Kate Middleton Just Wore a Pink Pussy Bow to the Queen’s Pre-Christmas Lunch

Middleton’s colorful ensemble is a drastic change from her outfit last year, when she opted for a black dress that was more Janis Ian and less Gretchen Wieners.

Seeing as how the holiday lunch at the Queen’s London residence will be the royal family’s last event at home before they head to Sandringham for Christmas, perhaps the Duchess wanted to go out with a (colorful) bang.

Liverpool’s Van Dijk shortlisted for FIFA Best Player award

Liverpool defender Virgil Van Dijk has been shortlisted for the men’s player award.

He is up against Barcelona’s Lionel Messi and Juventus’ Cristiano Ronaldo, both of whom he beat to win UEFA’s Player of the Year award last week.

Meanwhile, Manchester City’s Ederson and Liverpool‘s Alisson Becker, who went head-to-head in last season’s Premier League title race, are vying to be named the world’s best goalkeeper.

The pair have made the final shortlist of three for FIFA’s The Best goalkeeper award with Barcelona’s Marc-Andre Ter Stegen is the third name on the list.

Jurgen Klopp, who led the Reds to Champions League glory, was shortlisted in the men’s coach category along with Tottenham’s Mauricio Pochettino, whose side were beaten in the Madrid final.

There was a clean sweep for the Premier League in this category, with City boss Pep Guardiola the third man on the list after completing a domestic treble.

England Women head coach Phil Neville, who guided the Lionesses to the semi-finals of this summer’s World Cup, made the shortlist for women’s coach of the year.

Neville’s side were beaten by eventual winners the United States in France.

Lucy Bronze, one of England’s standout stars at the World Cup, is shortlisted for the women’s player award.

However, she is up against arguably the most high-profile player of the tournament, Megan Rapinoe, and her USA team-mate Alex Morgan.

Eriksen links confuse Neville: ‘Where are these negotiations?’

Gary Neville is confused by the nature of the speculation linking Christian Eriksen with a move away from Tottenham this summer.

The Dane’s future has been up in the air all summer after he said he was looking for a fresh challenge as he entered the final year of his contract, but a move to a top European club has not materialised.

Mauricio Pochettino, speaking after Sunday’s 2-2 north London derby draw at Arsenal, could not give a 100 per cent guarantee there would not be a late twist in the tale, but reckons time is on Spurs‘ side.

“No, there are still hours or one day. I want to say it is going to be impossible, but it is going to be difficult (for him to leave),” the Argentinian said of Eriksen, who opened the scoring at the Emirates Stadium.

“I think nothing is impossible in football, but the most important thing is that it is only 24 hours and I hope that everything will be clear for everyone.”

And Neville also doubts a deal will happen as there doesn’t appear to have been any serious interest in Eriksen, despite all the ongoing rumours.

Neville said on The Gary Neville Podcast: “Who is in for Christian Eriksen? Who is going to buy him at the price? I keep seeing the rumours. There isn’t anything in media that is hidden anymore. So when a club are interested in a player, we know about it. I read that Real Madrid were in for him earlier in the summer.

“But where are these negotiations? Normally negotiations like that don’t keep quiet. He’s probably thinking it’s not going to happen now unless someone comes in with a surprise bid at the death. There’s nothing building.”

Shearer criticises ‘Sunday League’ Arsenal after Spurs draw

Alan Shearer thinks Arsenal’s defending is “worse now” than it was last season after they drew 2-2 at home to Tottenham in the north London derby on Sunday.

Spurs have not won a league game at the Emirates Stadium since November 2010 and were pegged back to draw 2-2 here having appeared on course to break that duck after Christian Eriksen’s 50th Premier League goal and Harry Kane’s penalty – his 10th goal in his last 10 games against Arsenal – put them in prime position to do so.

