Michelle Obama Just Got Candid About Her Fertility Struggles and Couples Counseling with Barack

She underwent in vitro fertilization to become pregnant with Sasha, now 17, and Malia, now 20. Her revelation comes weeks after a study revealed that black women have lower IVF success rates than white women; researchers are unsure of the cause.

On Friday’s broadcast of GMA, she opened up to Robin Roberts about her miscarriage. “I felt like I failed because I didn’t know how common miscarriages were because we don’t talk about them,” she said. ”We sit in our own pain, thinking that somehow we’re broken.”

As to why she decided to share her struggles with the world, she said, “I think it’s the worst thing that we do to each other as women, not share the truth about our bodies.”

Separately, Michelle revealed that despite their lovey-dovey facade, she and Barack had undergone couple’s counseling after their busy schedules began to take a toll on their relationship. “Marriage counseling for us was one of those ways where we learned how to talk out our differences,” she said, according to E!.

“I know too many young couples who struggle and think that somehow there’s something wrong with them and I want them to know that Michelle and Barack Obama, who have a phenomenal marriage and who love each other — we work on our marriage and we get help with our marriage when we need it.”

Leave it to Michelle to keep it real.

Serena Williams Sings Topless in Breast Cancer Awareness Month Music Video

Serena Williams is encouraging women to touch themselves for a good cause.

On Saturday, the 37-year-old tennis pro showed fans another side of herself, posing topless in a music video for a cover she recorded of the Divinyls 1990 hit “I Touch Myself.”

The video promotes Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October and the I Touch Myself Project, which encourages women to regularly examine their breasts. The organization was formed after Divinyls singer Chrissy Amphlett died from breast cancer at 53 in 2013.

“This Breast Cancer Awareness Month I’ve recorded a version of The Divinyls global hit ‘I Touch Myself’ to remind women to self-check regularly,” Williams wrote in the video’s caption on Instagram.

Singing in front of the world while nude wasn’t easy for Williams. “Yes, this put me out of my comfort zone, but I wanted to do it because it’s an issue that affects all women of all colors, all around the world,” she wrote on Instagram. “Early detection is key — it saves so many lives. I just hope this helps to remind women of that.”

Women’s lingerie brand Berlei also supported the project. They’ve even released a rock-star inspired bra called The Chrissy named after Amphlett, with the words of “I Touch Myself” printed inside, and 100 percent of its profits will support Breast Cancer Network Australia.

Williams has had a busy year, juggling her career and raising her 1-year-old daughter Alexis Olympia with husband Alexis Ohanian, 35.

“It’s been so hard balancing being a mom and starting my clothing line, as well as playing a professional sport!” Williams told People earlier this month. “However, it is the challenge that makes it fun!”

“I have spent every day with Olympia since she was born, and one of the latest challenges has been her teething,” added the mother of one. “I’m sure a lot of parents can relate. A milestone has been her walking — I get a good workout chasing her around the house!”

Williams’ secret to doing it all? Little sleep and working on the road, she told People in August after launching her own eponymous clothing line in May. She said the collection is “inspired by femininity and strength.”

Also in August, the tennis champ sat down with Today‘s Stephanie Ruhle and revealed that she’s taken comfort in the feedback she’s received from other moms on social media after missing her daughter’s first steps while she was away training for Wimbledon.

“When I missed Olympia’s walking, I posted about it and so many parents wrote in and said, ‘Don’t worry about it, I missed it too,’ ” Williams said in an interview that aired on the NBC morning show.

“I didn’t realize that it’s almost more normal to miss it than it is to make it,” she explained. “So I really kind of rely on everyone’s help out there. It’s been so, so amazing.”

This 20-Year-Old Keepsake Proves Jennifer Lopez and Alex Rodriguez Are Soul Mates

“#TBT to almost 20 years ago when a big time global pop superstar signed a pic for a young ball player #lifecanbeafunnythingsometimes#pictureperfect #keepsake #jlo,” Rodriguez captioned an image of Lopez bearing her ultra-sentimental scrawl: “To Alex, With Love, [J. Lo signature, probably].”

