Lena Headey Was Once Told She Looked “Disappointing In Real Life” by A Dude Reporter

On behalf of journalists, we would like to apologize to Lena Headey for the self-important man reporter who once stood up during a Q&A not to ask the accomplished Game of Thrones actress a pertinent question about her role on one of the most revered shows on all of cable television, but to deliver an unsolicited comment on her appearance.

Headey recalled the incident during a guest appearance on Bear Grylls’s unforgiving survival show, Running Wild with Bear Grylls, back in June. Following a harrowing trip across a “freezing” body of water on a raft MacGyvered out of literal dirt and weeds, Headey recounted the hazards of her own job: Poorly-mannered men.

“I’m horrible [at press events],” said the four-time Emmy-nominated actress, who plays the beloved Cersei Lannister on the show, before going on to describe the particularly painful experience.

“I went in I was seven months pregnant. This guy stood up and he went, ‘Uh, I just want to say that you’re really disappointing in real life,” she continued. But the dude didn’t stop there. “Is that your real hair?” he asked. “The wig is much better. I like you as a blonde.”

Said Headey, “I was crushed.” Grylls, for his part, offered his sympathies.

Before they began scaling an impossibly steep incline, Headey added that she should spend more time in nature. Because at least “trees don’t go, ‘you’re really disappointing,’ as you walk past.” Truth.

Kylie Jenner Just Made a Surprise Appearance at the 2018 MTV VMAs

Forget buzzy couples like Arianna and Pete Davidson, Justin Bieber and Hailey Baldwin, or hell, even Donald Trump Jr. and Kimberly Guilfoyle (more on their cringe-worthy romance, here). The pair we’ve been low-key shipping for years? Kylie Jenner and Travis Scott. They don’t exactly keep a low-profile, but we haven’t seen these two make an official red carpet appearance since the Met Gala in May, and now, they caught everyone’s attention at the 2018 MTV VMAs. While Jenner didn’t technically walk the red carpet with her guy, she did made a head-turning appearance in a white double-breasted blazer that doubled as a dress and included a bedazzled belt styled with strappy silver heels.

Jenner and Scott must have hired a baby sitter for the big night. They’re parents to baby girl Stormi Webster, who Jenner gave birth to in February, and we imagine she turned to any of her famous sister moms — Kim, Khloé or Kourtney — for a little help.

So what’s going on with these two? For now, we know that they’re living their life, enjoying lavish 21st birthday parties and obviously making appearances at major awards shows. But just last week, photos of them shopping at a luxury jewelry store in Calabasas, Calif., sparked rumors that these two are planning to become, or are already, engaged.

In a July cover interview for GQ, they talked not only about first meeting at Coachella 2017, but about keeping their relationship private. Apparently, Jenner prefers to keep it cool and stay away from his work. “I know he doesn’t like the attention. That’s why we just go the extra mile to keep our relationship super private, or like, if he has events or something, I won’t come. Because I want him to do his own thing. I want him to be him. I don’t want it to be Kylie and Trav. If people don’t ever see us together, that’s okay with me, because we just do our thing,” she said.

Tonight, though, they did their own thing together.

Meghan Markle Pulled a Total Kate Middleton in an Uncharacteristically Blue Outfit

As she sat and watched performances, Markle finally ditched her go-to colors blush pink and black for a Kate Middleton-approved cobalt blue. Her Jason Wu dress and Aquazzura shoes both had the same hue, reminding us a lot of Kate’s fashion vibe.

Lately, Markle’s looks have garnered a lot of attention. Her outfit Tuesday was something Queen Elizabeth would totally disapprove of (minus the accessories), and her Hamilton performance outfit broke tons of royal rules.

Still, watching her have more fun with her fashion as she heads into fall (her most stylish season, in our eyes), has been a joy. Keep the looks comin’, Meghan!

Ariana Grande Wants a Break from Social Media, So She Tweeted About It

Leave Ariana alone!

