new future with the club and its fans,” he told the club’s website. “I can’t wait to play football in Norwich colours.

England trio named in Euro 2020 team of tournament

Three England players are included in the Euro 2020 team of the tournament, while five are taken from Italy’s winning squad.

England enjoyed an unforgettable run to a first ever European Championship final, where they suffered a heart-breaking penalty shoot-out loss to Italy on Sunday.

The triumphant Azzurri have five players in UEFA’s team of the tournament and Gareth Southgate’s men boast three, joined by one each from Belgium, Denmark and Spain.

England right-back Kyle Walker and centre-back Harry Maguire have been named in defence along with Leonardo Bonucci, who was man of the match in the final, and Leonardo Spinazzola, who suffered an Achilles injury in the quarter-final.

Player of the tournament Gianluigi Donnarumma is goalkeeper, with Italy midfielder Jorginho joined by Denmark’s Pierre Emile-Hojbjerg and Spain’s 18-year-old Pedri, who was named young player of the tournament.

Belgium striker Romelu Lukaku and Italy star Federico Chiesa are joined in attack by England forward Raheem Sterling, who scored three goals during an impressive Euro 2020 campaign.

The selection was made by UEFA’s technical observer team comprised of 16 former players and coaches, including David Moyes, Packie Bonner and Robbie Keane.

Agent of Chelsea star ‘confirms’ Juve have ‘interest’ in him

Juventus are showing interest in Chelsea and Italy midfielder Jorginho after he won Euro 2020, according to the player’s agent.

The 29-year-old joined Chelsea in 2018 from Napoli for £50m plus add-ons.

Jorginho shone for the Blues in 2020/21 as he helped them beat Manchester City in the final of the Champions League.

The midfielder has also enjoyed a stellar summer with Italy at the European Championships. He missed a penalty in the shootout against England in the final but he impressed as Roberto Mancini’s side beat the Three Lions.

Now the player’s agent – Joao Santos – has confirmed (via Italian outlet Calciomercato) that Juventus are showing interest in the Chelsea star.

Santos admitted that they will “evaluate” if bids come in for Jorginho:

“He has a two-year contract and it’s all in the hands of the club. There is the World Club Championship, there is the European Super Cup. For a footballer, these are important goals.

“But, the transfer market is always the transfer market and if a major club comes forward seriously with Chelsea then we will evaluate. At the moment, Jorginho will play it at Chelsea next season”

Santos went onto add that “many are interested” in Jorginho after he lifted the Euro 2020 trophy:

“I confirm it, these interests have arrived. Of course, at 29 he can do very well in all the top European clubs and many are interested in him. However, I want to close by saying that I am happy that today all Italians can breathe the air of Champions.”

Elsewhere, Jermaine Jenas has accused Jorginho of faking an injury in the Euro 2020 final:

“His foot deflects off the ball and catches Jack right on the top of his knee,” Jenas said during BBC commentary.

“He’s [Grealish] is fuming. It’s not a great challenge, it’s a poor challenge, he’s gone with his studs, it’s a shocking challenge in the end.

“Seeing it over and over again and the angle he’s gone in with his studs. It’s a terrible challenge.

“When I saw him [Jorginho] get up and then throw himself back down to the ground I thought, ‘you’ve done something wrong here’.”

England stars ‘shocked’ by Southgate decision in Italy loss

Some England players were surprised by Gareth Southgate’s decision to put Bukayo Saka in the first five penalty takers against Italy, according to reports.

The 19-year-old Arsenal forward’s penalty was saved by Gianluigi Donnarumma to hand Italy victory in the Euro 2020 final with some fans and pundits feeling more experienced England players should have been taking a spot-kick.

The clash with Italy ended 1-1 after extra-time, with Roberto Mancini’s men silencing Wembley by triumphing 3-2 on penalties after Marcus Rashford, Jadon Sancho and Saka failed from the spot in the shoot-out.

And now the Daily Mail claim some of England’s players ‘were shocked’ by Southgate’s decision to award Saka the crucial fifth penalty in the shoot-out.

More experienced players such as Raheem Sterling, Luke Shaw and Jack Grealish didn’t make the cut as they were left for possible sudden death.

Having ‘never previously taken a penalty at senior level’ the England players ‘were shocked that a teenager had been put in a position to determine the outcome of their biggest match in 55 years’.

The list of penalty takers was decided by a ‘league table’ drawn up by England coach Steve Holland, who had been monitoring ‘players’ performances from the spot in training last season’.