Lopez regrammed the post, writing, “Wow!! Had to repost!!! He found this cleaning out storage!!” As sweet as that is, we can’t help wondering why it was in storage in the first place … ? If Jennifer Lopez gives you her autograph, you frame it in solid gold and nail it to your front door.

We’d say it’s like a retro vision board, but you’re supposed to actually look at those, not relegate them to the same home as that expensive but heinous rug your aunt bought you that you only take out when she comes to visit.

Swing and a miss, Alex.

We Need to Talk About Toby’s Terrifying Decision on This Is Us

The Pearson clan made their long-awaited return to living rooms around the country last night during the season premiere of This Is Us. Yes, there were tears — but happy ones, the kind inspired by a Hallmark commercial as opposed to the untimely death of the world’s greatest father.

As This Is Us tradition dictates, the season premiere coincided with Randall, Kate, and Kevin’s birthdays. The Big 3 are all 38 years old now, and 20 years removed from their idyllic childhood with late father Jack Pearson. When it came time to pull the Jack card, the premiere was surprisingly restrained, steering clear of all moments related to his death. I, personally, appreciated the moment of reprieve. Meanwhile, in other Pearson news, Kevin has a new bae who also happens to be Beth’s cousin and Randall struggling to relate to his foster daughter. The real development in the premiere, though, was all about Kate and Toby. In fact, that spoiler about Toby at the end of the episode left me shook. Warning: I will be discussing that very spoiler ahead.

Newly married Kate is dead-set on having a baby, despite discouragement from various healthcare professionals. Kate and her baby mania steal the show throughout the episode, while Toby stands idly by, quietly lending his support and refraining from his typical quips.

Speaking of — I’ve heard what everyone’s saying about Toby, OK? I know you think he’s annoying, and even manipulative, and that Kate’s settling because she’s insecure about her weight, but I beg to differ. Kate’s finally found someone who makes her feel beautiful the way her father once did (don’t make this weird), and not only is his dad joke game on-point, but he also understands her struggles with weight and body image and is down to be her live-in cheerleader. If that’s settling, then literally what isn’t?

Anyways, my point is that I’m solidly on Team Toby, which is why this episode caught me off-guard. Everything was fine, I was fine, until the end, when Kate decides to go for IVF, even though the doctor tells her the chances of success are around 10 percent.  Toby — who admits he’s been taking antidepressants for several years (which may be to blame for a low sperm-count) — reacts to the news by popping open a bottle of his pills and spilling them into the toilet.

Based on what we know about antidepressants, going off cold turkey is a really, really bad idea. Not only might you experience withdrawal symptoms like anxiety, nausea, trouble sleeping, etc., etc., but it can actually intensify depressive symptoms and lead to suicidal ideations and tendencies. In short: it’s ill-advised, and will in no conceivable way (no pun intended) make Kate or the hypothetical  new baby’s life easier — which, sadly, was Toby’s intention in doing this in the first place.

RELATED: Why We Love Being Emotionally Destroyed By This Is Us

Honestly, it may be one of the worst moves made in the history of the show, and something tells me it’s not leading anywhere good. We got a taste of Toby’s foreboding future timeline during this episode — aside from the occasional heart attack, Toby’s arc has been fairly drama-free until this point. If he’s casting off medical advice and taking his mental wellness into his own hands, that may not be the case going forward. As always with This Is Us, only time will tell.

Gwyneth Paltrow Just Commented on Another Hilariously NSFW Instagram Post

Gwyneth Paltrow, Instagram-commenter extraordinaire, has struck double-tap gold once again.

The Goop founder reminded us precisely why she’s the authority on overpriced BDSM props on Tuesday when Comments by Celebs unearthed a particularly NSFW post she’d responded to.

