Dragon Wrestlers Help Out at CCRI 5K Run & Walk

MOORHEAD, Minn. — The Minnesota State University Moorhead wrestling team volunteered to help run the Creative Care For Reaching Independence Superhero 5K Run & Walk ‘n’ Roll-a-thon earlier this fall.

Dragon wrestlers and coaches helped with the set up and take down for the event, which benefited the CCRI. The race began near the large shelter at Gooseberry Mound Park located at 100 22nd Ave South in Moorhead, Minn. The race ran along a trail along the beautiful Red River into Lindenwood Park in Fargo.

CCRI has provided person-centered services that empower those with disabilities to…

Strengthen their daily living skills
Live more independently
Participate more in the community
Expand exposure to new experiences
Reach their full potential

They also support families and caregivers of those with disabilities by providing services that provide a much needed respite. Their team members assist people with personal cares, educational training, recreation and leisure, medical, social and emotional needs.

Report: John Cena & Nikki Bella Are Definitely Back Together

It was previously reported that John Cena & Nikki Bella may be back together once again. According to a recent report by People, John Cena and Nikki Bella are definitely back together once again and that the initial breakup only strengthened their commitment towards one another.
Below is the statement made by People on John Cena & Nikki Bella’s recent breakup:
“This was never really about ending their relationship— it was about calling off a wedding because something didn’t feel right. It was a wedding that was entered into under false pretenses. She was pretending she was okay with not having a kid, he was pretending he absolutely couldn’t and wouldn’t budge on that point.”

The two were said to always be on talking terms and were even recently spotted together for the first time since the news on their breakup went public. According to a source close to the couple, John Cena & Nikki Bella will eventually get married and have kids but are in no immediate rush.

News on Shield DVD, Women’s Match at UK Tournament, WWN Signings

WWE is still producing a ton of new, fun, and insightful DVDs every single year, and with the recent reunion of The Shield taking place on Raw late last year, there may be no better time to release a DVD based on the stable than right now. WrestlingDVDNetwork.com revealed some interesting details about the upcoming The Shield: Justice for All DVD. In addition to their years together as The Shield, the DVD will also dedicate some time to focus on Roman Reigns, Dean Ambrose, and Seth Rollins’ singles careers in WWE. It has also been confirmed that it will be a 3-disc set with brand new interviews from all three members of the group. The Shield’s new DVD is currently set for a July release.

There has been a lot of increased speculation about WWE’s UK division as the upcoming United Kingdom Championship Tournament draws nearer. WWE has already revealed the participants and the matches in this year’s tournament, but there may be a women’s match added to the show. Live Nation is currently advertising a Fatal 4-Way match between Toni Storm, Killer Kelly, Jinny, and Isla Dawn with the winner of that match then facing Shayna Baszler for the NXT Women’s Championship on the second night of the tournament. Plenty of NXT special attraction matches have been announced for the upcoming UK show, but WWE still has yet to confirm that any sort of women’s match will be taking place.

It appears that there may be some brand new members of the WWN roster now. It was reported last week that independent wrestler Josh Briggs signed a deal with WWN to compete for the promotions under WWN’s umbrella. A new report has just confirmed that at least two more members have decided to officially sign on with the governing body. PWInsider reported earlier today that Anthony Henry and James Drake have just signed contracts with WWN. This allows the two young wrestlers to compete for EVOLVE Wrestling, Full Impact Pro, and other promotions working with WWN. Drake is also set to participate in the upcoming WWE United Kingdom Championship tournament on the WWE Network in June.

Enzo Amore Releases Music Video, News on Main Roster Stars in NXT

Enzo Amore was a beloved figure among the fans when he was competing on Monday Night Raw. While working in a tag team with Big Cass, Enzo Amore quickly became a fan-favorite due to his charisma and supreme amount of confidence in the ring. Unfortunately, reports of his attitude backstage did some damage to his wrestling career, which ultimately resulted in the team with Big Cass coming to an end, and with Enzo being moved to 205 Live. After finding success as Cruiserweight Champion, Enzo was accused of sexual assault earlier this year. Amore reportedly neglected to inform WWE officials that he was being investigated by the police for the accusation, which led to the company letting him go.
It had been months since fans had heard any word from Enzo Amore, but not long after the case against him was dropped due to a lack of evidence, Enzo has been posting on social media once again. He met with some fans in Times Square earlier today, and he had been teasing that he would make an announcement regarding his future in the entertainment industry very soon. It appears that Enzo’s time in the professional wrestling industry has come to an end for right now as he has just released his first-ever music video. World Star Hip Hop just released the music video for Enzo’s new song “Phoenix” which makes references to the accusations made against him in the past.

Fans who have been in attendance for some of NXT’s recent live events have been treated to a couple of unannounced appearances from members of the Raw and Smackdown rosters. The likes of The Revival, Tyler Breeze, and Tye Dillinger have all recently returned during NXT live events as surprises. According to Cageside Seats, WWE has been implementing this tactic as a way to increase ticket sales for future NXT live events. Additionally, the company is also using helping out by booking talents who are barely used on the main roster as it is in order to strengthen NXT. Expect to see several more WWE Superstars made unexpected NXT appearances in the future.

NBCUniversal “Stunned” At Losing SD, FOX Was Hoping To Land RAW

NBCUniversal was said to be “stunned” at losing SmackDown as they never imagined that the bidding for WWE’s “B” show would ever reach the levels that it did, let alone $200 million annually, which was only reached because there were multiple suitors vying for SmackDown.
Due to their ratings situation, the decision was made that USA Network could not lose RAW and so they used their contractual right to match any offer as a way to keep the show, whereas FOX had hoped to nab RAW and put it on its main network on Monday nights. When NBCUniversal declined to match SmackDown at the $200 million range, the show entered the open market and FOX went all-in after not being able to acquire RAW.

