On behalf of journalists, we would like to apologize to Lena Headey for the self-important man reporter who once stood up during a Q&A not to ask the accomplished Game of Thrones actress a pertinent question about her role on one of the most revered shows on all of cable television, but to deliver an unsolicited comment on her appearance.
Headey recalled the incident during a guest appearance on Bear Grylls’s unforgiving survival show, Running Wild with Bear Grylls, back in June. Following a harrowing trip across a “freezing” body of water on a raft MacGyvered out of literal dirt and weeds, Headey recounted the hazards of her own job: Poorly-mannered men.

“I’m horrible [at press events],” said the four-time Emmy-nominated actress, who plays the beloved Cersei Lannister on the show, before going on to describe the particularly painful experience.
“I went in I was seven months pregnant. This guy stood up and he went, ‘Uh, I just want to say that you’re really disappointing in real life,” she continued. But the dude didn’t stop there. “Is that your real hair?” he asked. “The wig is much better. I like you as a blonde.”
Said Headey, “I was crushed.” Grylls, for his part, offered his sympathies.
Before they began scaling an impossibly steep incline, Headey added that she should spend more time in nature. Because at least “trees don’t go, ‘you’re really disappointing,’ as you walk past.” Truth.