Instagram account CrazyBitchProbs_ (a Paltrow favorite), posted a tweet from @Carlyycattt reading, “I wanted to die after my ex left me but than [sic] I found somebody that tied me up and stuck their thumb in my ass. Life is about growth.” While I think this was a missed opportunity for a thumbs-up emoji, Gwyneth’s comment is also pretty good (I guess): “Preach.”

As you surely know, this isn’t the first time the Shallow Hal star has taken her wit to the ‘gram. She’s everywhere (or at least her team of publicists is):

As much as we love all the other iterations of Paltrow’s multi-faceted social media presence, our favorite is hands-down Naughty Gwyneth:

Miley Cyrus Narrowly Avoids a Wardrobe Malfunction with Her NSFW Outfit on SNL

Miley Cyrus sang a rendition of her song “Nothing Breaks Like a Heart” with Mark Ronson on last evening’s episode of Saturday Night Live, but viewers were more focused on her outfit rather than her vocals during the stirring performance.

Wearing a glittering tracksuit by Gucci, the songstress left the front of her jacket completely unzipped without a top underneath. It was basically a wardrobe malfunction just waiting to happen.

We need to know the brand of tape Miley used to keep her top from flying open, stat!

If her first outfit didn’t provide enough shock value for the audience, she wore another NSFW ensemble while singing “(Happy Xmas) War Is Over.” An embellished Saint Laurent dress with a plunging V-neck and asymmetrical slit probably had the control room employees at SNL on the edge of their seats.

Twitter users also had some thoughts about Miley’s head-turning outfit choices, as she left them completely perplexed as to how she avoided a nip slip.

But, hey, she’s just Miley being Miley.

Every Cameo in Ariana Grande’s “thank u, next” Music Video

In case you missed it, Ariana Grande has been majorly teasing her “thank u, next” music video on Instagram, and it includes plenty of throwbacks to fans’ favorite films, like Bring it On and Legally Blonde, plus all of the Mean Girls you could ever want.

VIDEO: All the Movie References in Ariana Grande’s ‘thank u, next’ Music Video

The “thank u, next” video hints that have been posted — yes, that’s Grande looking like none other than Regina George — have sent fans into a tailspin over what to expect from the bound-to-be epic video. But since there’s still a bit more time to wait, here are more details on at least who you can expect to see when the video drops later today.

Jonathan Bennett

Yes, the Aaron Samuels makes an appearance in the video. In a teaser for the launch, Bennett says “Ariana Grande told me my hair looks sexy pushed back — she’s not wrong,” paying homage to a Cady Heron line from the original film. Bennett is currently promoting the release of The Burn Cookbook, a Mean Girls parody cookbook he co-wrote with celeb chef Nikki Martin. The book includes recipes like Fetch-uccine and “I Can’t Help It That I’m So Popular” Popcorn.

Gabi DeMartino

DeMartino is a 23-year-old YouTuber and Grande look-alike who, along with her twin sister Niki DeMartino, makes videos on her channel Niki and Gabi. In the video, DeMartino plays one of Grande’s wannabes, saying: “Ariana says ‘honest to God knock me out,’ so I decided to punch myself in the face — it was awesome.”

Elizabeth Gillies

The Dynasty star takes on the role of Cady Heron for the video and it’s uncanny how much she looks like the original Cady, played by Lindsay Lohan. So much so, in fact, that Lohan responded to Grande’s photo of the cast with her own Instagram post: “Ain’t nobody Lindsay Lohan like the real Lindsay Lohan,” she captioned a selfie on Instagram. “But so flattered by @arianagrande loving #MeanGirls so much! Also, I love #dynasty.”

