Europa draw: Man Utd set to face Copenhagen or Istanbul Basaksehir

Man Utd will face Copenhagen or Istanbul Basaksehir in the Europa League quarter-finals.

The draw for next month’s eight-team mini-tournament in Germany was made at an empty auditorium in Nyon, Switzerland.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side are all but through having won 5-0 at LASK in the first leg of their last-16 tie and United will face Copenhagen or Istanbul Basaksehir in the single-leg quarter-finals.

MEDIAWATCH: Why are Solskjaer and Pogba both ‘warning’ Greenwood?

Wolves would play Roma or Sevilla in the quarter-finals if they overcome Olympiacos, who they drew 1-1 with in the first leg Greece.

Rangers head to Bayer Leverkusen trailing 3-1 from the first leg in Germany and will be rewarded with a match against Inter Milan or Getafe if they manage an almighty comeback.

Shakhtar Donetsk or Wolfsburg against Basel or Frankfurt is the other quarter-final.

United and Wolves could face one another in an all-English semi-final should both teams progress that far, while Rangers’ last-four opponents would be Basel, Frankfurt, Shakhtar or Wolfsburg.

Barcelona ‘like’ Spurs defender as they eye shock deal

Barcelona are interested in bringing Spurs left-back Ryan Sessegnon to the Camp Nou this summer, according to reports in Spain.

The 20-year-old has had to endure a difficult start to his Tottenham career following his £25million summer move from Fulham, where he became a teenage sensation known for his left-wing displays.

He first had to overcome a serious hamstring injury, then was sparingly used by former boss Mauricio Pochettino before being deployed at left-back by Jose Mourinho.

MAILBOX: Next year is Man Utd’s year and Mourinho’s last at Spurs

Sessegnon has only made 12 appearances in all competitions this campaign and is yet to make an appearance since the Premier League restarted last month.

Sessegnon did not play for Spurs until November, which was a far cry from his time at Fulham, where he was well on his way to 100 appearances by his 18th birthday.

Despite his lack of game time, Mundo Deportivo journalist Miguel Rico (via Sport Witness) claims that Barcelona ‘like’ Sessegnon with the Catalan giants hoping to bring in a back-up wing-back to cover Jordi Alba.

However, there is one ‘problem’ with Barcelona’s surprising pursuit of Sessegnon with the La Liga outfit needing to offload Junior Firpo before making their move.

Liverpool doc shares horrific details of stitching Gerrard’s penis

Former Liverpool team doctor Andrew Massey has revealed how Steven Gerrard’s penis was the first he stitched back together after the former midfielder tore it during a match.

An FA Cup tie against Bournemouth in January 2014 left Gerrard needing stitches in his penis following a tackle that saw him in a bad way.

Massey, who is now FIFA’s head doctor, joined Liverpool in 2013 as their academy doctor before being promoted to team doctor on an interim basis a year later before landing the job permanently.

FEATURE: The Premier League’s record three-season points hauls

On the incident, Massey told The Sun: “Stevie came over to me at the end of the match and said, ‘Doc, you are going to have to have a look at this’.

“I looked down and saw blood everywhere and thought, ‘Wow, that must be really sore’.

“I was trying to think back to my medical training and nowhere in my training does it teach you how to stitch a penis.

“I thought, ‘I don’t want the first penis I’ve stitched to be Steven Gerrard’s but it was’.”

On the incident, Gerrard praised Massey, he said: “Doc Massey spoke to a few people and the room cleared. I took off my shorts and underpants and had one last look. Ouch. I hoped I wasn’t saying goodbye to an old friend.

“I got a jab first and then, careful not to look at what he was doing, I could tell he wasn’t feeling too comfortable about it either. Doc Massey must have wished that he could have stayed at home treating the Academy kids’ cuts and bruises.

“I didn’t talk much, though. I wanted him fully concentrated. He did a good job. I felt no pain as he put in the stitches – four as he had predicted – and I walked back into the dressing room.”