The report adds that if Saka had scored his penalty then he was ‘due to be followed by Grealish, [Jordan] Pickford and Kalvin Phillips in that order, with Sterling not due to take one until England’s ninth penalty at the earliest.’

Pickford was apparently set to be England’s sixth penalty taker, only for Grealish to insist on taking one and therefore moving up the order from eighth to sixth.

Rashford, Sancho and Saka were all subjected to abusive posts in the wake of their missed penalties in the shoot-out.

Figures within the sport, from the Government and even the Duke of Cambridge were united in their condemnation for the abuse, and Three Lions captain Harry Kane said on Twitter: “Three lads who were brilliant all summer had the courage to step up and take a pen when the stakes were high.

“They deserve support and backing not the vile racist abuse they’ve had since last night. If you abuse anyone on social media you’re not an England fan and we don’t want you.”

BURRRRN IT DOWWWWN! Seth comes to the ring and he says that he wants to introduce everyone to the first two men that want to live on the right side of history…AKAM & REZAR. Seth says that he is the future and everyone has been saying so. This year he did the impossible and beat the Beast not once but twice. EVERYBODY was saying it. The critics, ownership….everyone.

Then suddenly…the mood changed and people started to question his leadership as if he has done something wrong. But he says that being a leader isn’t about being cool or making popular decisions. It’s about making decisions for the sake of progress. He says what happened to Kevin Owens was a tragedy but he did it to himself. Kevin resisted and he became an example. He is always honest with the WWE Universe, and that is not going to change. So here is some truth, and this might be hard for some to accept: he is a leader and a visionary. He is going to be the man that leads the brand and this industry into the next decade and beyond.

He says that he will impose his will, and if they resist, the AOP will ENFORCE his will. That said, he is going to make a decision tonight about settling a score and the people aren’t going to like it. So in advance…for what he has to do tonight, he’s sorry.

THE VIKING RAIDERS vs. THE OC

Karl Anderson has a mic in hand and he says that The Viking Raiders are one of the most unstoppable forces that the WWE has seen in decades. But the only team that has a victory over them is THE OC. Gallows says that they might be the tag team champions, but THEY’re the best tag team in the world.

Gallows starts the match with Ivar and Gallows hits a boot to Ivar, then drives him back with an uppercut. He tags in Karl Anderson and Ivar slams Anderson back into his corner and then beats up on him before tagging Eric. Eric hits a hard right hand to the jaw of Anderson before picking him up and holding him in a stalling vertical suplex! Eric goes for the cover but Anderson kicks out. Anderson tags in Gallows and Eric quickly hits Gallows with a BIG right hand, sending him to the outside. He charges up for a suicide dive and gets nailed with a right hand.

Back in the ring, Gallows puts Ivar in a sleeper, but he quickly fights out. Gallows tags in Anderson and he puts a neck breaker onto Ivar. Gallows & Anderson look to double team Ivar now, but he does a handspring off the ropes and nails elbows to both member of the OC! The OC rolls out of the ring and The Viking Raiders go running off the ropes and nail both members of the OC with suicide dives!

Back in the ring, Eric nails Anderson with a vicious knee before dropkicking Gallows into the corner. Eric picks up Ivar and drops him into the corner then goes for the cover and Gallows gets his shoulder up. Gallows tags in Anderson, who charges in with an uppercut, which rocks Eric but knocks him into Ivar, who tags in. Ivar gets on the middle rope and then he gets to the top rope. He tries for a moonsault and Gallows pulls Anderson out of the way. Anderson gets up and knocks Eric off the apron then both men pick up Ivar and nail him with the MagiKiller to pick up the victory!

Winners: THE OC

WWE Announces Big 6-Man Tag Team Match for Monday Night Raw

WWE has announced that Randy Orton will team with Raw Tag Team Champions The Viking Raiders to take on AJ Styles, Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson of The O.C. The six-man tag team match will go down next week on Monday Night Raw.

Santa Claus Wins WWE 24/7 Title in the Streets of NYC, Referee Storms Off

The WWE 24/7 Championship was won and lost multiple times during tonight’s Christmas-themed episode of Monday Night Raw, as R-Truth embarked on a sightseeing tour in the city that never sleeps.

The adventure turned into a wild chase through the streets of New York, from the Barclays Center to Columbus Circle, to the world famous Rockefeller Center. Not only did R-Truth become a 25-time champion and the 69th overall champion (nice!), but Akira Tozawa and even Santa Claus himself got in on the action.

The night ended abruptly however as WWE referee John Cone stormed off, furious at having chased both Superstars around the city all night in the freezing cold.
