The McLaren F1 team officially kicks off its 2020 season today at Woking where it will pull the covers off its 2020 contender.
With Carlos Sainz and Lando Norris behind the wheel, the Renault-powered MCL35 aims to keep the papaya squad at the top of the mid-field this season, and perhaps even allow it to inch closer to the sports front-runnerss.

Mikel Arteta has praised “incredible” Kieran Tierney and explained why he turned down the chance to manage Newcastle this summer.
Arteta was appointed Arsenal manager in December and has overseen tentative progress in north London; there are reasons for fans to be oddly cheerful.
It is the Spaniard’s first senior coach in management, having turned down a number of opportunities in the past. Newcastle approached Arteta with a view to replacing compatriot Rafael Benitez at the end of last season but he opted to stay as Manchester City assistant instead.
“I was considering a situation at Newcastle United that could change my professional and personal life,” he said on the eve of their meeting on Sunday.
“I had to put everything on the table to make that decision. I made the decision to stay where I was at the time.”
Arteta believes Newcastle made the right choice by bringing in Steve Bruce.
“I believe that Newcastle are happy,” he added. “What Steve has brought to the club has been really, really good.
“The performances and results, compared to where they were last year, they are above any expectation.
“He has put together a team with great spirit and is a manager with massive, massive experience.”
Arteta also discussed left-back Tierney, who has played just 11 times this season – and not at all under the new manager – due to separate hip and shoulder injuries.
The Scot has emerged as a surprise transfer target for Leicester and former Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers, but Arteta has “been really impressed” with the summer signing.
“He’s making very good progress but we need to wait for the bone and the attachment with the tendon to heal before we can make contact,” he said.
“He’s been training, his work ethic is incredible, I’ve been really impressed with him so hopefully we can get him soon but we need to be careful and a little bit patient with him as well.”

Frank Lampard has hailed goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga’s reaction to being dropped at Chelsea.
Spaniard Kepa has battled with patchy form this term and veteran Willy Caballero stepped in for the 2-2 Premier League draw at Leicester on February 1.
Kepa could regain his starting berth for Monday’s league clash with Manchester United at Stamford Bridge though, with boss Lampard impressed with his conduct since missing out at Leicester.
“I wouldn’t say it was a jolt, I wasn’t looking for that necessarily,” said Lampard, of Kepa missing the Leicester draw.
“I think I spoke around the Leicester game, and have to pick it as I see it. It was just a selection on the day.
“Obviously there’s a bit more to it with goalkeepers, but I want everyone’s reaction all the time to be spot-on.
“Every player has it. I had it in my career many a time. You have to show character in those little moments. And I’ve been pleased with his reaction.

“The reaction has been good as I’d expect. He’s been training hard and has had his head down. So there’s a decision for me to make.”
Chelsea paid a world record fee for a goalkeeper, £72million in August 2018, to recruit Kepa from Athletic Bilbao.
The 25-year-old has struggled for any consistency this season, with a host of rumours circulating about Chelsea looking for a replacement in the summer.
Lampard proved he had no hang-ups about benching Kepa despite the price tag attached to the high-profile keeper.
The former midfielder insisted he will not let player values affect his selection judgement.
Asked if it is difficult to weigh up not starting Kepa given his transfer status, Lampard replied: “If it did then I’d have to pick the team on how much they cost.
“All the players know it doesn’t matter how you came to the club, what part of your career you’re at.
“I don’t take that into account, it’s all about how you train in the week and how you play on match day.
“I deal with the players as it feels right at the time. I try to be open and straight with them. They respect that, I certainly did as a player.”
The OurMine hacker group targeted and successfully breached security on social media accounts belonging to two very large sporting organisations
Hackers targeted La Liga giants Barcelona and the Olympic Games movement on Saturday as their Twitter accounts were attacked.
The OurMine group posted messages on multiple accounts belonging to Barcelona and the International Olympic Committee.
Barcelona have accounts in several languages and relating to various aspects of the club, including their La Masia youth academy, and all appeared to have been hacked.

