Pour la chanteuse de 45 ans, hors de question que ses jumeaux Max et Emme, âgés de six ans, ignorent ses humbles racines familiales. L’occasion de visites régulières dans le Bronx, l’arrondissement au nord de New York. Au cours de la semaine, l’interprète de Booty (dont le clip est sorti aujourd’hui en featuring avec Iggy Azalea), s’est rendue dans le quartier avec sa sœur Lynda, journaliste de télévision, et sa progéniture. Ensemble, ils ont visité l’ancienne école primaire de la bomba latina et fait des photos avec les élèves et membres du corps éducatif. Habillée en total look jean et perchée sur des escarpins nude, J.LO rayonnait, visiblement heureuse de ce retour aux sources en compagnie de ses proches. Un excellent moyen de faire le vide, de se ressourcer et de laisser derrière elle les quelques échecs que sa carrière a connus récemment – le flop de son album et sa performance à la dernière Coupe du Monde de football très mal accueillie – ainsi que ses déboires amoureux.

Contrairement à d’autres, Jennifer Lopez a toujours su garder la tête froide malgré son succès dès le milieu des années 90. Une humilité qu’elle tient à inculquer à Max et Emme. “Mes enfants restent souvent dormir dans un deux-pièces dans le Bronx”, confiait-elle à l’édition anglaise du magazine ELLE. Ou alors dans un studio avec leurs tantes, leurs oncles, leurs cousins et leur grand-mère. Ils comprennent.” Une vraie différence avec leur somptueuse villa en Californie. “Still Jenny from the block”, donc.

Après Adam Sandler, Netflix continue ses associations de prestige avec Hollywood. Selon l’AFP, Leonardo DiCaprio va également produire un documentaire avec le service de vidéo à la demande. La sortie du film est prévue le 7 novembre.

Arrivé en grande pompe en Europe, Netflix n’en finit plus de faire des émules outre-Atlantique. Symbole de cette montée en puissance, la collaboration actée entre l’entreprise américaine de vidéo à la demande et Leonardo DiCaprio. Selon l‘AFP, il ne sera pas question de voir le beau Leo dans un costume d’acteur mais bien de producteur. Au programme : un documentaire consacré aux gorilles d’Afrique de l’Est, une espèce malheureusement en voie d’extinction.
Le film, intitulé Virunga, suivra un groupe de gardes forestiers en République démocratique du Congo « pris au milieu des braconniers, des milices et des intérêts économiques dans le plus vieux parc national d’Afrique » a précisé Netflix.
« Des films comme Virunga sont des histoires fortes, de vraies fenêtres pour comprendre l’incroyable diversité culturelle de notre monde mais également les forces qui menacent de la détruire et les gens qui se battent pour la protéger » a pour sa part commenté la star du Loup de Wall Street. Très engagé au niveau humanitaire – notamment à travers son rôle de messager de paix auprès des nations unies – l’ex de Gisèle Bündchen espère bien sensibiliser le public à la cause environnementale.

L’acteur de 39 ans devrait être rapidement fixé sur le sujet. En effet, le film sortira en salles à New York et Los Angeles mais également sur Netflix le 7 novembre.

Ce n’est pas la première fois que le géant américain s’associe à une personnalité d’Hollywood pour ses projets. Depuis Et Dieu créa la femme, le film qui l’a révélée en 1956, Brigitte Bardot fascine. Et bien qu’elle ait incarné la Marianne de la République française, sa notoriété dépasse largement nos frontières. Ainsi, lorsqu’on a proposé cette journaliste anglaise du Daily Mail de rencontrer notre BB nationale, elle n’a pas hésité une seconde.

A travers un entretien dans lequelle les deux femmes échangent beaucoup sur le thème de la cause animale dont on connaît l’importance pour la comédienne, on lui découvre des facettes méconnues. Si cette ancienne danseuse classique a été selon Simone de Beauvoir une véritable “locomotive pour la libération de la femme”, paradoxalement, elle avoue avoir beaucoup souffert du manque de liberté lié à sa célébrité. De même qu’elle explique n’avoir jamais rien décidé de son look, ce qu’elle ne supportait pas.

A sa démarche chaloupée et assurée, son regard perçant et provocateur, son franc-parler sans concession, on aurait pu croire que BB s’était construite en se pensant jolie, mais elle est catégorique, ça n’a pas été le cas: enfant, “j’étais moche”. La raison peut-être pour laquelle, bien qu’elle assure que “les femmes font ce qu’elle veulent”, elle affirme détester le féminisme et être “une masculiniste”.

