Snitsky (real name Eugene Alan Snisky) is best known for his time with WWE from 2004 through 2008. During his time with WWE, he faced many of WWE’s top stars including John Cena, Triple H, Kane, Jeff Hardy and CM Punk. Snitsky trained under WWE Hall of Famer Afa at WXW, who secured him a tryout match at a RAW Television Event on October 20th, 2003 in Wilkes Barre, Pennsylvania. In a dark match before RAW aired live on Spike TV, Snitsky lost to Tommy Suede.
WWE offered Snitsky a developmental contract a few months later and he joined Ohio Valley Wrestling in Louisville, Kentucky in June 2004. As the brother of Mike Mondo, he began wrestling under the moniker of “Mean” Gene Mondo (a name inspired by WWE Hall of Famer “Mean” Gene Okerlund). Snitsky did not stay in OVW for long, however. On September 13, 2004, Snitsky made his WWE debut on RAW in a No Disqualification Match against Kane. Snitsky then turned face and formed a brief partnership with Goldust, defeating various tandems on WWE Heat. They earned an opportunity to challenge the Spirit Squad for the World Tag Team Championship on RAW on May 15, 2006, but were unsuccessful. The team broke up when WWE released Goldust the following month.
After being relegated to WWE Heat, vignettes began to air on ECW on Syfy in January 2007 hyping his arrival to the brand. Snitsky’s character underwent an extreme overhaul as WWE began to portray him as a psychotic madman. He drastically changed his appearance for the role by shaving his hair and eyebrows and giving his teeth a darkish yellow color with the use of paint from a New York City stage makeup company. The idea for this bizarre yet menacing character came from Vince McMahon.
“Mr. McMahon said, ‘Snitsky, I want you to go home and shave all your hair off and go see the makeup lady to see what we can do to make your teeth look dirty or yellow,’” Snitsky recalled in a 2014 interview with WWE.com.
The reborn Snitsky terrorized the likes of CM Punk, Bobby Lashley, Rob Van Dam, Hardcore Holly and even Extreme Exposé. After going undefeated on ECW on Syfy, WWE transferred Snitsky back to RAW in June 2007 in the WWE Draft. In his first match back, he quickly beat The Miz. The monstrous wrestler continued his undefeated streak until it was put to an end by John Cena on RAW on August 20, 2007, albeit via disqualification. After suffering a clean loss to Intercontinental Champion Jeff Hardy on RAW on December 3, 2007, Snitsky found himself competing less often on Monday nights.
On December 11, 2008, WWE announced the release of Snitsky from his contract, thus ending his association with the organization after four years. Since leaving WWE a decade ago, Snitsky has mostly worked for various independent wrestling promotions in his home state of Pennsylvania. He had a brief stint with TNA in the summer of 2014 where he was aligned with president Dixie Carter until she fired him over losing a match.

It was previously reported that Brock Lesnar was initially not scheduled and booked for The SummerSlam PPV Event but was rumored to end up competing at the show as the weeks went by. According to the latest reports, Brock Lesnar will indeed not be competing at The SummerSlam PPV Event and the next time we may see him would be well into the second half of the year.
WWE’s plan remains to still have a babyface Roman Reigns defeat Lesnar for The Universal Title but at some point over the last two weeks, it became clear to Vince McMahon that this wasn’t going to happen in New York, the site of SummerSlam. It was then that McMahon made the decision to keep Lesnar and The Universal Title Match off of the SummerSlam card and instead spend the next few months once again attempting to build Reigns back up as a face.
This would also explain why the company quickly changed course with the originally planned Multi-Person Match at Extreme Rules, which was supposed to determine the new #1 contender and thus, Lesnar’s opponent for SummerSlam. With Lesnar likely off the next couple of PPVs, the match was scrapped and instead we are headed towards a Roman Reigns vs. Bobby Lashley singles match at Extreme Rules.
Lesnar’s status with WWE remains unclear, but he is under contract for one more match (at the very least) which is when most expect he will drop the title. It appears that WWE is willing to wait it out in order to find the very best situation in which they want him to appear while still fulfilling their long term plan for Roman Reigns.

At such a young age, Tessa Blanchard has already proven why she is one of the best female wrestlers on the entire planet. Fans were disappointed when WWE decided not to sign her after her performance in the Mae Young Classic last year, but Blanchard has since begun working in Impact Wrestling. Blanchard has been competing for Impact for several months now, but the 22-year-old third-generation wrestling has now officially signed a long-term deal with the promotion that will see her compete there for years and year to come. Blanchard will still be able to compete on the independent circuit during her Impact run, which could end up making her one of the biggest female talents in the entire world.

Shinsuke Nakamura had been out of action for a number of weeks after it was confirmed that he was bitten by a police dog a few weeks back. His previously announced match with Jeff Hardy was moved to the Extreme Rules pay-per-view, but after it was announced last night that he would be facing AJ Styles one more time during tongiht’s Smackdown show, fans began to wonder if this meant that “The king of Strong Style” had been cleared to compete. Nakamura has indeed been cleared by WWE’s doctors to wrestle again as he just returned to the ring during last night’s WWE live event in Augusta, Main. Nakamura fought AJ Styles for the WWE Championship in a No Disqualification match, but he was not able to get the win.
Fans may be surprised to learn that Neville is still under contract with WWE since he has not made an appearance on television in almost a year, but that is because Neville requested his release from the company last year, and WWE has decided to have him wait out the remainder of his deal instead of just releasing him. Fans have not seen or heard much from the former NXT and Cruiserweight Champion, but a new photo of “The King of the Cruiserweights” just surfaced online recently. The Mid Breath Gym Instagram account shared a photo of Neville from when he recently visited the establishment. As of now, there is no word on Neville’s current status with WWE or when his current deal is set to expire.

RAW General Manager Kurt Angle has announced that Ronda Rousey will get a title shot from RAW Women’s Champion Alexa Bliss at The WWE SummerSlam PPV Event.
Angle also announced that Rousey will be suspended for 1 more week. Rousey’s 30-day storyline suspension was set to end this coming Wednesday but her interference at Extreme Rules on Sunday and then her attack on Bliss at last night’s RAW led to Angle extending the suspension. Angle did say that Rousey would lose the title shot with Bliss if she pulls another stunt like she did at Extreme Rules and RAW.
SummerSlam takes place on August 19th from The Barclays Center in Brooklyn. The only other match as of this writing is the next title defense for WWE Universal Champion Brock Lesnar. His opponent will be decided next Monday in a #1 contenders match between Roman Reigns and Bobby Lashley. You can check out what transpired in the segment that involved Ronda Rousey and RAW Women’s Champion Alexa Bliss in the videos below along with the announcement of Ronda Rousey’s SummerSlam Match and the extension of her suspension:
