Liverpool would not sign Real Madrid defender Sergio Ramos even if he was available on a free transfer, according to reports.

Spanish newspaper AS claimed yesterday that both Liverpool and Manchester United were interested in bringing the defender to the Premier League.

However, a report in the Daily Mirror says that those reports fall wide of mark when it comes to Liverpool’s stance on signing the Spaniard.

A rivalry was created with Ramos after the Real Madrid captain was involved in a first-half clash with Liverpool’s Mo Salah in the Champions League final last season.

The incident resulted in Salah having to be replaced before the interval after Ramos injured his shoulder – but the Spanish centre-back thought there was an over-reaction to the incident, he said at the time: “F*ck, they’ve given this a lot of attention, the Salah thing.”

The report, though, adds that the bad blood between Ramos and Liverpool is not the reason for their refusal to look at the 33-year-old.

Instead, it is his ‘profile’ as he would struggle to ‘fit’ into Jurgen Klopp’s plans for the club.

A ‘senior source at Anfield’ has told the Daily Mirror: “There is 0.0 percent chance of Sergio Ramos playing for Liverpool.

“It has nothing to do with what happened in Kiev last season.

“Even if we had won the Champions League final and Ramos had shook the hand of every Liverpool player afterwards we would still have no interest in him.

“Ramos just doesn’t fit the kind of profile that Jurgen Klopp is looking for.

“We wouldn’t even sign him if he was available on a free.”

 

James Milner claims that he was called a “donkey” by Barcelona superstar Lionel Messi during Liverpool’s sensational Champions League semi-final comeback.

The Reds bounced back from a 3-0 defeat in the Camp Nou to overwhelm Barcelona at Anfield, scoring four goals without reply to book a place in the final against Tottenham in Madrid on June 1.

Liverpool midfielder Milner, who can speak Spanish, has revealed what the Argentina international said to him in the tunnel at half-time in the second leg.

“He wasn’t happy,” Milner told the Mail on Sunday.

“He was giving me plenty in Spanish going down the tunnel at half-time as well. He was calling me ‘burro’.

“It translates as donkey but I think it’s also used in Spanish football as a general term for someone who goes around kicking people.

“I asked him if he was all right, but he wasn’t having it. I don’t think he realised I understood his Spanish.

“He said: ‘That foul you did, that’s because I nutmegged you’. I left him to it at that point and went into the changing room.

“Look, I’ve only got admiration for him. He has earned the right to say what he wants.

“The stuff he did in that game, stuff he has done his whole career, it makes him tough to play against.

“If you try and stop him, you can’t be scared of being made to look foolish.

“I’ve done it. I’ve been nutmegged by him and it has been viewed a million times. I wasn’t the first and I won’t be the last. He’s an incredible player.

“But with players like that, you have to let them know you’re there and not let them have everything their own way. You just need to try to disrupt their rhythm.

“You don’t want to hurt him but it’s a physical game and, if he’s running the game, you try and knock him out of his stride. It’s part of the game, the mental side.”

 

Atletico Madrid midfielder Thomas Partey is reportedly interesting Premier League clubs Manchester United and Arsenal.

The Ghanaian international has been linked with United as a replacement for the outgoing Ander Herrera, but the Red Devils face competition from Italy, where Inter Milan are interested.

Partey’s agent recently confirmed that there have been no bids for the 25-year-old, who has four years left on his contract – but didn’t exactly sound like he was against the player moving to pastures new.

“I can say that right now, I haven’t talked to anyone, even if Inter are a top club,” Daniel Jimenez told Passione Inter.

“There’s a 50m release clause in his contract, a figure that’s cheap for a player like Thomas.

“We’ll wait for the season to end and then we’ll see.”

The comments from Partey’s representative could be construed as an attempt to drum up interest from other clubs, and reports suggest it has had exactly that effect.

The Daily Mirror credit both the Gunners and the Red Devils with interest in the defensive midfielder, though one stipulation could cause both to be disappointed.

They state that Partey wants Champions League football next season, which for Arsenal is dependant on the outcome of their Europa League final against Chelsea in Baku.

For United meanwhile, they may already be out of the running unless they are willing to stump up a sizeable financial package.

Manchester United have reportedly ruled themselves out of the race to sign Ajax star Matthijs de Ligt this summer.

The 19-year-old has emerged as one of European football’s most-sought after defenders after an incredible season with the Dutch champions, and he is widely believed to be hoping to join Barcelona, along with teammate Frenkie De Jong.

Reports then emerged suggesting that Barca are struggling to agree terms for De Ligt, thanks in no small part to his agent Mino Raiola trying to engineer him a bigger package elsewhere.

Then it was claimed that United have offered De Ligt an incredible €14m a year deal over a five-year contract – a salary that would equate to £235,000 a week – and more than double what Barcelona had been willing to pay.

And on Sunday there were reports that United were ‘very close’ to striking a deal for De Ligt after making an offer that was ‘too good to turn down’.

However, sources have reportedly told Sky Sports that United are not in the running to sign the Dutchman this summer, contrary to recent reports.

The Mirror had claimed that the Old Trafford club were readying a £70m bid to seal a deal for De Ligt, but if the latest update from Sky Sports is to be believed then that is wide of the mark.

De Ligt was also an apparent target for Liverpool before Jurgen Klopp made his stance clear on the player, while Manchester City have also been linked.

Brazil legend Rivaldo thinks Ivan Rakitic should snub a move to Manchester United to remain at Barcelona.

Rakitic’s future at the Nou Camp is uncertain as, though he has two years remaining on his contract, he is eager to begin talks over an extension.

Barca are reluctant to do so however, with the Spaniards more interested in using their budget to improve their squad.

United have been linked with Rakitic previously, with reports linking the two as recently as this February.

In an interview with Betfair, former Barcelona forward Rivaldo said: “There are rumours circulating about Ivan Rakitic possibly going to Manchester United but, while United is a big club with great tradition, I think the Croatian still has enough football to keep playing for Barcelona, as he is a great player.

“United are passing through a bad moment, but their tradition is huge and any big player would like to play for them at Old Trafford.

“Now, it’s time for them to refocus and start preparing for the new season.

“I believe they’ll always be one of the best teams in the world. They continue to be financially healthy, so they should have tools to recruit big players soon.”

And Rivaldo claims he experienced a similar situation where he had the chance to move to United but he was happy at Barcelona.

“Liverpool and Manchester City are the strongest teams in England right now and are both playing excellent football, so if I were playing today, and had the chance to go to the Premier League, one of them would probably be my choice.

“But there are more powerful teams in the Premier League than in any other league. It’s strongest league in the world right now.

“When I was playing for Barcelona, I had some agents trying to transfer me to Manchester United, but I was so happy with the city and the club at Barcelona that I didn’t pay much attention to that possibility.

“It wasn’t out of disrespect to United, I just didn’t want to move at that time. I’m not sure if there was any proposal. There were just discussions with agents and rumours, nothing more than that.”

Jamie Carragher is concerned that Tottenham’s name might already be on the Champions League trophy after Ajax “were unfortunate” not to beat them in the semi-finals.

Carragher’s former club Liverpool reached the final with an unbelievable comeback victory over Barcelona in the semis and they will play Mauricio Pochettino’s side in the Madrid finale on June 1.

And, despite Liverpool‘s sensational semi-final win, Carragher admit he is “massively nervous” of facing Tottenham in the final.

“I’ve watched Tottenham in the two semi finals a lot in the role that I have at Sky and if Liverpool play well, they’ll win,” Carragher told the Anfield Wrap.

“I’m convinced of that really.

“I’m not going into it massively nervous of the opposition.

“I actually think Ajax were much better than Tottenham over the two legs and were unfortunate not to get through.

“My only worry is, are Tottenham going to do a Liverpool 2005, a Chelsea 2012 at Bayern Munich, where they’re not a great team or in great form but they just find a way and things are happening for them.

“It could be that special year for them, it could be.

“But you could argue what happened with us and Barcelona we’re in the same sort of boat.”

Club legend Sir Alex Ferguson feels ‘hurt’ after being ‘sidelined’ by Manchester United, according to reports.

The Scotsman won 13 Premier League titles, five FA Cups, four League Cups and two Champions Leagues in his 27 years as manager at Old Trafford.

He will be back in the dugout this weekend in a Treble Reunion match to mark 20 years since the club won their historic treble under Ferguson’s management.

Despite that, the Daily Mail claims that the occasion will be ‘tinged with sadness and a sense of hurt’ as United ‘no longer calls on his counsel.’

The report continues by saying that while ‘holding nothing against Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’ Ferguson thinks the Red Devils should get ‘the very best available’ and that man is Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino.

Since leaving in 2013, Ferguson has ‘increasingly felt isolated and out of touch’ with the club, as ‘the powerbrokers’ at United ‘never pick up the phone’ to him.

A close confidant from the League Managers’ Association told the Daily Mail: “Sir Alex feels conflicted. He can see the irony that he still spends time thinking about United when he’s retired. But he loves the club and does feel a bit hurt that his opinion is never sought.

“He knows he’s not in charge any more but it would still be nice for him to be asked.”

The report adds that Solskjaer and Ferguson ‘are not as close as the image’ and that the Norwegian ‘won’t seek him out to ask for guidance about players or philosophy.’

Buying a ton of clothes just because they’re cheap will end up taking space in your closet (or your drawers). Those clothes have to be placed somewhere! Not everyone can have that Kim Kardashian Walk In Closet. If you do then props to you! But if you’re like any other normal lady, then odds are, you’re the type to put Winter clothes away in boxes to make room for Spring. So don’t overwhelm your closet with so much clothing that you might not even wear. 50% of the time, if your closet is too stuffed, it’s going to give you a hard time to find anything to wear and it can also ruin the beautiful and fragile pieces of clothing you own.