Et quid de l’âge? Bardot, contrairement à de nombreuses actrices contemporaines qui ont cédé aux sirènes de la chirurgie esthétique, est égale à elle-même et affirme sans détour: “Je n’y pense pas. Je n’ai pas le temps de me regarder le nombril.”

À 35 ans, Pete Doherty ne s’est toujours pas assagi, malgré ses bonnes intentions. Dans une interview, Carl Barât des Libertines dévoile le combat de son ami contre l’addiction à la drogue.

Il y a quelques semaines encore, Pete Doherty flânait dans les rues de Paris. Mais l’âme insouciante et poétique du rockeur a encore fini par tomber dans la noirceur. Pour une énième fois dans sa vie, le jeune homme a été admis dans un établissement de désintoxication.Son confrère des Libertines, Carl Barât, a fait cette triste révélation dans une interview accordée à NME.

Afin de l’éloigner radicalement de ses démons, Pete Doherty est soigné au centre Hope à Bangkok. En 2012, le chanteur a déjà effectué un séjour en Thaïllande pour les mêmes raisons, mais très vite il a repris ses mauvaises habitudes. Carl Barât s’était promis d’enregistrer un nouvel album avec son ami de toujours lors de son retour en Europe, mais il n’en aura pas eu le temps. Le musicien veut cependant rester confiant pour cette fois. À NME il confie que “Pete va bien” et promet de “continuer de prendre de ses nouvelles pour voir comment il avance”. Difficile pourtant, même pour lui, de croire que Pete Doherty “se bat depuis dix ans” contre ses addictions.

Virage radical dans leur stratégie de communication? Les Daft Punk, pourtant si attachés à leur anonymat, ont fait une entorse à leur propre règlement. Pour la beauté de l’art, les deux musiciens versaillais se sont laissés observer sans leurs casques.

Le Français Xavier Veilhan est l’un des seuls aujourd’hui à pouvoir décrire les profils des auteurs de Human after all. Le plasticien a réalisé dans le cadre de l’exposition Music présentée dans les galeries Perrotin à New-York et bientôt à Paris, une sculpture d’1,61 m en contreplaqué de bouleau des Daft Punk à visages découverts. Thomas Bangalter et Guy-Manuel de Homen-Christo se dévoilent tels qu’ils sont dans la réalité, leurs yeux protégés par une paire de lunettes.

Xavier Veilhan peut se féliciter de ce coup de maître. Le sculpteur explique simplement au site The Creator Project qu’il a proposé au duo star de “les représenter en tant que producteurs, pas en tant que musiciens, et après avoir discuté avec eux, on s’est mis d’accord sur le fait qu’ils devaient apparaître sous leurs vrais noms”. Les bons copains de Pharrell Williams ont accepté le deal, lançant à l’artiste que “si les gens veulent savoir à quoi nous ressemblons dans la vraie vie, ils devront regarder la sculpture”. Mais l’oeuvre étant laissée à l’état brut du bois, il sera difficile de reconnaître les Daft Punk même sans leurs casques désormais.

Les deux artistes qui mènent une vie normale ne sont plus tout à fait anonymes aux yeux de certains observateurs. Guy-Manuel de Homen-Cristo est donc le personnage à gauche, plus petit, tandis que son fidèle acolyte Thomas Bangalter, plus grand et barbu, se tient à droite, au second plan. Gardez l’oeil ouvert, les Daft Punk sont peut-être à côté de vous!

There are some two dozen Democrats running for the 2020 nomination and only one has a serial young girl-touching problem — and yet, #MeToo Princess Alyssa Milano is not only advising Joe Biden, she considers him a pal and makes excuses for him.

As we all now know, Biden has been inappropriately handsy with women and young girls for years. His bizarre acts of “affection” have made numerous women and children visibly uncomfortable and even some left-wing Democrats, like former state Senator Lucy Flores (D-NV), have had the courage to come forward to talk about it.

Flores claims that while he was serving as vice president, Biden creeped up behind her, grabbed her shoulders, pulled her close, sniffed her hair, and kissed her on the back of her head.

Who does things like that?

Regardless, because he’s a leftist who will always be protected by our corrupt establishment media, hair-sniffer Biden has not only denied what is clearly captured on video after video and regularly jokes about all his unwanted pawing, he still refuses to control himself.