We’ve been understandably fascinated with Ariana Grande and Pete Davidson’s lighting-fast engagement story, which they’ve reliably chronicled with countless sappy selfies together. But apparently, for all the heart eye emojis and congratulatory comments left by true fans, there were just as many trolls dropping negative commentary, too.

Earlier this week, Pete Davidson wiped his entire Instagram feed, explaining that while “there’s nothing wrong” with him or his relationship, “the internet is an evil place” that brings forth so much negative energy. (And no one has time for that when they’re busy putting out that Big Dick Energy.) We honestly agree, and now, it appears Davidson’s fiancée is following suit.

On Monday, Grande took to Twitter to set the record straight on her future social media usage after one fan pointed out her return to Snapchat. (Remember Snapchat?!) “I’m prolly gonna post on [Snapchat] for a little while & take a breather from twitter & ig,” she wrote.

“Just sometimes can’t help but bump into some negative shit that really can bum u out and it’s not worth it honestly. Promised I’d always tell you. I love u sm! Be well & happy.”

In a since-deleted reply to a fan that begged her, “please don’t leave,” she promised she wouldn’t leave Twitter entirely, but that it is indeed a toxic place—which comes as a surprise to literally no one who has ever opened the app. Later, she told another user she understands not everyone is a hater, and that she’s grateful for the support of her fans, calling negative comments “noise.”

Since, Grande has continued to tweet, share promotional Sweetener footage on Instagram, and post selfies—though the comments on her Instagram page have, notably, been turned off. Davidson, meanwhile, has made good on his promised social media hiatus, leaving his page wiped of all content.

We’ll miss you crazy kids.

Lovren on Liverpool stay: ‘I don’t deserve to go anywhere on loan’

Dejan Lovren thinks he deserves more than to be sent out on loan after winning the Champions League with Liverpool last season.

The Croatian defender has been linked with moves to Bayer Leverkusen, AC Milan and Roma over the summer transfer window with reports saying that Liverpool were looking for £15m.

And now Lovren has lifted the lid on what actually went on over the summer and admits he became “annoyed” with all the speculation.

He told Sportske Novosti: “Yes, I did consider the move, I knew I gave my best for Liverpool and won the Champions League, and I am not kind of player that likes to be benched and earn money.

“Yes, some people around me advised me ‘what do you care, you are in big club, shut up and take the money’, but I am not happy sitting on the bench.

“Milan contacted me but Roma was most persistent, but the negotiations didn’t go well. I don’t want to go somewhere and prove someone who I am and how do I play and am I ready or not.

“I am a professional, I have won the Champions League, won a World Cup silver medal, I achieved big things in football and don’t deserve to go anywhere on loan and to have someone checking me and my quality.

“I feel very happy because all the time I felt Liverpool was by me, and I respect that a lot. Klopp told me: ‘Listen, buddy, you are top-class player, we will not let you go on loan. We need you’.

“Yes, when he told me that, it was unclear to me because I know currently I am in worst position of all centre-backs in the team. But there will be a lot of matches, some injuries are possible too… I wanted to leave, it didn’t happen, I was told Liverpool needs me and I accepted that. It was not meant to be for me to leave.

“Last week I spoke to Klopp again, he told me he understands me, knows I am not happy, but he also said: ‘Look, now it is finished, I want you to reset your head, I find you important’.

“I feel I am in my prime age, in great shape, mentally ready and you can not buy experience. Not many players have played in the World Cup final and Champions League final as me.

“That is why Liverpool wouldn’t let me go on loan. You have to pay to get quality and not go somewhere and prove something to someone.

Lovren added: “I feel relief after transfer window is closed. I got tired of reading and listening every day about me leaving or staying in Liverpool.

“Everyone wrote ‘Dejan is here, Dejan is there’, and knew nothing! It annoyed me, I got headache because of it throughout summer.”
