Samantha Bee Triggered By Ted Cruz Defense of Kavanaugh: 'Shut the F**k Up, B*tch!'

late-night host Samantha Bee ripped into Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) on Wednesday after he dismissed unsubstantiated claims that Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh has a history of sexual harassment.

Cruz appeared on ABC’s This Week and dismissed allegations of sexual misconduct against Kavanaugh uncovered by writers Robin Pogrebin and Kate Kelly in their book The Education of Brett Kavanaugh: An Investigation, less than a year after his notorious judicial confirmation process was dominated by other unproven claims of sexual assault.

“At the end of the day, the American people made a judgment that the evidence wasn’t there, the corroboration wasn’t there,” Cruz told host George Stephanopoulos. “At some point, they just have to let the anger go and recognize that the democratic process actually moves on. And I think it’s time for them to do that.”

Bee was less than impressed by Cruz’s attempts to play down the allegations.

“Oh, should I let the anger go? Should I calm down? Should I smile more?” the furious Full Frontal host said. “Shut the fuck up, bitch!”

“The American people didn’t get to make a judgment on this,” Bee continued. “The Senate did and they decided not to do a proper investigation. So yeah, as long as an alleged sexual assaulter is ruling our laws about my body, I remain vexed.”

The 49-year-old comedienne also lamented how The New York Times added a correction to their story stating that one of the alleged victims of Kavanaugh’s does not remember the incident in question. The Times also delete and apologized for a tweet declaring that “having a penis thrust in your face at a drunken dorm party may seem like harmless fun.”

“The New York Times‘s fuck-ups created a way for Fox News to deflect, focusing on editorial errors instead of the information,” Bee said. “Interesting that Fox & Friends believes the victim who doesn’t remember, but not the ones who do. Though, to be fair, I can’t recall Fox & Friends ever doing anything in good faith or anything good at all, except that one time Tucker Carlson fell asleep on air.”

Camille Cerf mauvaise perdante

Mark Hamill Attacks Ivanka Trump and Her Child over 'Star Wars' Costume

Star Wars actor Mark Hamill attacked Ivanka Trump and her family after the White House senior advisor and daughter of President Donald Trump tweeted a photo declaring that the “force is strong in my family.”

“The Force is strong in my family,” Ivanka wrote, accompanied by a family photo in which their 3-year-old son Theodore is seen wearing a Stormtrooper costume.

The family’s obvious appreciation for the space-opera franchise was quickly belittled by its star Hamill, who used the opportunity to attack her father, President Trump.

“You misspelled ‘Fraud.’ #GoForceYourself,” said Mark Hamill, who plays Jedi Master Luke Skywalker in the famous franchise, most recently appearing in the 2017 installment The Last Jedi.

It’s not the first time that Hamill, who is an outspoken progressive and supporter of the Democratic Party, has used the Star Wars franchise to attack the Trump family. Last year, the 68-year-old insisted that Trump was worse than Darth Vader, the iconic villain who plays Luke’s father in the series, because the latter eventually “saw the errors of his ways.”

“Listen, I really get upset when people compare [Trump] or even [former Vice President] Dick Cheney to Darth Vader because Darth Vader repented,” Hamill said in a podcast hosted by The Washington Post. “He saw the error of his ways. I don’t see either one of them doing that.”

Hamill has described Trump as both a coward and a traitor, while also warning that his cabinet is full of “really despicable people.”

Trump Suggests House Judiciary Investigation into Obama's Netflix Deal

President Donald Trump has blasted Barack and Michelle Obama’s partnership with Netflix, calling the production deal “ridiculous” and suggested an investigation be launched by the House Judiciary Committee.

In a series of tweets Monday, President Trump accused the House Judiciary Committee of looking into his business deals because the Mueller report failed to produce evidence of Russia collusion and obstruction of justice.

“I have a better idea. Look at the Obama Book Deal, or the ridiculous Netflix deal,” Trump fired back.

Netflix signed a deal with the Obamas in 2018 to produce TV shows and documentaries for the digital streaming platform. The multi-year deal with the Obama’s Higher Ground production company includes the documentary American Factory — about a Chinese billionaire who opens a factory in an abandoned General Motors plant in Ohio.

It also includes a planned docuseries based on Michael Lewis’ The Fifth Risk: Undoing Democracy, which is critical of the Trump administration.

The former first couple is close with Netflix’s chief content officer Ted Sarandos, who has been a major donor. Sarandos’ wife served as ambassador to the Bahamas in the Obama administration.

Netflix CEO Reed Hastings has publicly criticized Trump, once saying he “would destroy what is great about America.”

Netflix named former Obama national security advisor Susan Rice to its board of directors in 2018.

Trump tweeted Monday that Democrats are trying to build a case that he is trying to enrich himself by being president.

“I am far beyond somebody paying for a hotel room for the evening, or filling up a gas tank at an airport I do not own. These Radical Left Democrats are CRAZY! Obama Netflix?”

Oprah Winfrey Wants Disney CEO Bob Iger to Run for President

Talk-show queen Oprah Winfrey said she wishes Walt Disney Company CEO Bob Iger would run for president, even though Iger has previously said he won’t run for office.

Winfrey took to Twitter Saturday to tease a clip of an upcoming interview with Iger that is set to air Sunday evening on her cable network, OWN. Iger has been making the media rounds to promote his new memoirs, The Ride of a Lifetime.

“This is the man I wish was running for President of the USA,” Winfrey said, referring to Iger. “His decency prevails in all decision making. His 10 steps for leadership revealed in his new book #RideOfALifetime apply to every business and every life.”

In the clip, Winfrey gushes over Iger, telling him that she would be campaigning for him if he had decided to run.