But, after mistakes from Bernd Leno and Granit Xhaka had left them vulnerable, Unai Emery‘s Gunners fought back, Alexandre Lacazette pulling one back in first-half stoppage time before Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang equalised in a frenetic second half.

Arsenal‘s defending was comical at times in the first half – it was Sunday League stuff,” Shearer wrote in his column for The Sun.

“Sokratis didn’t need to go for the header for Christian Eriksen’s opening goal.

“Then David Luiz dived in again, gambling in the way he does all too often.

“And goalkeeper Bernd Leno should have done better than just palm the ball into Eriksen’s path.

“From start to finish, it was embarrassing how easy it was for Tottenham to get their two first-half goals.

“Yes, Spurs stuck away their chances beautifully, including Harry Kane’s spot-kick.

“But what on earth is Granit Xhaka thinking when he lunges in to give away the penalty?

“There has to be a moment when he thinks ‘I have to slow down here because I’m going to wipe him out’ – but he never thinks about it at all.

“If anything, Arsenal are worse now than they were last season.”

Romelu Lukaku was subjected to racial abuse as he scored the penalty that earned new club Inter Milan victory at Cagliari on Sunday.

The former Manchester United striker had monkey noises aimed at him as he stepped up to take the 72nd-minute spot-kick that sealed Inter’s 2-1 win in the Serie A clash at the Sardegna Arena.

The baiting continued as Lukaku celebrated his goal and the Belgian glared at the crowd from where the noises came in response.

Lukaku‘s goal was his second in two games since joining Inter from United in the summer having also scored against Lecce last week.

Moise Kean, who is now at Everton, was subjected to racial abuse while playing for Juventus at the same stadium last season.

Inter boss Antonio Conte said he did not hear the abuse directed at Lukaku himself but admitted work needs to be done to combat the issue in Italy.

The former Chelsea manager, in a press conference reported by gazzetta.it, said: “Really, I didn’t hear anything from the bench.

“However, it is true that in general more education is needed in Italy. I have also heard Ancelotti complain about the constant insults received on certain pitches.

“When you are abroad there is more respect, the fans think only of supporting their team.”

There’s a Handsome New Man in Meghan Markle’s Life

When Meghan stepped out for lunch on Friday, many were quick to point out the Duchess’s ripped jeans and pumps combo, but the far more interesting topic of discussion was just to the left of Markle and her perfectly distressed pants: Christian Jones.

Clad in a navy pea coat and plaid scarf was Meghan’s bearded dining partner and new Deputy Communications Secretary.

He works for Meghan, and he’s hot — what else do you need to know? Well, first off, he isn’t just the Duchess of Sussex’s press secretary, he actually works for the Duke of Sussex as well as the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge (so the full fab four).

According to Jones’s LinkedIn page, he’s been working for the royal foursome since December. Prior to his appointment, he acted as press secretary, speechwriter, and head of news for the Department for Exiting the European Union (aka Brexit).

Jones specialized in Economics at Cardiff University from 2008 to 2011 (making him 29-ish?), which he put to use in his nearly five years working at HM Treasury, the British government’s economic and finance ministry.

Judging by Jones’s work experience, he isn’t one to flit from job to job. Though Markle’s staff has thinned since she first joined the royal family, it seems Jones is in it for the long haul.

Ivanka Trump Wore a Pantsuit by a Designer Who’s Trying to “Bring Donald Trump Down”

However, what’s even more questionable is the specific pantsuit that Ivanka chose to wear.

Per Bennett, Trump’s pantsuit is from Hearst’s 2017 collection that was “inspired by female Democrat Senators, including [Kamala Harris] and [Tammy Duckworth].” Hearst spoke to Yahoo! Style about pulling inspiration from Democratic leaders after the 2016 presidential election, saying, “Before we were thinking about dressing Hillary, and now it’s like, how do we bring Donald Trump down? Women that put their strength and their qualities in the service of others seemed like a good reference to keep us motivated.”