And look who’s riding to the rescue… Alyssa Milano.

Last year, Milano managed to ride out her middle-aged-pop-tart obscurity as a #MeToo heroine. For the better part of that year, she stridently posed as a crusader for women against all those horrible men who prey on them, who disrespect them, who abuse their power to get away with something they could not under any normal circumstance — you know, guys like Joe Biden.

But in the face of video after video after video and even the Flores testimony, Milano betrayed all that by painting the serial young girl-toucher as a victim of his own “cultural differences.”

She also calls Uncle Handsy a “friend” and portrays him as a champion of women.

“I am proud to call Joe Biden a friend,” Alyssa Milano said in a series of Twitter posts back in April. “He has been a leader and a champion on fighting violence against women for many years, and I have been fortunate to accompany him to events with survivors where he has listened to their stories, empathized with them, and comforted them.”

She added, “Joe Biden’s response that he never meant to make anyone uncomfortable and that he’ll listen and learn from anyone who says otherwise is exactly the leadership we need to build a culture where women are heard and are equal.”

Okay, fine. I believe in apologies. I believe in second chances. But…

Since then, Biden has not only joked on more than one occasion about his inappropriate touching — he has done it again!

Rather than speak out against Biden’s boorish and inappropriate behavior, though, Alyssa Milano is now serving as some sort of unofficial adviser on the 287-year-old’s campaign — pushing him to the extreme left on the abortion issue, because that’s what this has always been about…

Milano doesn’t give a shit about #MeToo victims, doesn’t give a shit about changing the behavior of men like Biden who abuse their power for a cheap thrill.

Milano is only interested in power, political power, and fame.

She’s not desperate for justice and change. The only thing she is desperate for is whatever pays off with the media spotlight she craves so.

Oh, make no mistake, Milano sees Biden for exactly what he is — yet another old, powerful, entitled creep who treats women like meat. But what she also sees in Biden is a means to a narcissistic end, a path to power and influence, maybe even an office in the White House…

So she sells out everything she claimed to believe in, everything she claimed to be fighting for, all those women she said she supported, because the crusade to fulfill her bottomless pit of self-absorption was always the only abiding principle at work here, was always the only social justice she was interested in.

And if that means hooking her pathetic little has-been wagon to an unrepentant, lecherous old man, so be it. If that’s what it takes, that’s what it takes.

All that matters is that Biden takes her calls and is ahead in the polls — and, hey, maybe that Harvey Weinstein would not have been such a bad guy if he still had the power to make Milano feel like a star again.

Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp (R) mocked “C-list celebrities” threatening to boycott the state over its recently passed “heartbeat” abortion law, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

Appearing before the Georgia Republican Convention, Brian Kemp spoke of the backlash the law, which bans most abortions once a fetal heartbeat can be detected, has garnered from pro-choice activists.

“I understand that some folks don’t like this new law. I’m fine with that,” the governor told state lawmakers. “We’re elected to do what’s right – and standing up for precious life is always the right thing to do.”

“We are the party of freedom and opportunity. We value and protect innocent life — even though that makes C-list celebrities squawk,” he added.

A slew of left-wing Hollywood stars have expressed outrage over the law, which is slated to go into effect on January 1st, threatening to boycott Georgia’s flourishing film industry. Celebrities such as Ben Stiller, Sean Penn, Alec Baldwin, and Christina Applegate have signed a letter pledging to do so. Arrested Development star Jason Bateman said Friday that he will refuse to work in the Peach State if the law is upheld by the courts. Further Hollywood producers J.J. Abrams and Jordan Peele have pledged that while they will film their upcoming HBO horror series, Lovecraft Country, in Georgia, and said their profits will go to opposing the state’s pro-life law.

Some celebrities have taken a more asinine approach in protesting the law, including Alyssa Milano, who set off a social media firestorm with a tweet calling for women to join her in a sex strike “until we get bodily autonomy back.” Model and actress Emily Ratajkowski recently came under fire after claiming that the Alabama anti-abortion law is aimed at reducing the number of abortions among African-American women in an effort to “perpetuate the industrial prison complex.”

In a Friday interview with SiriusXM’s Breitbart News Tonight, Dr. Alveda King, director of Priests for Life’s Civil Rights for the Unborn project and niece of Rev. Martin Luther King, Jr., called Ratajkowski’s controversial remarks “very racist.”

