All Elite Wrestling issued a press release today hyping next week’s Double or Nothing ticket announcement party.
The ticket announcement party will take place at the Splash Pool at the MGM Grand Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada at 9 p.m. Eastern time (6 p.m. Pacific) on Thursday, February 7. AEW is promoting that Cody Rhodes, The Young Bucks, and Brandi Rhodes will “reveal spectacular new signings, exciting new partnerships, ticket on-sale information, and a surprise special guest” at the party.
Hangman Page and SoCal Uncensored (Christopher Daniels, Frankie Kazarian, and Scorpio Sky) are also advertised as appearing.
This week’s episode of Being the Elite ended with a cliffhanger where a countdown clock began for Kenny Omega. It ends on the day of the ticket party.
The ticket announcement party will be open to fans on a first come, first served basis. It will stream live on the Being the Elite YouTube channel, AEW’s Twitter account, The Young Bucks’ Facebook page, and Brandi’s Instagram.
Double or Nothing is taking place at the MGM Grand Garden Arena on Saturday, May 25.
“We promised to change the wrestling landscape in 2019, and it’s already starting to shift,” Cody Rhodes said in the press release. “Our roster is growing every day with awesome acquisitions, we’re gathering incredible momentum among our fanbase, and we’re poised to sell out the Double or Nothing event in record speed. Whether you can join us in person next week or plan to follow the news socially, get ready to party with us on February 7, and let’s start the countdown to Double or Nothing on May 25.”

WWE Network specials on “Mean” Gene Okerlund and Nigel McGuinness premiered last month. An edition of WWE Chronicle focused on Paige and a WWE 24 episode on last year’s WrestleMania aired on the Network over Royal Rumble weekend.

ROH lead announcer Kevin Kelly has taken an expanded role in the Ring of Honor office.
Kelly is working full-time in the office as the top assistant to ROH head booker Delirious (Hunter Johnston).
Sources say Kelly has absorbed several duties that were shared before and most decisions will go through Kelly before going to Delirious.
The office shift parallels the recent booking shift, where Christopher Daniels was put in charge of certain agent duties at ROH live events to help lift the load from Delirious.
Back in the office, an unpopular decision was made to release content producer George Carroll, who worked behind the scenes developing TV angles.
Carroll, who was let go on July 11, was a favorite among many of the ROH wrestlers. One top ROH wrestler was not happy at all about Carroll’s release, pointing to his quality work since being hired in 2014.
The door is open for Carroll to return at some point in the future, though.

The winner of this year’s New Japan Cup will receive an IWGP Heavyweight Championship shot at Madison Square Garden.
NJPW has announced that new IWGP Heavyweight Champion Jay White will defend his title against the New Japan Cup winner at G1 Supercard at Madison Square Garden on Saturday, April 6. ROH and NJPW are partnering together for the show.
Previously, the stipulation for the New Japan Cup has been that the winner would receive a title shot of their choosing.
White defeated Hiroshi Tanahashi to win the IWGP Heavyweight title at the New Beginning in Osaka on Monday morning. Tanahashi lost the championship in his first defense since winning it from Kenny Omega at Wrestle Kingdom 13 last month.
New Japan Cup 2019 will begin on Friday, March 8 and conclude on Sunday, March 24. NJPW has yet to announce the full list of participants for the tournament, but Kota Ibushi appeared at the New Beginning in Osaka, announced that he’s staying with NJPW, and declared that he’ll be in the New Japan Cup.

One of the match types from All In is returning for All Elite Wrestling’s first show.
Episode four of AEW’s “Road to Double or Nothing” series was uploaded today. It was announced that the Over Budget Battle Royale is returning for Double or Nothing, with Sonny Kiss, United Kingdom wrestler Kip Sabian, and Brandon Cutler being spotlighted as three of the entrants for the match.
Cody Rhodes mentioned that they have a “really great incentive” for the battle royal winner but said he can’t speak about that now.
Kiss made his first appearance for AEW at this month’s ticket announcement party. Cutler is returning to the Over Budget Battle Royale after having been an entrant in last year’s match.
The first Over Budget Battle Royale aired on the “Zero Hour” portion of All In. Flip Gordon, who wasn’t announced for the match in advance, entered dressed as Chico El Luchador and eliminated Bully Ray to win. Gordon received an ROH World Championship shot against Jay Lethal on the All In main card as a stipulation of winning the battle royal.
Double or Nothing is taking place at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada on Saturday, May 25.

WWE Draft Week was about as even as it gets in terms of viewing audiences for the July 18 Raw and the July 19 live Smackdown/WWE Draft back-to-back nights on USA Network.
Raw scored a 2.22 TV rating to Smackdown’s 2.20 rating. However, the Draft/Smackdown drew more viewers and held off Raw when accounting for DVR viewership.
The Draft/Smackdown total viewing audience was 3.416 million viewers (live + DVR), compared to Raw’s total audience of 3.401 million viewers (average of all three hours + average DVR’ing per hour).
Raw was hurt by drawing the fewest DVR viewers of the year. Perhaps because of a second live show during the week the night after Raw, many viewers choose not to watch Raw after it aired.
Raw’s three hours averaged 268,333 DVR viewers, down 31 percent from the July 11 Raw’s DVR audience. It was the first time this year that Raw averaged fewer than 300,000 DVR viewers.
– Meanwhile, the Draft/Smackdown drew 246,000 DVR viewers, which was slightly above-average.
The final Thursday night airing on July 14 drew a huge number of 345,000 DVR viewers seemingly out of nowhere. Smackdown typically drew in the low 200k range Thursday nights on USA.
The first quarter average was 223,000 DVR viewers and the second quarter average was 210,000 DVR viewers.
– The DVR chart ranked Smackdown #1 on cable TV, followed by WWE Raw’s first hour #2, the second hour #3, and the third hour #5.
