Man City boss Guardiola refuses to rule out Serie A return

Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola has admitted he is open to the prospect of returning to Italy but insisted he “feels good in England”.

The Spaniard’s contract at City expires at the end of next season but he has always claimed to be happy in the Premier League and is not thinking about his next move.

He played for one season in Serie A with Brescia as a player and refused to rule out a return to Italy as manager.

Guardiola told Sky in Italy: “Training in Italy? Why not.

“It was a pleasure [to be there] as a player, with the great (Carlo) Mazzone [former Brescia manager]. I had a great time and I love the country but now I feel good in England, it’s a great championship. But maybe yes, I’m not that old.”

Scholes names Man Utd’s best XI, ‘not sure’ over centre-back

Paul Scholes reckons Mason Greenwood should be in Manchester United’s first XI, but the former midfielder retains doubts over Victor Lindelof.

The ex-England star has been a vocal critic of his former side in recent years and he agrees with boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer that United need to add some flair to their side.

Solskjaer’s men have struggled in front of goal all season and last night’s 3-0 win over Partizan Belgrade was only the third time this season they have scored more than two goals in a game.

It was also the first time the Norwegian had started Greenwood, Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial together in a game and he hinted that could be the future for United.

Scholes acknowledged United’s struggles in attack, but also claimed that he was concerned whether Lindelof was the right man to partner Harry Maguire at centre-back.

Scholes told BT Sport after the 3-0 Europa League win over Partizan Belgrade: “You look at the league position and it’s been difficult. This competition there is a lack of shots, a lack of attempts on target.

“I think the big problem with this team is the attacking players.

“I think it’s obvious for everyone to see that they lack creativity and I think in the forward areas it’s a real struggle.

“We always want players in the team to take risks but it just looks like the quality isn’t there.

“We’ve spoken about this all season now, probably the last couple of years, in forward areas.

“I think in other areas you’re okay, if Pogba comes back into the midfield with [Scott] McTominay it looks good.

“I think possibly at centre-half they could need a partner for Maguire, although [Axel] Tuanzebe looks a good option. I’m not sure about Lindelof.

“I think everywhere else it’s looking okay but it’s just them forward areas, them creative areas, where it’s a real struggle.”

Scholes was delighted to see both Greenwood and Rashford get on the scoresheet and he expects big things from the former

“Marcus, if Marcus lacks anything, it’s a little bit of composure in front of goal,” added Scholes.

“We saw Mason Greenwood, I think he will eventually be a better goalscorer than Marcus because of his pure composure in front of goal.

“Marcus still lashes at things, he doesn’t have that cool head at times where he can take a touch and just slide it into the corner.”

Rodgers discusses why Vardy snubbed Arsenal for ‘pure’ Leicester

Click:TL104 series surfactants

Brendan Rodgers is hoping the purity of Leicester will convince Jamie Vardy to remain with the Foxes “for many more years”.

Vardy has been a revelation since Rodgers arrived at the King Power Stadium at the end of February, scoring 19 goals in 22 games, including 10 this season, and five in his last three appearances.

Vardy and Leicester next face Arsenal at home on Saturday, a club the 32-year-old considered joining three years ago following the Foxes’ fairytale Premier League triumph.

Instead, he opted to remain with a club he joined for just £1million from Fleetwood over seven years ago.

Assessing why Vardy turned his back on the Gunners, Rodgers said: “It’s about the individual, and it’s not just the football, it’s family.

“Sometimes players have to weigh up everything. He was at the stage in his career where he had just come off the back of being a champion, worldwide status for that season, and the story behind it.

“But he also probably had to sit down and reflect on the next part of his career, and thankfully for me, he stayed.”

Rodgers has dismissed suggestions that at Arsenal, Vardy would no longer have been the focal point of the attack, as has long been the case with Leicester, instead citing the nature of the club itself as a key reason for spurning a move to north London.

“The one thing I know from Jamie Vardy is that he is a team player,” added Rodgers.

“Of course, he is a top striker but he loves competition. He is a competitor. I see it every day in our working time together.

“I don’t think being the main man…he is the type of guy who has proven himself all his life, all his career, and he has proven himself to be one of the top strikers in Europe, for me.

“It wouldn’t have been because of that (not being number one) he didn’t go to Arsenal.

“There were a number of things – he was offered a good deal here, he probably felt comfortable and stable here.

“It’s an incredible club. When you see all the paraphernalia around the Premier League, this is a club that’s pure, that has community spirit and doesn’t get carried away with all the stuff the Premier League can bring.

“He is the type of guy I’m sure enjoyed that, being looked after.”

Although Rodgers is unsure whether Vardy will see out his playing days with Leicester, he at least hopes the forward will not be lured away for some time to come.

“His best years will be here, and if you look at him now there are a few more to go yet,” assessed Rodgers.