Jennifer Coolidge

Grande also posted a photo with Legally Blonde actress Jennifer Coolidge — who played Reese Witherspoon’s “bend and snap” protege in the film — with the caption “new best friend … thank u, next.” In the photo, Grande is wearing a feathered pink top and her signature high pony, while Coolidge is clad in a denim vest and skirt that mirror the outfit she wore as Paulette in Legally Blonde.

Stefanie Drummond

While her original line about her “heavy flow” and “wide-set vagina” is tough to top, Drummond delivers a one-liner in the video teaser that certainly suits her Mean Girls persona. Wearing a pink polo shirt, Drummond deadpans to the camera: “Ariana broke off an engagement so I found a guy to propose to me and I broke off an engagement.”

Colleen Ballinger

The “Miranda Sings” YouTube personality’s real-life pregnancy became the storyline for her appearance in the “thank u, next” promo video. Standing next to a locker with her notebook in hand, Ballinger says: “One time on Twitter, I heard Ariana was pregnant so I got pregnant so we could be pregnant at the same time … turns out it was just a rumor,” before the camera pans out to reveal her growing belly.

Troye Sivan

The singer, who collaborated with Grande earlier this year for his song “Dance To This,” also appears in the video. “I heard she’s a lesbian now and dating some chick called Aubrey … that’s fucking sick,” he says.

Kris Jenner

And what music video would be complete without a cameo from a Kar-Jenner? Arianna selected the matriarch, Kris, to play the role of Mrs. George (originally played by the delightful Amy Poehler). Obviously, she played the part of proud mom very well.

Other Appearances

The rest of the confirmed cast includes a few of Grande’s closest friends, including backup dancer Scott Nicholson who is dressed as a high school girl and appears next to Drummond. He adds to the conversation about Grande, noting: “I heard if you record her snoring and play it backwards it sounds like Fantasia.”

BFFs Courtney Chipolone and Alexa Luria are dressed to play the parts of Gretchen Wieners and Karen Smith, respectively.

And a nod to the rival cheer squads in the 2000 film Bring It On includes several of Grande’s longtime backup dancers, as well as Tayla Parx and Victoria Monét, who co-wrote “thank u, next” with the Sweetener singer.

Even Grande’s dog, Toulouse, makes a cameo in the video as Legally Blonde’s Bruiser Woods, People reported. Grande posted a photo of the pooch floating on a pink pool raft and, really, it’s just too cute.

Khloe Kardashian Was Mom-Shamed Over True Thompson’s Signature Hair Accessory

Scroll through Khloe Kardashian’s Instagram feed and you’ll come across a few photos of her seven-month-old baby girl, True Thompson, looking all warm and cute and cuddly in a head wrap. While we see no problem with how the reality star chooses to dress her daughter, apparently many of her fans are not so happy.

The 34-year-old recently shared a photo of little True looking cute as can be while sitting inside one of the star’s many Hermes Birkin bags (casual) and wearing an animal-print head wrap. She captioned the sweet post, “Nothing can change this love.”

There were plenty of heart-eye emojis in the comment section, sure, but some accused the new mom of hiding her daughter’s hair, with some fans going so far as to say that Khloe must be “ashamed” of True’s appearance.

RELATED: Khloé Kardashian Brings the KarJenner Babies Together for Their First Cousin Photo

Per Stylecaster, one fan wrote, “BUT why always got her in head rag?? Come on now let her hair breathe … what ya ashamed of Khloe I mean ALWays got her head wrapped Dang!!!” Another added, “Very cute baby but what is with the hair wrap all the time??????”

The assumption that the reality star is ashamed of True’s appearance is, at best, utterly ridiculous. She clearly enjoys dressing her daughter up, as her six Halloween costumes proved this year.

Besides, little True doesn’t only wear head wraps, she’s been known to switch things up every now and then, wearing bows, hats, headbands, and yes, she’s worn her natural hair, too.

Kardashian has been the victim of many instances of mom-shaming since welcoming True back in April. Hopefully, she doesn’t let the critics keep her from sharing more precious photos of her daughter.