The hacking incident came soon after Barca beat Getafe to join Real Madrid on 52 points at the top of LaLiga.
Each account sent out the message: “Hi, we are OurMine. Well, this is the second time, the security level is better but still not the best to improve your accounts security.”
The OurMine group previously hacked Barcelona’s Twitter in 2017, falsely claiming the club would be signing Angel Di Maria from Paris Saint-Germain.
Barcelona acknowledged the latest cybersecurity breach after taking back control of their accounts, posting: “FC Barcelona’s Twitter accounts have been hacked, which is why messages from outside our club have appeared, and which have been reported and deleted. The tweets were made through a third-party tool for data analytics.
“FC Barcelona will conduct a cybersecurity audit and will review all protocols and links with third party tools, in order to avoid such incidents and to guarantee the best service to our members and fans. We apologise for any inconvenience this situation may have caused.”
The Olympic Games accounts were similarly attacked.
Messages from OurMine were posted across its official accounts, including those for the Olympics, Athlete365 and IOC Media, before being deleted.
The hacker group has previously targeted such organisations as WikiLeaks, Real Madrid, the NFL and its teams, Facebook, Instagram and the New York Times.

Former Manchester City defender Danny Mills believes that the Etihad Stadium is the only realistic next destination for Lionel Messi should he leave Barcelona, but is not sure how the Argentine superstar would fit into Pep Guardiola’s system or who he would replace in the team.
A public fallout between Messi and Barca sporting director Eric Abidal has led to suggestions that the six-time Ballon d’Or winner could walk out the Camp Nou exit door this summer.
The Argentina international has a clause in his current contract which gives him the option to leave the club for free at the end of the season, with City reportedly hoping to capitalise on his situation.

Messi played under Guardiola at Camp Nou between 2008 and 2012 – a period which saw Barca win two European Cups and two La Liga titles.
Ex-City defender Mills believes it is possible for the pair to link up again at Etihad Stadium, but feels Guardiola would have to change his entire system to incorporate Messi into his starting line-up.
“Manchester City is the only club he could go to,” Mills told Talksport. “Because of the way that they play and his relationship with Pep Guardiola, Pep probably understands him more than anybody from his days at Barcelona.
“You think of Manchester United and there’s been talk of that, but I don’t see him going there. City is the only place I think he could come to the Premier League.
“He is sensational, we know that, but you’d have to build the whole team around him, he needs legs around him.
“And you suddenly think, well, actually, where would you play him at City? You’d have to change everything. He’d play instead of who?
“And is he really desperate to come to Manchester? He knows what the weather is like, I’m sure.
“He’s used to Barcelona and South America, I’m not sure Manchester is going to be his cup of tea.”
Guardiola himself responded to claims he could sign Messi on Friday, with the Catalan coach insisting that he hopes the playmaker retires at Camp Nou.
Messi’s frustrations in a Barca shirt continued on Thursday night, meanwhile, as the reigning Spanish champions suffered a surprise Copa Del Rey quarter-final defeat at the hands of Athletic Club.

Le chanteur Benjamin Biolay s’est emparé de son compte Twitter pour réagir au dramatique accident survenu sur le tournage de l’émission Dropped. Triste, il dénonce une télé-réalité « affreuse ».
Cela ne faisait pas partie du scénario imaginé par la production pour l’émission Dropped. En plein tournage en Argentine, une collision entre deux hélicoptères a coûté la vie à dix personnes dont les sportifs Florence Arthaud, Camille Muffat, Alexis Vastine mais aussi des membres de la production. Un drame qui n’a pas manqué de faire réagir de nombreuses personnalités du monde de la politique comme François Hollande, de la télé, de la radio, du sport ou encore de la chanson comme Benjamin Biolay.
Anéanti à l’annonce de la terrible nouvelle, le musicien a fait part de son abattement en publiant un premier message sur son compte Twitter: « l’impression que la télé réalité a fait des morts au sens propre, quelque part dans mon pays préféré… horrible ». Quelques heures plus tard, le compagnon de Vanessa Paradis s’est à nouveau emparé du réseau social pour partager son amertume envers la téléréalité. « Affreuse téléréalité qui nous impose ses vedettes en bois mais nous vole trois magnifiques athlètes. D’une tristesse sans nom. Pensées » a-t-il déploré. Un message qui n’est pas passé inaperçu auprès des internautes provoquant de vives réactions de leur part et soulignant son manque de discernement. Après ce tollé, l’artiste a rendu hommage « aux deux sirènes » (la navigatrice Florence Arthaud et la nageuse Camille Muffat) avec la chanson Mobilis in mobile de l’Affaire Louis’ Trio. Profondément touché, Benjamin Biolay laisse exprimer sa colère avec un dernier tweet: « moins de deux mois et demi après ses grands débuts, 2015 est déjà une année de merde », faisant sans doute référence aux attentats qui ont touché la France au mois de janvier.
Cette catastrophe est un nouveau coup dur pour la société Adventure Line Productions. En 2013, les équipes de productions avaient dû faire face au décès de l’un des candidats, Gérald Babin, sur le tournage de Koh-Lanta en 2013 et au suicide du médecin du programme. Dropped est aussi une téléréalité d’aventure où des personnalités du sport devaient survivre en pleine nature, importée de Suède.