“He is still so sharp, so clinical, and fit. He’s 33 in January but he looks after his body. Maybe not having played so much early on in his career is helping him at the back end.

“And then what he wants to do in a few years’ time, you never know. He may want to play elsewhere in another country, which he could do, but hopefully he is going to be here for many more years.”

Watch the U.S. Pairs Skating Team Make History by Nailing a Quadruple Twist at the Olympics

U.S. figure skating team Alexa Scimeca Knierim and Chris Knierim may have gotten 15th place in the Olympic pairs event, but they’re first in our hearts and a first for the record books. The husband-and-wife duo didn’t medal despite placing in the top five in their team event, but they did make American skating history by executing a complex move in their free skate program.

The Knierims were the first U.S. pair ever to complete the difficult quadruple twist at the Olympics, and it was beautiful to watch.

NBC confirmed the exciting news, but anyone who watched their performance saw it firsthand for themselves.

Even with the historical moment, the rest of their routine did not go entirely as planned: the Knierims had stumbles and unsynchronized spins that were not timed correctly.

“Unfortunately, too many mistakes today,” Alexa admitted after the fact, according to U.S. Figure Skating.

“It was one of our lowest scores. I was sick last night and this morning with a normal stomach bug. I had asked Chris to kind of pick up the slack for me today because I knew I was going to be more fatigued, but then my adrenaline kicked in and I rose to the occasion. I think his fatigue might have set in because he was concerned for me.”

While not everything went smoothly, the Knierims skated with a meaningful cause in mind. Moments before they hit the ice, they learned about the high school shooting in Parkland, Fla., that killed 17 people Yahoo Sports reports. According to NBC, the couple chose to dedicate their performance to the victims as a result.

The other categories whose rankings were provided by Instagram show fewer stark discrepancies.

In the best actor category, winner Gary Oldman (The Darkest Hour) is bookended by aforementioned breakout stars Chalamet and Kaluuya.

For best supporting actor, winner Sam Rockwell ranked No. 2 in his category, a notch below his Three Billboards co-star Woody Harrelson and one above The Florida Project’s Willem Dafoe.

As for best supporting actress, two-time nominee Mary J. Blige (Mudbound) came out on top, followed by The Shape of Water’s Octavia Spencer and the category’s winner, Allison Janney (I, Tonya).

This time, the Academy had its say, but best believe Margot Robbie will be raking in the People’s Choice Awards come November.

To complement the ballerina-inspired “En Pointe” collection, Puma recruited the star to model the new Ignite Flash training shoe launching March 15. Gomez posed on a rooftop wearing Puma leggings, a crop top and sports bra, along with the sleek new sneakers.

Gomez isn’t the only star with a new major fashion campaign. Less than a week after her surprise City Hall wedding, model Emily Ratajkowski is debuting her latest Spring 2018 campaign with DKNY.

In a spring campaign video and shoot, Ratajkowski dances and lip syncs through the streets of New York City to the beat of  “Funkytown” by Lipps Inc while sporting the athleisure-inspired collection.

While we’ve been waiting for Big Little Lies‘ highly anticipated return for season two, actress Laura Dern has had another project up her sleeve. The star, 51, landed a fragrance campaign alongside Tavi Gevinson and Sasheer Zamat in honor of Kate Spade New York’s new fragrance (which launches today!), called In Full Bloom.

The digital and social media-exclusive ads meaningfully feature a diverse group of women to showcase women at different ages and points in their lives when they’re “in full bloom.”

“We focus on a psychographic instead of a demographic,” said Brian Vander Meyden, vice president of global marketing and prestige sales at The Premiere Group, the distributor of the brand’s fragrances, told WWD. “To have women of three different ages speak to what in full bloom means to them makes [the fragrance] unique.”

Meanwhile, Victoria’s Secret Angel Martha Hunt landed a gig with Ramy Brook, and is starring in the fashion brand’s spring/summer 2018 campaign, shot by Sebastian Faena.

When it came to getting the perfect shot, Hunt went all in. The model, 28, posed in a red sundress as someone off camera tossed buckets full of water in her face, which she gave fans a behind-the-scenes look at in an Instagram video which she captioned, “Shoutout to all the models that have been here.”

Gigi Hadid joined forces with Vogue Eyewear again this year, after designing and launching her first capsule collection of sunglasses inspired by her own personal style last summer.

This time around the collection, which is available for purchase at Sunglass Hut, features plenty of Matrix-like tiny sunglass styles and round rocker chic frames just like the ones we’ve been seeing the supermodel sporting lately.

And Frye is celebrating its 155th year of footwear by launching its Hometown Pride campaign with rock-country duo Brothers Osbourne, the first fashion collaboration for the brothers. The campaign highlights local talent and Frye’s deep music roots through a celebration of Nashville’s flourishing scene, which perfectly reflects the personality of this Nashville-based band.