“Wasn’t that very, very racist? We see at the heart of all of this, we have an office here in America in our government right now of Population Affairs, and it is designed to deal with the sterilization and the birth control and the control of ‘undesirables’ — members of a certain population. Now that office is still in existence today in America,” King told Breitbart senior editor-at-large Rebecca Mansour.

EU warns UK again to recoup €2.7 billion China fraud bill

The UK has two months to act or the case could be referred to the EU’s Court of Justice.

The European Commission today warned the U.K. for the second time to recover €2.7 billion in lost EU revenue stemming from the country’s failure to stop a massive fraud network that allowed cheap Chinese goods to flood into Europe.

The Commission’s warning is the next stage in the bloc’s formal infringement procedure and follows up on findings from the EU’s anti-fraud office OLAF that British customs played a central role by repeatedly ignoring warnings to take action over Chinese textiles and footwear entering the EU at a fraction of their cost of production.

“The United Kingdom now has two months to act; otherwise the Commission may refer the case to the Court of Justice of the EU,” the Commission said in a statement.

The potential bill against the U.K. was first reported by POLITICO and came to light after OLAF investigators focused their attention on the English ports of Felixstowe and Dover, the main entry points for Chinese textiles and footwear coming into Europe.

First Lady Melania Trump met Queen Elizabeth II, Prince Charles, and Camilla Parker Bowles at Buckingham Palace in London, England, on Monday, in an iconic white hat and matching skirt suit.

Mrs. Trump arrived at Buckingham Palace in a sharp white skirt suit with a crisp navy collar and belt by the Italian luxury brand Dolce & Gabbana, matched to a custom Hervé Pierre double face wool crepe hat with a midnight blue silk hatband. Mrs. Trump’s navy Manolo Blahnik stilettos were nearly dyed-to-match the suit’s collar and belt.

The white hat, as Fashion Notes has chronicled, has become an iconic signature of Mrs. Trump’s.

Last year, for instance, she donned three white hats — a pith hat on safari, a custom Hervé Pierre hat while the French were in town, and a Chanel hat for her quasi-photo shoot amongst the Egyptian pyramids.

For her fourth white hat moment, Mrs. Trump channeled a 21st Century, contemporary Audrey Hepburn as “Eliza Doolittle” in 1964’s My Fair Lady with the fiercely biais angle of the hat and the ensemble’s head-to-toe, two-tone color story.

As Mrs. Trump arrived in England, hours before meeting Queen Elizabeth II, she once again gave a nod to British fashion — this time in a navy Michael Kors skirt suit paired with a sleeveless silk pussy-bow blouse by Burberry, covered in the British brand’s archive scarf print.

The Burberry blouse, from Riccardo Tisci’s first spring collection for the label, retails for $890.

Mrs. Trump mostly let her Burberry scarf do most of the fashion talking, choosing a pair of strick thin suede Christian Louboutin stilettos and dark square shades by Saint Laurent to go with the look.

Ann Dowd, cast member of the dystopian Hulu series, The Handmaid’s Tale, called the pro-life laws being enacted in several states “disgusting.”

States including Georgia, Louisiana — the state’s bill was introduced by a Democratic lawmaker and signed by Democrat Gov. John Bel Edwards — Missouri, Kentucky, and others, have passed or are considering laws that restrict abortion in myriad ways perhaps with the goal of forcing a showdown over Roe v Wade in the U.S. Supreme Court.

Dowd, who portrays Aunt Lydia in the hit Hulu series, is incensed over the laws and advised people who believe in the sanctity of life to “go to church and ask for forgiveness,” according to Newsweek.

“That’s my advice to all of you who are dying to shut down women’s rights,” Dowd told Newsweek.

“The drama and the sensationalizing from the point of view of the people who want to pass these bills is appalling,” Dowd concluded. “I’m enraged about how the situation is being portrayed.”

Dowd’s character is an authoritarian figure set in a “speculative” America who indoctrinates women into sexual slavery so they can reproduce children for the ruling class of The Republic of Gilead.

The Hulu series, now entering its third season, is based on the feminist book of the same name written by Margaret Atwood and published in 1985. Atwood assumed that women were being oppressed into sexual slavery in the U.S. in the 1980s and her left-wing “speculative fiction” was aimed at predicting how women in America would be treated in the near future.