Speculation on Bryan/Cass Match, Other Matches To Be Kept Short

On a recent edition of Wrestling Observer Live, Bryan Alvarez speculated on a finish for the upcoming Daniel Bryan vs. Big Cass Match at Money in the Bank. The suggested scenario would see The Miz interfere and cost Bryan the match in order to set up a match between the two at SummerSlam, which is one of the programs that WWE was planning since Bryan was cleared to return to the ring.
The length of the Money in the Bank PPV was also discussed as the event has two more matches than Backlash, but the event is also technically being planned to be an hour longer since wrestlers/matches from both brands are being featured. Alvarez also speculated that at least two matches – RAW Women’s Champion Nia Jax vs. Ronda Rousey & SmackDown Tag Team Champions The Bludgeon Brothers (Harper & Rowan) vs. The Club (Luke Gallows & Karl Anderson) would be kept relatively short.
Other matches on the card could also be kept short – such as SmackDown Women’s Champion Carmella vs. Asuka & Bobby Lashley vs. Sami Zayn – in order to give enough time for the two huge ladder matches as well as the Last Man Standing Match between WWE Champion AJ Styles and Shinsuke Nakamura.

WWE UK Title Tournament Results: Smith, Webster, Banks, Gibson

Just recently, a couple of matches in the WWE United Kingdom Championship Tournament first took place at the NXT Event that was held as part of the Download Festival at Donington Park in Derby, England.
In First-Round Matches, Ashton Smith defeated Joseph Conners and Flash Morgan Webster defeated James Drake. With their victories, Smith and Webster advance to the Quarterfinals of this year’s WWE United Kingdom Championship Tournament.

More matches took place just yesterday which saw Travis Banks defeat Ligero while Zack Gibson defeated Amir Jordan. Webster will now face the winner of Tyson T-Bone vs. Jordan Devlin in the quarterfinals while Smith will face Banks. Gibson will face the winner of Drew Gulak vs. Jack Gallagher, which was taped at the recent NXT TV tapings.
WWE confirmed on their website that the video of these First Round Matches taking place at Download will be released online starting next week. The WWE UK Title Tournament will be taped on Monday, June 18th and Tuesday, June 19th at Royal Albert Hall in London, England. Dunne will defend his title against the winner of the tournament at the June 19th show. The taped tournament will then air on the WWE Network on Monday, June 25th and Tuesday, June 26th at 3pm EST.

Punk Post-Hospital Update, Talks UFC 225 Loss, Jackson/Dana White

Former WWE Superstar CM Punk returned to the Octagon at UFC 225 in Chicago last Saturday night and opened the main card with a loss to Mike Jackson, who also went into the fight with a record of 0-1-0. Jackson won via unanimous decision as the judges scored the fight 30-26. You can check out the UFC on FOX recap of the fight by clicking this link.
It was previously reported that CM Punk was taken to a local hospital after the fight for a Facial CT Scan. Ariel Helwani noted on Twitter that Punk was discharged from the hospital as he suffered no injuries in the fight. Punk tweeted the following on the loss:

As previously reported, it sounds like Punk’s UFC career is done. UFC President Dana White addressed the fight at a post-show press conference and said that that is it for Punk’s UFC career, as seen below:
“No, it should be a wrap,” White said when asked about another fight. “The guy’s 39 years old. I love the guy, he’s the nicest guy in the world. We gave him 2 shots and he had a lot of heart tonight in this fight. I think he should call it a wrap.”
White did not know about Punk missing post-fight media and going to the hospital until the press conference. He praised Punk for having heart but blasted Jackson for his behavior, as seen below:
“He did, he did man. He got clipped a lot in that fight and it looked like he was hurting bad a couple of times,” White said when asked about the heart Punk displayed. “He stayed in there, he went for the 3 rounds. Michael Jackson I’m not happy with. This guy was acting like a goofball tonight. You get this opportunity to come and fight CM Punk, and you’re doing like bolo punches to the body on top. Never looked like he was trying to finish the fight, right? Looked like he could’ve finished the fight a few times. Never tried. Don’t know what that guy did for a living before we gave him the shot but whatever it was, he needs to go back and do that again. He’s 0-2 as far as I’m concerned.”

The reporter then asked White if he felt like Jackson “milked it” and tried to stay on TV longer. Below is Dana White’s response:
“I got the sense that he’s a f–king idiot and I couldn’t wait for that fight to end.” “I regretted putting it on Fight Pass. That’s how I felt about it.”
Jackson then responded to White’s comments with the following:

UFC 193: Joanna Jedrzejczyk vs Valerie Letourneau title fight announced

UFC just announced that Joanna Jedrzejczyk will defend her strawweight title on the 11/15 show at Etihad Stadium in Melbourne against Valerie Letourneau.

This will be the semi-mainevent to the Ronda Rousey vs. Holly Holm.

UFC wanted to do the obvious good booking of putting Joanna, who has a lot of charisma but her name isn’t that well known, on the same show as Rousey, particuarly since people who are more open to women fights will be the audience watching.

WWE UK Tournament Full Match: Travis Banks Vs Ligero

The WWE UK Championship Tournament continued on Friday with Travis Banks defeating Ligero in a first round match at the Download Festival in Derby, England.
Banks advances to face Ashton Smith, who defeated Joseph Connors in another first round match. Other first round winners included: Dave Mastiff, Joe Coffey, Zack Gibson, Gentleman Jack Gallagher, Flash Morgan Webster and Jordan Devlin. In upcoming quarterfinal matches, Mastiff faces Coffey, Gibson will battle Gallagher and Flash takes on Devlin.