Invité hier sur le plateau du Grand Journal, Pierre Niney a démontré une fois de plus l’importance qu’il accordait à son tout nouveau César. Pour l’acteur, cette récompense a un prix : il lui faudra à l’avenir s’en montrer digne.
« C’était un grand moment de surprise, d’émotion et de fierté, et en même temps, depuis j’aime bien me dire qu’il y a aussi une forme de responsabilité. » Pierre Niney, césarisé cette année pour son rôle dans Yves Saint-Laurent de Jalil Lespert, n’a pas peur des mots. Une bonne nouvelle pour un acteur de la Comédie-Française, qui a a aussi su séduire les professionnels du cinéma.
Cette récompense qui vient couronner des années de « castings galère » a une vraie signification, au-delà de la mise en valeur de ses qualités devant les caméras. « On t’a donné un prix aussi jeune, explique-t-il sur le plateau du Grand Journal, maintenant fais attention à tes prochains rôles, travaille… J’aime bien avoir une petite dose de responsabilité en même temps que d’espoir. »
Pierre Niney a rappelé, comme lors de son discours aux César, l’importance de l’accueil positif qui lui a été offert par ses pairs après ce film. « On est accueillis avec bienveillance par nos pairs, estime-t-il. On nous fait confiance, et c’est très agréable pour progresser dans ce métier. » Une progression qu’il veut rapide, en multipliant les tournages : il est actuellement en salles dans Un Homme Idéal, et sera bientôt à l’affiche d’Altamira, le prochain film de Hugh Hudson avec Antonio Banderas.

La maladie de Charcot n’en finit pas de faire des victimes. Mike Porcaro, le bassiste de Toto, y a succombé ce dimanche.
The Groove Master n’est plus. Lui qui avait démocratisé l’usage des basses à cinq cordes et avait fortement participé au succès de nombreuses chansons du groupe Toto est décédé ce dimanche à l’âge de 59 ans. Le musicien a succombé à une maladie neurodégénérative appelée sclérose latérale amyotrophique (ALS). La terrible nouvelle a été annoncée par son frère, Steve, sur son compte facebook. « Notre frère Mike nous a quittés paisiblement cette nuit à 00:04 entouré de sa famille, a-t-il écrit. Repose en paix mon frère. » Quelques heures plus tard, un autre membre du groupe, Steve Lukather, a également réagi sur Twitter. « Mon frère Mike Porcaro repose en paix. Il va me manquer plus que je ne peux le dire. Mon amour va à sa famille. Dieu te bénisse. »
La carrière de Mike avait pris son envol en 1982 lorsque le jeune homme avait rejoint le groupe Toto (formé en 1976) dans lequel jouaient déjà ses deux frères. Steve était claviériste tandis que Jeff était batteur et chanteur. Au fil des années, Toto rencontre de nombreux succès (Africa, Hold the line) et vend plus de 35 millions d’albums dans le monde. Cependant, en 1992, à moins d’un mois de la sortie de son neuvième album, Jeff Porcaro décède d’une crise cardiaque. Toto continuera tout de même les enregistrements et les concerts mais en 2007, Mike apprend qu’il est atteint de l’ALS (plus connue comme la maladie de Charcot). Cette maladie qui touche 30.000 personnes à travers le monde et qui a récemment coûté la vie au réalisateur Richard Glatzer (Still Alice), pousse Mike à quitter le groupe l’année suivante. Toto se sépare mais décide tout de même d’effectuer une tournée spéciale en 2010. Les recettes des concerts sont alors reversées à la recherche contre l’ALS. Huit ans après avoir été diagnostiqué, Mike a finalement succombé à ce mal, une semaine à peine avant la sortie du premier album de Toto en neuf ans. Le groupe doit d’ailleurs partir en tournée au mois de mai prochain et sera de passage au Zénith de Paris le 28. L’occasion pour les membres restants de rendre un hommage appuyé à leur camarade disparu.