“If Bob Iger had decided to run for president, I would be canvasing in Iowa right now. I would be going door to door,” Winfrey said.

She later asked him: “Why didn’t you run for president? I wish first of all more than ever, everyday I think, I wish you had done it.”

Iger replied, “I’m deeply flattered. I had this conversation with President Obama and his family a few times. His kids and his wife clearly believe I had the better job.”

The 68-year-old Iger had been rumored as a possible Democratic candidate for president, but the entertainment mogul instead opted to stay on as head of Disney through 2021.

The Disney honcho resigned in 2017 from President Donald Trump’s Strategic and Policy Forum in objection to the White House’s decision to withdraw from Paris Climate Agreement.

In his new book, Iger reveals that George Lucas felt “betrayed” by Disney’s plans for the new Star Wars franchise.

Ukraine’s President Woos Tom Cruise: ‘You’re Good-Looking’

KYIV, Ukraine (AP) — Ukraine’s leader isn’t just trying to charm U.S. President Donald Trump — he’s set his sights now on Tom Cruise, too.

Mission impossible? Maybe not — Cruise is studying possible Ukrainian locations for an upcoming film, according to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy’s office.

Zelenskiy tapped his roots as a TV and film comedian when hosting Cruise in the Ukrainian presidential headquarters Monday night.

As Cruise walked in, he said “You’re good-looking!,” according to video excerpts released Tuesday by his office. The Hollywood star laughed and said “it pays the bills.”

Zelenskiy joked about how exhausting it is to be president, and mentioned the stalled peace process for conflict-ravaged eastern Ukraine.

The video excerpts included no mention of Trump or the U.S. impeachment inquiry in which Ukraine plays a starring role.

Viktor Orbán “has always been a hero,” European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker said Sunday, stating that he holds the Hungarian prime minister in the “highest regard.”

In an interview with Polish newspaper Rzeczpospolita, Juncker described his respect for the Hungarian leader, whom he previously famously once greeted with the words “Hello, dictator.”

“I have known him since the latter half of the ’90s, when he first became prime minister. Previously, I admired him for the courage he showed when the Soviet army was still stationed in Hungary,” Juncker said.

“For me, he has always been a hero. I also have a good personal relationship with him. And I am sure he would say the same of me,” Juncker said. He added: “For years I called Orbán, privately, a dictator and he would laugh about it.”

The remarks follow a critical campaign by Orbán’s government targeting Juncker and Brussels, which ultimately led to the ruling Fidesz party being suspended from the European People’s Party, of which Juncker is also a member.

During an interview with media from the four Visegrad group countries to mark the 15-year anniversary of the 2004 enlargement of the EU, Juncker defended Brussels’ policies on Central Europe that have been in sharp focus as the EU pursues rule-of-law infringement proceedings against Hungary and Poland.

“Rule of law is the cornerstone of the EU,” he said. “From time to time, certain countries allow themselves a degree of insubordination, depending on who happens to be in power and the stage of the political cycle they are in.

“But I’m confident that in few years’ time, these issues won’t be troubling us anymore,” he said, adding that countries previously under the Soviet regime “need time to internalize the fact that the rule of law is one of the fundamental building blocks” of the EU.

Juncker denied claims he has ignored the interests of Central European countries while in office. “How can you allege that I am against Central Europe? I did everything I could to make it possible for these countries to join the euro area on the basis of their achievements,” he said.

“But it’s true that during my term I’ve visited Poland only once. This is not enough.”

He said he has not met with Poland’s éminence grise Jarosław Kaczyński, the Law and Justice party (PiS) leader, since the NATO summit in Helsinki in 2005 — and that’s because Kaczyński “never answered my request for a meeting.”

“No further opportunities to talk to Jarosław Kaczyński have presented themselves, despite my requests,” Juncker said.

He said that even if PiS wins the parliamentary elections in November, Poland will not leave the EU, citing the billions the country has received in funding from the Commission as well as the country’s positive economic development within the EU.

“Poles do not want to be separated from all these things,” he said. “Poland is with us, because we share common values.”

Amid predictions of an increase in Euroskeptic politicians in Brussels following the upcoming European Parliament election, Juncker said: “It will certainly be different. However, I also believe that in these elections, those who promote foolish nationalism will pay the price for it.”

He issued a veiled threat on behalf of his successor at the Commission for any country thinking to send a Euroskeptic commissioner to Brussels to tie up the work of the Commission.

“Nobody knows this, but last time I rejected the candidacies of six of the commissioners presented to me by national governments,” Juncker said. “Do remember that governments merely propose commissioners. It is the president of the Commission who accepts them and allocates their responsibilities.”

Ilhan Omar: Americans Don't Like Being Reminded that 'We Have Been a Villian'

Appearing recently on TBS’s Full Frontal with Samantha Bee, far-left “Squad” member Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) said Americans don’t like being reminded that “we have been a villain” with respect to the U.S. government’s foreign policy.

A partial transcript is as follows:

SAMANTHA BEE: Representative Omar is doing work. She’s trying to end our drone wars, trying to get us to stop supporting dictators, and speaking out against how we aren’t taking refugees in. You know, audaciously suggesting American actions be in line with American morals.

REP. ILHAN OMAR: We’re very comfortable being the hero in every story. We are not comfortable anytime somebody reminds us we have been a villain. It’s my job to make sure we can end this story as a hero.

BEE: Why is that important to you?

OMAR: When I escaped war at the age of eight, lived in a refugee camp for four years, I know what destruction looks like. Now, I’m a member of Congress. I am, in so many ways, the American story.

BEE: Oh, what a great movie that would be. I wonder which white person they’ll cast to play the hero.

OMAR: Maybe Dakota Fanning?

BEE: She’d be great.