In a release, the brothers said, “Frye is a company deeply rooted in our country’s history. Not to mention the undeniable style and quality.”

North and South Korea Walk Under the Same Flag at the Olympics, in a Symbol of Peace

In addition to marching under a unified Korean flag, the countries are set to join forces on the Olympic women’s ice-hockey team, the first-ever Olympic team comprised of members representing both North and South Korea. The last time athletes from both nations competed on the same team was a 1991 international table-tennis championship and youth soccer tournament.

While it wasn’t the first time North and South Korea stood under the same flag (they last united for the 2007 Asian Winter Games), a joint Olympic team is an unprecedented step toward unification. And in another historic moment Friday, South Korean President Moon Jae-in shook hands with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un’s younger sister, Kim Yo Jong, as they prepared to view the opening ceremony.

Although the United States and North Korea have been hurling threats at one another since Donald Trump stepped into office, South Korea remains a strong ally for the U.S. A lessening of hostility between the two Koreas could, therefore, benefit America as well.

However, many South Korean citizens have opposed the idea of bringing the two nations together, the New York Times reports, in part due to the country’s policies standing worlds apart from their neighbor to the north’s regime: “These days, younger South Koreans, in particular, are far more likely to see the idea of reintegrating their prosperous capitalist democracy with the impoverished, totalitarian North as unrealistic and undesirable.”

RELATED: The Winter Olympics’ New “Thank You, Mom” Video Will Definitely Make You Cry

Talk of combining teams was broached ahead of the 1988 Summer Olympics in Seoul but did not happen. Now, in South Korea’s second round hosting the international sporting event, it seems the friction between the nations may drop to its lowest point in decades.

Two Kardashian-Jenner babies down, one to go! After the birth of Kim Kardashian West and Kanye West’s baby girl Chicago and Kylie Jenner and Travis Scott’s daughter Stormi, Khloé Kardashian is up next, and she’s embracing the final months of her pregnancy.

The Keeping Up with the Kardashians star shared a photo of herself documenting hitting 29 weeks, and she looks gorgeous thanks to her glam squad. “Baby mama KoKo! 29 Weeks and counting ,” she wrote alongside the shot.

In the two photos she shared, Khloé wears a figure-hugging beige dress and what appears to be a sheer trench coat. Thanks to her hairstylist Andrew Fitzsimons, her long blonde locks, which appear to be freshly dyed by Tracey Cunningham, are styled in voluminous loose waves. She and Hrush Achemyan went with a metallic smoky eye and matching glossy lips. Khloé kept her accessories simple, letting her baby bump do the talking.

With about two months to go before she gives birth to a son with basketball player Tristan Thompson, Khloé clearly isn’t letting pregnancy get in the way of her style.

Maria Menounos’s 17-Year-Old Dog Died While She Was Away for the Super Bowl

Just like her mom, Baby Menounos is a fighter.

But sadly, Maria Menounos’s 17-year-old dog lost her battle with pancreatitis and kidney failure on Monday.

“RIP Baby. We spent almost 18 years together. She was my first dog & a dream come true as I dreamed of having her my whole life,” Menounos wrote in an Instagram post announcing the news.

In the post, the Menounos, who recently endured a seven-hour surgery to remove a golf-ball-size meningioma brain tumor, also revealed that Baby died while she was away working for the Super Bowl, but that her husband Keven Undergaro was by the senior dog’s side the entire time.

Baby received her severe pancreatitis and kidney failure diagnosis right before her 16th birthday. At the time, the canine’s vet didn’t give her long to live, but Baby surprised everyone with a “miraculous turnaround” that lasted more than one year.

Menounos celebrated Baby’s perseverance with a big Sweet 16 birthday bash, and treated every day after that “like a gift.” Baby’s fighting spirit through this time was an inspiration to her owner as she handled her own health problems, along with her mom’s brain cancer diagnosis.

Even at the start of their relationship, Baby was an empowering force for her famous mom.

“She’s been w/us from our days in a one bedroom apt when buying razors was tough & going to Taco Bell on a fri night was a treat bc we could afford a pan pizza from Pizza Hut.she got us through the best & worst of times,” Menounos added in her goodbye post.

RELATED: Maria Menounos Just Got Married on Live TV

It’s been an up and down year for Menounos and her dogs; in November, she adopted a new dog, Maximus, but in December, she revealed that another of her senior dogs, Benjamin, likely has a brain tumor.

However, Menounos is now focused on celebrating Baby, who “fought to the last moment,” and the many years she had with the “little angel.”

“I know it’s hard for some to understand bc maybe they haven’t experienced the unconditional love from a dog, but it’s deep & special,” she ended the post. “Baby I will never forget you my little angel, thank you for the laughs, the kisses (yours were always my favorite) and for fighting to stick around long enough for me to heal from surgery & Marry your daddy.”
