— According to a report by the Twitter user @fightoracle, who has mixed results as a source, WrestleMania 36 from the WWE Performance Center won’t go down as currently planned. The report adds that the reason WWE made this announcement is for insurance purposes as one of the clauses in their policy is that in the event of pandemic or other similar crisis, the company needs to show that they have tried to mitigate damages – in this case, find an alternate venue or production site. The announcement of the move to the PC is said to be a way to satisfy that requirement.
— The report adds that the belief internally is that the city of Orlando will then move to shut down WrestleMania at the PC and WWE would subsequently then get paid out by their insurer. The company would then look to move WrestleMania to a later date and June 7 at Madison Square Garden was noted in the report as a target date.

According to exclusive new reporting by the UK Independent, citing information contained in documents leaked by NSA whistleblower Edward Snowden, the British government maintains a secret monitoring station that allows Western intelligence agencies to tap into telecommunication systems across the Middle East.
Though the reporting did not reveal the exact location of the station, which sifts through electronic data extracted from “underwater fibre-optic cables passing through the region,” the British government claims the program is a centerpiece of the US and UK’s so called “war on terror” as key agencies, including the CIA, NSA, and GCHQ, pour over the information provided.
Strikingly, the Independent‘s reporting caused Glenn Greenwald, the journalist behind much of the reporting so far on the NSA documents, to question publicly how the newspaper received the information contained in its ‘exclusive.’ At the Guardian on Friday morning, Greenwald wrote:
The indication, it seems, was that following the recent detention of Greenwald’s partner David Miranda at Heathrow Airport and the confiscation of his electronic equipment—widely believed to contain at least portions of the information provided by Snowden–that it may have been the government itself who leaked portions of that information to the Independent.
Greenwald, who has been in consistent communication with Snowden via email, then quoted the whistleblower himself, who said:
The suggestion that his newspaper was “duped” their reporting was met with derision by the Independent‘s Oliver Wright, who tweeted: “For the record: The Independent was not leaked or ‘duped’ into publishing today’s front page story by the Government.”

But still, argued Greenwald:
According to the Independent, the authority of the secret program was sanctioned from the highest levels of government, with certificates reauthorizing it are renewed every six months. In addition, indications exist that
“The data-gathering operation is part of a £1bn internet project still being assembled by GCHQ,” the newspaper reports.
In addition, the monitoring of fiber-optic cables seems to be part of a larger surveillance, code-named “Tempora”, which includes separate infrastructure that monitor satellite dishes and telephone lines and “whose wider aim is the global interception of digital communications, such as emails and text messages.”
As the newspaper reports:

McLaren F1 boss Andrea Seidl says a positive case of COVID-19 among his troops could jeopardize the team’s efforts in the fierce battle for P3 that rages in the Constructors’ championship.
Renault holds a one-point lead over McLaren and Racing Point in the standings, with four races to go. As the trio heads into a thrilling showdown, the slightest disruption could lead to any one of the contenders losing its footing, and a significant financial windfall.
As positive coronavirus cases continue to trend higher in Europe, risks of contagion within a team are also increasing, inciting Seidl to boost McLaren’s protective measures.

“Luck and bad luck with corona can help decide the three-way battle for third place in the constructors’ championship,” said the German, quoted by Auto Motor und Sport.
“Our people are extremely disciplined and the team does a great job. But of course, you also need luck. It’s so easy to get infected and a lot of things in hotels or airports are beyond our control.”

McLaren can however control the processes and protocols in force at its Woking Factory.
“People in the factory can never meet,” Seidl explained. “When the shift changes, we avoid overlapping the two shifts. One shift finishes, then there is a break and the next shift starts a little later.
“The big meetings, like the post-race speech in front of the team, have been cancelled. We are now doing that on digital platforms.
“We have a pool of people who are on call at home – former members of the racing team or those who work in vehicle construction.”
Both Sergio Perez and Lance Stroll were sidelined at one point this year by the coronavirus. Former McLaren charger Stoffel Vandoorne would be the team’s go-to substitue in the event that either Carlos Sainz or Lando Norris test positive.
But Sky F1’s Paul di Resta could also get the call-up. “In an absolute emergency, we would have a seat ready for Paul di Resta too,” Seidl said.

The organisers of the multiple-220 Triathlon Award winning Outlaw have announced a new middle-distance event for September 2019.
The Outlaw X will celebrate the tenth anniversary year of Outlaw (pictured) and will take place in the grounds of Thoresby Hall in north Nottinghamshire on Sunday 22 September. The event, say the organisers, will provide triathletes of all abilities with an opportunity to finish the 2019 racing season on a high.

Following a 1.9km swim in Thoresby Lake, athletes will embark on a 90km ride through the Nottinghamshire countryside before completing the journey with a 21.1km run through 1,000 acres of English countryside within the grounds of the historic Thoresby Hall.
Once the racing is complete and the last athlete has been cheered across the line in front of the Grade 1 listed 19th century hall, the special Outlaw X Awards Party will begin, which will look back on 10 years of the Outlaw and celebrate the special individuals who have been integral to its journey.

Derby-based HUUB will be the headline partner for the 2019 Triathlon Relays Championships, as the national event returns to Nottingham for its 29th year in August.
Competitors on 24 August are invited to a HUUB BBQ (Huubecue) and will have the opportunity to visit a retail stand with special weekend prices. There’s also the opportunity to take advantage of HUUB’s club kit offer with over 2500 different colour options.
The Triathlon Relays were established as a college project in 1991, and have grown from a few hundred lycra-clad friends swimming, cycling and running around the Regatta Lake at the National Watersports Centre into an event that attracts 2000 athletes aiming for national titles.

Dean Jackson of HUUB said: “I was there at the start of the relays and it’s great for HUUB to be involved. The event has so much history, and it’s an opportunity to meet and talk to a core audience of athletes. It’s one of the best and most exciting events in the calendar.”
The opportunity to show off HUUB’s new club kit line is another reason to partner with the event, which is being organised under the banner of the Tri Society for the first time following some internal changes to the structure at OSB Events.
The team remains the same that has won national awards in the past and the event will have Triathlon England national event status once again. The format is also unchanged with four competitors each completing a 500m swim, 15k bike and 5km run tag relay.
Event director, Iain Hamilton said: “The Tri Society name has always existed, but OSB Events grew so fast that we stuck with that name. The concept was that it was a group of people that really cared about triathlon, and so it makes complete sense that Dean and HUUB are involved.”
He added: “The HUUB Triathlon Relay Championships are for competitors, for clubs and most of all for fun. We hope to see lots of teams taking part again this year.”