He added: “The magic of the FA Cup was bloodied on the day my penis was cut and then stitched shut. The only surprise that Saturday, was an eye-watering laceration to my private parts.

“I pulled my shorts a couple of inches away from my waist and managed a sneaky check. My underpants were bloodied. My mind was racing, I was concerned that something serious had happened.

“I discreetly pulled back my underpants as well as my shorts for a longer look. I ran over to the touchline, straight to Brendan [Rodgers]. I also called over to Chris Morgan and Andy Massey.

“I said to Brendan, ‘Look, I’ve got a problem here…’ I nodded down to my privates. ‘There’s a big gash … it’s bleeding,’ I said.

“Chris acted quickly. He called a few of the backroom team over and they formed a little huddle so no one else could see what we were doing as I opened up my shorts. Brendan peered down, grimaced and shook his head.”

Gerrard continued: “I played on. The pain wasn’t too bad – just the dull ache that follows the sharp slicing sensation when your skin first gets cut open.

“All the lads were falling about laughing. We had won, the atmosphere was good and they thought it was hilarious. I got zero sympathy from any of the lads.

“The lads were absolutely p***ing themselves now and you can imagine how many jokes about inches and stitches, penis size and my future performances at home with Alex. I might have smiled but I could have throttled the lot of them.

“A bunch of footballers are the last people you want discussing the state of your sliced penis.”

The current Liverpool side host Burnley on Saturday as they look to move closer to a record Premier League points haul.

Keane takes swipe at Pogba despite scoring in Man Utd win

Roy Keane says that Paul Pogba “wants to be the main guy” on social media but not on the pitch for Man Utd as he doubts his leadership abilities.

The World Cup winner scored his first goal of an injury-ravaged campaign on Thursday, wrapping up a 3-0 Premier League win at embattled Aston Villa.

Pogba is playing with a smile on his face a year on from admitting his openness to a move away from Old Trafford, with the France international even reportedly willing to extend his deal.

FEATURE: Aston Villa 0-3 Manchester United: 16 Conclusions

Despite his improving performances, Keane still thinks that Pogba is more interested in social media than being a leader on the pitch for Man Utd.

Keane told Sky Sports: “What I would say about Pogba, we’ve been saying for the last year or two that he needs to take more of a lead with the team. I don’t think he wants to be a leader. I think he’ll enjoy that Harry Maguire has come into the club, showing different leadership skills.

“And obviously Fernandes, leadership skills on the pitch. And I think Pogba likes that. I don’t think he necessarily wants to be the main guy. He probably wants to be the main guy on the social media side of things, but on the pitch he’s thinking, ‘I’m glad of that, I’ll just be under that radar’.

“We’ve always said he’s got that quality, and I think he never really wanted to be that leader at Man United. He doesn’t have to be now because he’s got a couple of other lads around him and he looks like he’s enjoying himself a bit more.”

Jeffrey Epstein Autopsy Reveals Broken Neck Bones: Report

NEW YORK — An autopsy found broken bones in Jeffrey Epstein’s neck that suggest the pedophile financier either hanged himself or was choked to death, a new report says.

Medical examiners determined Epstein had a broken hyoid bone following his death at Lower Manhattan’s Metropolitan Correctional Center, The Washington Post reported early Thursday.

The injury can appear in people who have killed themselves by hanging but is more common in those who were fatally strangled, the paper reported, citing research and forensic experts.

The reported findings raise further questions about the cause of Epstein’s death as he awaited trial in Manhattan on federal sex-trafficking charges. Officials have said he apparently took his own life, but the city’s Office of Chief Medical Examiner has not ruled on the cause and manner of his death.

Chief Medical Examiner Barbara Sampson said the findings of the autopsy have to be taken together. Her office says it is still studying the cause of Epstein’s death.

“In all forensic investigations, all information must be synthesized to determine the cause and manner of death,” Sampson said in a statement. “Everything must be consistent; no single finding can be evaluated in a vacuum.”