Buying cheap clothes makes more clutter because overtime you will hoard more and more that just ends up getting stuck in your closet or drawers. Although you may think “Oh my gosh! It’s only $2!” you’re going to end up buying 10 of those same $2 shirts and just wear 2 out of the 10.

4. Buying cheap clothes DOES NOT make you more stylish or attractive

It really doesn’t ladies! It simply gives you a reason to believe you’re being more stylish when you can really look stylish and attractive without buying more clothing for less money! Instead of buying more and more cheap clothes, invest in a piece of clothing that you know you need, is trendy, has good quality, and has a good fit on you. It may be more pricey, but money don’t lie, right? Sometimes quality is better than quantity.

5. Buying cheap clothes is NOT a long-term solution

It simply feeds your habit of feeling instantly gratified. Kind of like impulse buying – when you just buy whatever you see with no particular reason. Most of the time, cheap clothes don’t last as long either. Their materials, no matter how you take care of them, will get ruined because their quality is not as great. This goes along with finding something of better quality and also finding that one special clothing that you can mix and match all season long.

6. Buying cheap clothes keeps you from experiencing once in a lifetime opportunities

If you look forward to going to the mall on that one weekend you have off, then that’s saying a lot! A clothing-buying habit can cost upwards of thousands a year or more, equivalent to a week long vacation to another country. So, instead of making your goal be waking up early on Saturday to head to the mall for their Early Bird Specials, set a goal that you can keep in your memories for the long run. Remember, every dollar you spend buying more and more pieces of clothing can sum up to a trip to Hawaii.

7. Buying cheap clothes keeps you from building relationships with the people you love

Spending time at the mall looking at clothes, waiting in lines, and travel time can cost you a first date with your future husband or wife. Even if you do decide to go to the mall with someone you like or someone you want to get to know, shopping will always third wheel. Use the free time you have to go to the movies, hang out with friends, or go grocery shopping for a dinner date at home. Moments like these are definitely not worth losing over one pair of jeans!

Buying cheap clothes means going to the mall or clothing stores to shop around for things to buy. While doing this, you’re missing out on the opportunity to make a difference in society and the world. Little do we know, that shirt that was so in last Summer is no longer needed for this Summer because of the “new trend” and is now probably in the landfill partly causing pollution. So, the next time you feel like taking a break because of all of the plastic or paper bags you’re carrying filled with clothes, don’t even think of the clothes because just the bags that’s holding them is made from the environment you live in.

The fashion industry has a knack for making us feel a certain way about how we should look like and what we need to have in our lives to attain such unrealistic goals. Most of these are the types of clothes that they say are essential in our lives. We as humans don’t even realize how these clothes came to be. The “must have” trends don’t make themselves, these are real people who are behind the scenes laboring for hours and hours, some even making less than minimum wage, just to supply us with our demand for clothing. No matter how cheap a piece of clothing may be, the amount of labor an employee in the clothing industry puts in shouldn’t be taken lightly. Yes, you may also think, without us buying all these clothes, these workers wouldn’t even be working. That in its entirety is true, but it’s the same as asking yourselves, without us there wouldn’t be a need for leaders or presidents. Meaning, it’s something that has to be there because it’s a need that we just take for granted. Think about it, next time you have the urge of buying more and more cheap clothes, take a break and look at what else you need that’s more beneficial than adding another thing to your closet.

You will be doing a lot of walking in the graduation stadium and also across the stage. If you wear a long dress, you might trip on it or have a hard time keeping it up since you will have to grab your diploma with one hand and shake hands with the administrators with your other hand – leaving you to drag your dress across the floor and maybe even down some steps. So make sure you don’t wear a floor-length dress!

2. Consider your school dress code… if you want

Some schools might still enforce a dress code during graduation ceremonies. If so, follow it so you won’t get in trouble. However, considering that you’ll have your gown on top of your dress the whole time, you won’t have to worry about wearing something backless or a dress with no sleeves. The only time you’ll be taking off your gown is after the ceremony. Which brings us to the next point:

During the ceremony, you won’t be able to bring a purse or wallet with you, but you will need to bring your phone with you to text or call your family/friends after the ceremony! It will be hectic after the ceremony, and you will need to find your family/friends. For this reason, try finding a dress with pockets so you can put your phone in it for after the ceremony.

5. Dress appropriately for the weather

If it’s winter, wear something warmer – a thicker dress with sleeves. If it’s summer or spring, wear something cooler – backless or sleeveless dress.

6. Consider wearing accessories to add flair

A necklace, bracelet, or earrings. During the ceremony, people will only be seeing your gown, so consider wearing something on the outside that people will be able to see.

7. Do your hair differently

Consider doing your hair in a different way than you normally would; curling if it’s usually straight, or straightening if it’s usually curled. 8. Do your makeup

Since you will be walking across the stage and most likely in a big stadium, you’ll need to wear shoes you’re comfortable with and also shoes that match your outfit. If you’re comfortable with heels, go ahead and wear them. If not, flats will also suffice. But make sure they’re formal, and not sneakers or gym shoes or anything.