So why’s Ivanka supporting Hearst? Our best guess is that she missed Hearst’s memo — which honestly, isn’t too surprising. Whereas the former First Lady Michelle Obama and her assistant Meredith Koop used to thoroughly research each and every designer Obama wore, so as to best communicate her values, both Melania and Ivanka seem to take fashion at the surface, aesthetic level only. And Hearst does make one hell of a pantsuit.

Did Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth Secretly Get Married?

Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth appear to have tied the knot on Sunday night.

Photos and video posted to the Instagram story of the couple’s surfer friend Conrad Jack Carr show Hemsworth, 28, and his brothers Chris and Luke doing a “shotski,” with Mr. and Mrs. balloons in the background. Another photo shows Cyrus, 26, and Hemsworth — dressed in traditional white and a tux — in front of cake and cupcakes, with the singer’s mom Tish in the frame.

Reps for both stars did not immediately reply to PEOPLE’s request for comment, but it appeared Miley’s sisters Noah and Brandi were also in attendance at the party, held at the couple’s home in Franklin, Tennessee.

On their Instagram Stories, the girls posed together with Carr — the Mrs. balloons floating in the background. Noah, 18, was super casual in a black turtleneck and knit cap, with Brandi, 31, wearing a shiny off-white top.

Noah also posted a tearful photo with a broken heart emoji, suggesting their celebration was an emotional one.

Cyrus and Hemsworth’s sweet nuptials come after a rocky, on-again, off-again relationship between the two. She and the Australian actor dated for years before he proposed in 2012. The two ended their engagement and broke up a year later.

However, they reconnected in 2015, a source close to Cyrus told PEOPLE a year later. And despite a few question marks surrounding their reunion initially, the pair’s romance was back in full swing by summer 2016, including dinner with Hemsworth’s parents, date nights and spending holidays together.

Following her breakup, Cyrus said she had to find herself again. “I needed to change so much. And changing with someone else not changing like that is too hard,” Cyrus recalled. “Suddenly you’re like, ‘I don’t recognize you anymore.’ We had to refall for each other.”

The pair’s romance first blossomed on the set of Nicholas Sparks’ 2010 drama, The Last Song. Last July, the “Wrecking Ball” singer posted a sweet throwback photo from the movie in honor of International Kissing Day.

““Our first smooch 8 years ago!” the singer wrote on Twitter.

Until recently the love birds lived with their seven dogs, two pigs and two miniature horses in a shared Malibu home, which burned down in one of the three uncontrolled wildfires struck California.

Hemsworth bought the property in 2014 before Cyrus moved in, and it became the place she ultimately built Rainbow Land, her boho recording studio.

“It’s been a heartbreaking few days. This is what’s left of my house. Love,” he began the lengthy caption that accompanies a striking image of their burnt out walls, with the charred remains of the letters “L-O-V-E” that once decorated the space.

Cyrus, who paid tribute to their place of residence in song with the 2017 hit “Malibu,” opened up about the loss with a post on Twitter.

“Completely [devastated] by the fires affecting my community. I am one of the lucky ones. My animals and LOVE OF MY LIFE made it out safely & that’s all that matters right now. My house no longer stands but the memories shared with family & friends stand strong,” she wrote in the first of three posts.

A rep for the couple told PEOPLE that the pair were healthy after the incident, along with their furry friends. “Miley and Liam lost their home but are very grateful to be safe along with their animals! Their community and state are very special to them and they want to give back to the place that has created so many beautiful memories for themselves and others. They are donating $500,000 dollars to The Malibu Foundation through Miley’s charity, Happy Hippie, in hopes to restore Malibu’s magic.

After outgrowing her Dead Petz phase, Cyrus released the love ballad, “Malibu,” for her fiancé.

In the heartwarming lyrics, Cyrus sings: “I’d spend the rest of my life just standing here talking/You would explain the current, as I just smile/ Hoping I just stay the same and nothing will change/And it’ll be us, just for a while.”