Elles voulaient aller sur les lieux du drame : les familles, qui craignaient d’en être privé, pourront finalement se rendre à Buenos Aires. La société de production ALP l’a confirmé dans un communiqué.
« Nous avons proposé aux familles et aux proches qui le souhaitent de se rendre sur les lieux du drame après les obsèques. » Franck Firmin-Guion, PDG de la société de production ALP, l’assure dans un communiqué : l’entreprise derrière Dropped fera tout pour que les proches des victimes du crash de deux hélicoptères puissent poursuivre leur deuil comme ils l’entendent.
« C’est seulement [mercredi] en début d’après-midi, après un recoupement d’informations de nos différents contacts, que nous avons pu envisager très sérieusement un retour des victimes dimanche, explique-t-il. Dès cette certitude acquise, nous avons proposé aux familles de se rendre à Buenos Aires [hier soir] pour accompagner leurs proches ». Une possibilité qui répond à une demande forte de la part des familles des victimes.
« Depuis le jour du drame, notre seule préoccupation est d’accompagner les familles, les proches et les équipes qui étaient présentes sur place autant que nous le pouvons dans ces circonstances, conclut le communiqué. Nous comprenons que dans de telles circonstances, rien n’est suffisant et nous témoignons à nouveau aux familles et aux proches notre compassion absolue. » Pas certain, toutefois, que cela suffise : le frère de Florence Arthaud, ancien pilote d’hélicoptère, vient de mettre en cause la responsabilité d’ALP dans l’accident qui a coûté la vie à dix personnes.
L’actrice Alberta Watson est décédée à l’âge de 60 ans à Toronto ce samedi 21 mars, comme le rapporte le site ET Canada.
Fin janvier, la chaîne Fox annonçait que la série 24 Heures Chrono serait probablement de retour sur le petit écran mais sans son acteur principal Kiefer Sutherland. L’actrice Alberta Watson ne fera pas partie de la suite des aventures non plus.Celle qui incarnait la directrice d’une cellule anti-terroriste dans la série est décédée le samedi 21 mars.
Une nouvelle annoncée par le site ET Canada et qui a été confirmée par l’agent de la Canadienne, Pam Winter . « Alberta est morte samedi après-midi à l’hôpital Kensington à Toronto. Son mari Ken était à ses côtés. Les détails concernant la cérémonie seront communiqués ultérieurement » a-t-il déclaré lors de l’émission Entertainment Tonight. Quelques jours plus tôt, le 6 mars 2015, l’actrice fêtait ses 60 ans. A ce jour, nous ne connaissons pas les raisons de son décès.
Connue pour son rôle dans la série à succès 24h Chrono, Alberta Watson s’est d’abord illustrée au cinéma au cours des années 70 dans le film In Praise Of Older avant de quitter son pays natal pour les États-Unis. Là-bas, elle enchaîne ainsi les longs métrages parmi lesquels La Forteresse Noire, L’Arme Secrète ou encore Hackers. Le grand écran n’est pas le seul amour de l’actrice qui se consacre également aux téléfilms ainsi qu’aux séries. Alberta s’est d’ailleurs fait connaître du grand public lorsqu’elle incarnait Madeleine dans la série La Femme Nikita, entre 1996 et 2001, inspirée du film Nikita de Luc Besson. Quelques années plus tard, en 2010, l’actrice apparaît dans une nouvelle série adaptée de Nikita. C’était sa dernière apparition.
